I loved it, wasn't sure that I would as I usually read historical stories but this really grabbed me.

Grace was absolutely heartbroken when her husband decided to leave. Oh my what an emotional roller coaster that was for her and for Sophie their daughter.

Things really took a surprising turn when Grace decided to travel to Paris. She had to come to terms with herself and her life, what had made her husband make such a shocking decision? But then she met Audrey who certainly opened her eyes.

I'm not sure whether I agreed with Grace's decision at the end, but suppose it's what I expected.

Loved it! Will try more of SM's books.

Grace and Audrey are lost souls, but when they find each other, things begin to work out.
A nice, gentle story, of love, friendship, relationships, books....alcoholism, death...!

An uplifting and enjoyable story about two troubled women, both running away from a family issue, who meet up accidentally in Paris and form an unusual friendship whilst staying above a bookshop. Paris and a bookshop! What is there not to like?

Although it’s lighthearted, there is also quite a serious thread flowing through it. It covers such subjects as alcoholism, adultery, dyslexia, dysfunctional families and the odd secret! I thought it was a lovely, heartwarming tale. The characters are well rounded but also flawed as we all are, maybe a little stereotypical if I’m picky. There are some quite convenient and predictable moments in the story, but all in all it’s just a darn good, entertaining read. I can just imagine reading this book on the Champs Élysées whilst sipping a glass of wine.🍷📚

A beautifully told story of family relationships (or lack of). The characters were completely believable. I loved it.

Sarah Morgan can truly do no wrong. I always enjoy her books and this one was no different. The location was perfect, what can be more romantic than Paris right? Though this story is not your typical romantic trip story it is a beautiful story about love, support and finding yourself in unexpected ways. I really loved the characters especially Grace and Audrey and their friendship is truly lovely. I highly recommend for anybody whether you have read Sarah's books before or not.

My review: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

One Summer in Paris by Sarah Morgan is about two women who discover themselves again. Grace and Audrey end up living in the same building, and spend a lot of time together, pushing each other out of their comfort zones.

Grace is in Paris for an amazing holiday that she planned for her and her husbands 25th wedding anniversary, but learns that her husband is leaving her.

Audrey, who is 18, leaves her alcoholic mother with her new husband, and goes to Paris, where she doesn't speak French, just so she can escape her life.

The impact these two have on each other, and how their lives change was lovely, and very heartwarming. If you like feel good books, you'll enjoy this!

Sarah Morgan is described as an USA Today and Sunday Times bestselling author on her GoodReads profile. She has written quite a few romance novels!

I have read and enjoyed all of Sarah Morgan's previous books so was looking forward to reading this one and I wasn't disappointed. A lovely story of unlikely friendships and new beginnings. I loved the relationship between Grace and Audrey. An old bookshop in Paris is the gorgeous backdrop to the story - just the sort of shop I love to visit.

Well written with both funny and serious moments. An easy and uplifting story perfect for summer reading or a cosy afternoon on the sofa. Heartwarming, filled with love, laughter and hope.

I read this in one day as I couldn’t put it down and now I am looking forward to the next one.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Oh, boy, was this another amazing read from this highly talented author. Mind you, i really didn’t time my reading of it well . . . . Grace will soon have been married to her husband, David, for twenty five years…. (snap). She’s planned a special holiday to celebrate their anniversary (snap) . Fortunately, that’s where the similarities end. The David in the story confesses to wanting a divorce, after an affair with a 23 year old family friend (I was on holiday with my husband when I read it!)

Audrey is an eighteen year old who has struggled with dyslexia and an alcoholic Mum throughout her school life. She’s determined to escape to Paris for the summer and manages to get a job working in a bookshop. However, her dyslexia and poor knowledge of French she may well struggle – especially after a catastrophe involving her Mum cleaning.

When this unlikely pair of travellers meet, it is Audrey to the rescue and the dramatic start of an adventure and new friendships for them both. The two women develop into a mutual support pair, helping each other heal, and attain new goals. It is a heartwarming story, with plenty of surprises as the past, present and futures for both them and others is changed forever. There’s two old romances rekindled, trips down memory lane, new adventures and opportunities as well. It is a story of daring to change, making the most of what life has to offer and shows how honest communication of worries, dreams, fears and feelings can make all the difference to outcomes for all concerned. This is a fantastic read that I loved and cant recommend highly enough.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

A lovely heartwarming and light read, about a friendship that develops between two very different women, Grace and Audrey. Set in the beautiful city of Paris. Two very likeable characters, with very different backgrounds, even ages, but they develop such a heartwarming friendship, full of support for each other.

Grace discovers at a meal on Valentine’s Day celebrating her wedding anniversary that her husband does not want to go on the anniversary trip to Paris that she has organised, in fact he asks for a divorce as he has been seeing a younger colleague.
Devastated, Grace opts to go to Paris alone, rather than stay at home while their daughter spreads her wings on a break before going to college.
Audrey manages to get herself a job in a Paris bookshop to escape her alcoholic mother, despite being unable to speak French.
An unfortunate incident brings them together and sparks an unusual friendship, where they both help each other in different ways..
I really enjoyed this book, loved all of the characters and look forward to more from this author.

A lovely feel good story. The characters were very easy to warm to and I loved the idea of using the bookshop to bring all the characters together. The story definitely made Paris seem romantic, even though I don't find it to be.

Loved it! Two great incomplete broken women who are both victims of events meet for a summer in Paris where they compliment and strengthen each other. With their growing friendship and support they face the demons of the past and tackle the challenges of the present together. Such warmth and emotion set against a charming side of Paris, hard to put down

A journey of discovery and friendship - a Summer spent in Paris that will impact two lives. An enjoyable and immersive read with good characterisation and nicely woven storylines, emotional in places yet uplifting, in an evocative setting.

With thanks to Netgalley and HQ for this ARC in exchange for an open and honest review.

I had to request one Summer in Paris after enjoying Sarah Morgan`s last book The Christmas Sisters.

One Summer in Paris is about two women, forty something Grace Porter from America and eighteen year old Audrey from London.

Grace was a part time French and Spanish teacher. Grace was married to David and they had a daughter called Sophie who was eighteen years old. For their twenty fifth wedding anniversary Grace had planned a month long holiday to Paris. Both Grace and her elderly grandmother Mimi visited France when they were young. During their anniversary dinner David told Grace he had been having an affair with a family friend who was 23 and wanted a divorce.

Sophie was due to start university and planned to go on holiday to Rome for a month. When Sophie found out that Grace was going to cancel the Paris trip, she decided to stay at home to look after Grace. Grace didn't want Sophie to do that so she decided to visit Paris alone.

Meanwhile in London Audrey was planning on going to Paris for the summer. Audrey`s mum was a functioning alcoholic but managed to hold down a job. Audrey had spent her childhood looking after herself and caring for her mum. After her mum had married Rob, Audrey felt she no longer had to be her carer. Although Audrey was dyslexic and didn't read, she had got a job in a bookshop in Paris with an flat.

When Audrey saved Grace from a mugger they developed a friendship. Can Audrey and Grace heal and find love in Paris?

I enjoyed this feel good romance. I loved the description of the sights and sounds of Paris and made me want to visit.

I liked Grace, Mimi and Audrey. Although my favourite character was Audrey. I thought she was so brave to not only go alone to Paris, but to work in France when she can hardly speak French.

I also liked Grace and I thought it was lovely when she took Audrey under her wing. I adored Mimi, I would of loved a chapter from Mimi`s POV when she was a young photographer.

I enjoyed reading how Grace and Audrey`s confidence grew by the end of the book.

I recommend this book, it is a perfect summer read.

Another great book from Sarah Morgan - she really knows how to write a book that keeps you captivated because you are so invested in the characters and the storyline. Nothing sensational, just good writing!

This book is everything you would want and expect from a Sarah Morgan book. It’s joyful, it’s sparkly (in tone, not literally) and it’s enjoyable. A true celebration of female friendship and self-belief,
