Thank you to NetGalley for a review copy of this novel.

Thank you to Sarah Morgan for writing this novel - I loved it. The two main characters escape their normal lives in the UK and the USA, to bump into each other in the city of Paris. I enjoyed how so many stories from different eras in history were intertwined in this novel – so many events had conspired to get Grace and Audrey in Paris at the same time.

I don’t want to say much more because I don’t want to spoil the book for other readers – definitely a book to curl up with and enjoy.

I enjoyed this book, I liked the two main female characters and felt they were both well written and complimented each other perfectly. The plot was interesting and I liked following how it all worked out.

Yet another fantastic book from Sarah. Great characters that are totally believable and easy to engage with. A great book for me keeps me up late at night as I’m totally absorbed by it and this book didn’t disappoint. I love a book that brings characters from different backgrounds together which this book does and sees them engaging and relating to each other. It’s a fun book which I couldn’t put down.

I loved this book. It started off with Grace and Audrey’s life before they met each other. From two different parts of the country. The story follows how they both come to be in Paris and follows them through this and how they both change and adapt and grow a very strong friendship. I don’t want to ruin how the story ends but it’s anazing how one summer can change everything!

I love this book and I couldn’t put it down. The two main characters Grace and Audrey are so likeable, despite the emotional wasteland they find themselves in. They are realistic and easy to empathise and you want them to appreciate their true worth and find happiness.

David, Grace’s husband and Linda, Audrey’s mum, lead a varied collection of subsidiary characters that make the story realistic and resonate, but not always in a good way, but that’s a true reflection of life, isn’t it?

The women meet by chance and form an unlikely friendship but both fulfil a need in the other. Grace sees her young self in Audrey and wants to help her discover her true importance. Audrey makes Grace realise she has so much to live for and can be the strong, independent woman she dreams of being.

This is a story of family, friendship and forgiveness. Despite their age difference, Audrey and Grace share similar character traits, most notably a self-deprecating sense of humour, which lightens the dark moments in this story. A hopeful ethos pervades this story, even though at times you feel Audrey and Grace may drown in their sadness. The friendship between them is authentic and the serendipity of their meeting gives the story its magic.

The final chapters bring the story to a satisfying conclusion, the believable outcomes make this poignant tale a lovely, heartwarming book.

A great holiday read, for lovers of family drama and friendship stories that take you on a poignant, angst-ridden journey, lightened with humour and romance. Read this book and escape to Paris for the Summer

I recieved an early preview copy of the book in return for an honest review.
I am fairly new to Sarah Morgan's works. I have loved every book that I have read so far.
This book was wonderful, it was written well and it was great to read. The characters were well written and had good descriptions.
The main protagonists are Audrey, who is young, and trying to escape from her family and make a fresh start, in a place where no one knows her., she chooses Paris. The other protagonist is Grace, she is celebrating 25 years of marriage, and her daughter is off to university. She books a trip to Paris, where her grandmother used to live. As her life suddenly changes, she decides to go to Paris alone.
Audrey and Grace encounter one another, and become unlikely friends. The story is set around a Parisian bookshop, where Grace's grandmother has connections.
I absolutely loved this book, I found myself caring about the characters, and what happened next. I enjoyed the locations, especially Paris. I would definitely recommend this book.

Grace’s plans for a trip to Paris to celebrate her 25th Wedding Anniversary are thrown into disarray when her husband tells her he wants a divorc.e. After he asks for the tickets to take his new girlfriend, she surprises everyone by going alone, On her first day in Paris, she meets Audrey, a young girl who has taken a job in a bookshop to escape from her alcoholic mother. The two strike up an unlikely friendship and help each other find love.

A very enjoyable romantic novel, set against the backdrop of Paris in the summertime. The characters are well written and develop well over the course of the story. My favourite is Audrey, whose struggles with trying to work in a French bookshop whilst knowing no French adds humour to the story.

A very enjoyable read and a book that I was sad to finish.

This book is predominately about female friendship and finding yourself when life throws you a curve ball. Audrey is a young woman, determined to find adventure in Paris and Grace is on the precipice of ending her marriage to cheating David. Grace and Audrey meet in Paris and help each other. Audrey cuts Grace's hair and Grace teaches dyslexic Audrey French. Well written but would have liked more romance. Missed that romantic spark.

A hug in a book

Summer in Paris is a comforting book, where friends are made, lovers discovered and you know that all will turn out well. Grace and Audrey are both delightful characters, both in Paris to escape trauma at home. Grace thought she had a happy and organised life with David, her husband of 25 years. This changed abruptly. Instead of having a romantic month together in Paris she finds herself flying alone from Connecticut to the swanky hotel she had so carefully chosen.

Audrey, British and the same age as Grace's daughter, goes to Paris to escape her alcoholic mother. They meet when Audrey rescues Grace's handbag from a bag-snatcher. Audrey helps Grace to loosen up and enjoy life, while Grace takes Audrey under her wing, teaching her French and other life skills neglected by her own mother.

This is Paris, so of course they find great guys to have fun with! And then there's Grace's feisty French grandmother, Mimi, with her secret past...

A quick and easy romantic read. Pour yourself a glass of Merlot, curl up on the sofa and enjoy!

The most emotional book I have read in a long time. Although it is fiction, it still leaves you with the feeling that there are still good people in the world. I loved all the characters and the storyline which swirled around them. Great read.

I really do enjoy Sarah Morgan's novels. They have just the right blend of romance, humour and real life. In One Summer in Paris, we meet Grace and Audrey, women from very different backgrounds with, it appears, nothing common. When their lives collide in Paris, however, it becomes apparent that friendship is no respecter of age, education or upbringing. One Summer in Paris is full of light, laughter and love and I commend it to you.

Having read a previous book by Sarah Morgan and not enjoyed it, this was an unexpected surprise. There are a few implausibilities to get past but on the whole this is an entertaining and well plotted book. While it wasn’t quite unputdownable, I did look forward to reading the next development and would recommend this as a perfect holiday read.

A complicated love story set in Paris, and exploring the different definitions of love. Grace escapes to Paris when her marriage falls apart. Through the journey her life has taken, she has lost a lot of her soul and needs to find herself again. Audrey has just finished school and is also escaping to Paris to avoid the burden of her alcoholic mother. Although very mature, she is still discovering herself. Fate causes their paths to cross and create an unlikely but beautiful friendship. They push each other to break their boundaries and question love and their search for it. Both characters have complicated back stories and traumatic pasts, that contrast with the frivolous fun of their holiday in Paris. I enjoyed the book and read it quickly but wish there didn't have to be so much drama to make it interesting. I would still recommend this and felt like I too was living in Paris!

I always look forward to reading a new novel by Sarah Morgan. They invariably have such great settings. When I found that this story takes place in Paris, my imagination went immediately to romance, music, amazing food and wonderful scenery. That’s what I found, encasing a beautiful story of a most unlikely friendship and enduring love.

The story revolves around two strong women from very different backgrounds. Grace finds after twenty-five years of marriage that her husband no longer wants to be with her. Instead of accompanying her on their anniversary trip to Paris, he wants a divorce. Eighteen-year-old Audrey has been living a lie for most of her life, hiding the fact that her mother is an alcoholic and that she herself is dyslexic, and wants to escape to a new life. The two women find themselves brought together when Grace takes her carefully planned trip to Paris on her own and Audrey travels there to work for the summer. They end up neighbours in apartments above a bookshop where Audrey has been employed despite her complete ignorance of the French language and difficulties in reading. Thus begins an amazing friendship that you know will last longer than just that summer. They help and support each other in ways that they could not have imagined, and each discovers new possibilities for the future along the way.

I loved this book right from the start and would put it up there with my favourite Sarah Morgan novels. The two main characters were believable and also likeable; they might have been anyone you could meet in your day to day life. Each has been dealt a blow, but has the determination to carry on nonetheless. I admired them both. I found myself laughing and crying along with them as they struggled to find their way through the various situations they found themselves in in this foreign place. They were acquaintances brought together by chance who became the firmest of friends, sharing their deepest, darkest secrets and healing in the process. I think this heart-warming tale set in such a wonderful location will make a lovely summery read, but with tissues at the ready.

Sarah Morgan has the well-earned title Queen of Romance and this latest romantic fiction novel is another winner in my opinion. Yes it has predictable parts to the story, but I think that just makes the tale more heart-warming and enjoyable. Set in lovely Paris it brought back fond memories of my visit there many years ago in this intoxicating timeless vibrant city.

At the start it feels like there are two separate stories but the lives of the two main characters Grace, a forty something from America and Audrey an 18year old from England intertwine perfectly.

Both find themselves escaping their problems for a few weeks in Paris where a chance meeting throws them together and in turn a beautiful friendship where despite the age difference the bond they discover turns them from vulnerable insecure women in to strong positive pals.

There is a strong sense of relationships in One Summer in Paris as Sarah Morgan examines both friendships and family. No one’s life is perfect and as we see in this story alcoholism and adultery are not easy to come to terms with let alone forgiven, as both require trust and understanding.

A great summer read with a 5 star rating. My thanks to Net Galley for the digital ARC these are my own opinions on this lovely book.

Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for letting me read this in exchange for an honest review.

This was my second Sarah Morgan novel and I loved it. I think Sarah Morgan will be my go-to when I'm down in the dumps. This book was heartwarming - it made me laugh and it made me cry. I'm not sure if my insomnia was worse or if I just couldn't stop reading this. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who enjoys good chick lit.

This is a story about an unlikely friendship that forms between women of different generations.

Grace goes to Paris on her own after discovering her husband of 25 years has been having an affair. Audrey goes to Paris to escape an unhappy home life, despite knowing no French and being dyslexic, she applies for a job in a book shop.

The two women meet after Audrey rescues Grace after she is mugged and an unlikely but firm friendship is made.

Throughout the book, the confidence of the characters grow and yes, there are handsome men and romance!

A delightful light, summer read.

Thank you to the author, HQ and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read an Arc of this book. This is my unpaid, honest review.

One Summer in Paris follows the unlikely friendship of Grace and Audrey.

To celebrate their twenty fifth wedding anniversary, Grace plans a summer trip to Paris, but her husband has his own surprise, he wants a divorce so Grace decided to take the trip herself.

Audrey has arrived in Paris, she needed to get away from London and has secured a job in a bookshop but, with little money and the fact she doesn’t speak French she feels she’s in for a very lonely summer.

A chance encounter between Grace ana Audrey leads to a blossoming friendship. Throw in a couple of sexy French lovers and a fun ninety year old and you’ve got a book that’s an absolute joy to read. I would give this book 4.5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance to review.
