I am a voracious reader, and Crime books are my favourite. I discovered Chris Carter last year and binged my way through all Robert Hunter books. Chris Carter instantly became my favourite author. No matter how outrageous the crimes Chris Carter has this amazing ability to make it all feel real. Something most authors in this genre cannot do. His restraint with his Robert Hunter character is outstanding. I find most series the lead characters abilities at doing their job, then everybody else's job gets so out of control the further you get into a series. He has a brilliant character in Robert Hunter, and an ensemble cast that really works rather than as decoration for a superhero. Nobody makes evil come alive as well a Chris Carter, Lucien, yes he is back is pure evil. If you want tension, a thrill ride, more evil that can be found in hell, twisted devilish clever puzzles, and yes buckets of gore, nothing gets better than this book. This is my favourite book so far. My only problem is waiting for the next instalment, pure agony.

I’m a massive fan of Chris Carter so I was always going to read this and will be buying a copy to go with my collection. This book is brilliant I’m not going to say much on the storyline apart from Lucien is back!

Fast paced, gory, shocking..... just the way you want a Robert Hunter book! A must read.

Chris Carter stuns again with another thrilling book. Page turning, edge of your seat read. Following the escape of lucien folter, detective Hunter must catch him before he disappears forever. Folter wants to complete his encyclopedia of murder whilst causing destruction and revenge on Robert Hunter who caught him 3.5 years ago, in a previous novel. Can Hunter catch him before time runs out? Full of turns and twists, a truly great read that you'll be unable to put down until the very end.

A brilliantly written book. Chris Carter is a freaking genius when it comes to grotesque crime scenes and the eloquence with which he narrates it, not to mention the tiny scientifically accurate details he has managed to incorporate in the book, just like the previous books. Carter is a master at maintaining the suspense all the while taking the reader down on a roller coaster ride, leaving no detail to chance and leaving the reader absolutely impressed and stunned at the end.

Gripping from beginning to end! The 10th in the Robert hunter series is everything I expected and so much more. Hunting evil is the first sequel written by Chris carter. The book is exciting, unpredictable and not to mention extremely clever. Although familiar with characters I was impressed with the constant element of surprise. written with such detail and precise discription makes it easy to visualise every scene. In hunting evil Robert is unexpectedly reunited with a part of his past he would much rather forget. He had no choice but to be part of this particular investigation after he received a personal message from a killer he put behind bars 3 and a half years earlier. The past has caught up with him and as always Robert puts others needs, feelings and the importance of their life before his own in this thrilling addition.

Having loved all of Chris Carter’s previous novels I had exceptionally high hopes for hunting evil. As the first novel that in any way follows any of the previous books I was concerned that this change of tack might be disappointing. However, I had no need for concerns. What Chris Carter gives his readers in Hunting Evil is a chilling, twisting roller coaster of a thrill ride from start to end. A true tale of good versus terrifying evil, I was gripped the whole way through, could not put it down. Fantastic work once again!

As is usually the case, whatever I'm currently reading goes on the back burner when a new Hunter book arrives 😃 It was nice being back with Hunter, Garcia and Captain Blake after so long. I have to include Blake because she's great! As impressive a serial killer as Lucien may be, for me he'll never be as impressive as Hunter!

Hunting Evil is going to be great for fans of An Evil Mind!

Thanks to Netgalley for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!
