This is book 2 in the Bennett Boys Ranch series, it can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the first one just so you understand all the relationships and how they got to this point. This one is about Mark, the oldest brother, and Katelyn, a wedding planner who has been hired for Sophie and James' wedding. Mark has the responsibility for the whole ranch on his shoulders, but he loves what he does and wouldn't have it any other way. And while he may long for the things that his brother has found, he won't loosen his control enough to let himself have it. No matter how attracted he is to someone. Katelyn is starting over completely and she isn't afraid of hard work. And when she meets Mark she knows they can have something that is not only hot but meaningful. But only if she can get past his reservations and his need to keep distance between them. I really liked this book but there were a few things that I didn't necessarily love about it. Katelyn is beyond strong not only as a woman but as a person in general. She isn't afraid to do what needs to be done or to step up and help where it's needed. Mark is definitely a typical older brother who shoulders way more than he should but feels it's his place (and duty) to do so. What bothered me is that it almost seemed like Katelyn was forcing Mark to have more even when he didn't want to. I don't know how else to put it. On a whole I really liked the book, I just thought she was a little too pushy. The story itself was still a good read and I would definitely reread it! |

Riding Hard (Bennett Boys Book 2) is about Mark Bennett, the oldest of the Bennett Boys; and, Katelyn, the new events coordinator from the city hired by Mountain Spirit Resort & Hotel. Katelyn's first job is to plan James Bennett's and Sophie Stone's wedding (their love story is in Book 1 but it's not necessary to read it to understand Book 2). Mark is in charge of the Bennett ranch and is a natural at it. He was given the reins when their father passed away. These 3 brothers all have hearts of gold but each have their demons. Mark was scarred from a previous relationship and is afraid he's never meant to love a woman because he'll end up scaring them away. He's very passionate and in control! He literally runs into Katelyn. Once they meet and touch, the sparks come alive. Lauren Landish did an outstanding job writing about the push and pull between Mark & Katelyn. Mark does most of the pushing and pulling away. Katelyn is a breath of fresh air for the resort and Mark. She is extremely attracted to Mark and vice versa and they think they can be friends! Ha! These two were never meant to be just friends. Reading about their attraction, Mark's fear, Katelyn putting another woman in her place, Katelyn making Mark accept her for who and what she is is similar to setting a lit match to the fuse of a powder keg. Once that powder keg explodes, Katelyn and Mark fall in love. Katelyn stands up to Mark and makes him finally confess why he's afraid. She finally convinces him that she is not his previous girlfriend and absolutely loves how passionate he is. I love how Katelyn stands up to Mr. Control and convinces him to spill his secrets, fears, and love for her. She is one strong woman and definitely made for Mark. I loved the characters, the descriptive writing, story about family, the banter, the smoking/blazing hot intimacy between Mark & Katelyn. These 2 set the bed on fire! Whew! Outstanding job, Ms. Landish. I was totally wrapped up in this story from the opening chapter to the very end. I cannot wait to read Luke's story! I read an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest and unsolicited opinion. |
Mark is the oldest Bennett brother and knows his responsibility is the ranch and looking out for his other siblings. He is into kink and doesn't do relationships. Katelyn is the wedding planner for Mark's brother and sister-in-law's wedding. The sparks fly between them but Mark is guarded and stubborn. Katelyn isn't afraid to tackle a new challenge. Will she be able to rope this stubborn cowboy? I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review. |
I loved this book and its couple, Mark and Katelyn. I felt these two were so perfect for each other. I must say that Mark checked all the boxes that made him extra appealing to me. Brooding, a calm exterior with a fiery core, serious, responsible and the gatekeeper of his family. Katelyn, I thought was his opposite in so many ways. Sassy, determined and owns what she wants, she is the light that will brighten his darkness. Their attraction is smoky, their chemistry sizzles and their scenes scorch the pages. When a feisty woman that knows exactly what she wants meets a stoic cowboy worried about letting go, you know sparks will fly, the temperature is going to rise and hearts are going to swoon!! A simply wonderful romance. |
Who doesn’t love a broody alpha male who falls hard for the girl love Mark and Katelyn’s story. Love how they accept each other for who they are. Fantastic hot read. Favorite quote: Mark ~ “...she’s all City Barbie, cute and soft, sweet and naive. She’s an heirloom rose in a crystal vase. And I’m just a country boy, too rough and warped, hard and unyielding...” |
Love these Bennett men and Mark is a storm to recon with. Mark Bennett is the eldest of the three sons and after his father passes away he has had to take the lead role in running the ranch. He is the quiet brooding brother and carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He hasn't any time for dating and especially not for love but when he runs in to Kaitlin Johnson, literally his heart skips a beat and he wonders if he can at least have a little of her if only for a short while. Kaitlin Johnson has left her home, her long term boyfriend and her beige non-eventful life to start a new adventure. She doesn't expect that adventure to begin with being knocked backwards on her first day in her new job. Fortunately for her the giant brooding man caught her instead of her falling to the floor but at the time she didn't realize he he truly saved her at that moment. I absolutely loved this book. It is tough at times to watch Mark struggle through his demons but I admired Kaitlin for standing her ground and going after what she wanted as well as to being smart enough to realize Mark needed her. This book is definitely NOT beige, it is full of hot smoldering bright fire and amazing heat between these two. It melted my heart. I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I loved it and highly recommend it. |
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Katelyn has just arrived in Great Falls and is excited about her new job with Mountain Spirit Hotel & Resort. She is the new events coordinator and she can't wait to start. Katelyn's first task is to plan the Bennett/Stone wedding. This is a big deal. James Bennett, top bull rider in the country, is marrying Sophie Stone. No pressure there. Mark Bennett runs the Bennett Ranch and is older brother to James and Luke. Mark is a born rancher. It's in his blood. He's meticulous, intimidating and in total control of the ranch and of himself. After he meets Katelyn, he needs that control now more than ever. Mark's not supposed to be attracted to her. She's a city girl, not country. Mark needs a country girl that can handle him. When Mark holds Katelyn in his arms for the first time, he feels as if he's been branded. He's not used to this feeling. He's confused about his true feelings and fears rejection. Mark runs hot and cold. Katelyn makes him smile and laugh, but mostly, she makes him feel. Katelyn is everything a man could hope for. Mark is a rancher working long, hard hours with no time for a real relationship. Mark assumes Katelyn is going to want a man to be present in her life. To take her out and spend time with her. Start a family. All the things he can't give her while trying to take care of the ranch and his family. But most of all, Mark thinks she needs a better man. WOW. I LOVED MARK & KATELYN'S STORY💕 LOTS OF QUICK, FLIRTY BANTER AND AN INTENSE, UNDENIABLE CONNECTION THAT LEAD TO TOTAL SURRENDER BOTH PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY ! THE BENNETT BOYS RANCH SERIES IS A DEFINITE MUST READ ! ! ! |

Another great book in this series! Beneath his icy exterior, Mark is smoldering and Katelyn is the only one with a chance to break through to him. These two! So perfectly matched. |
Wow! Amazing second book in this series. This one is about the oldest brother Mark and Katelyns story and it will not disappoint! Mark has some demons that he must try to overcome and Katelyn has only ever had one relationship to compare things to so it’s a completely new task to try to tackle herself. If you love angsty and emotional reads then you will love this book! |
Omg I love reading Mark & Katelyn’s story. These Bennett men are sexy AF, passionate, caring and absolutely love reading their stories. Mark’s story held my attention from page one and it was even more phenomenal when Katelyn & Mark are together. Truly an amazing read and I’m dying too read Luke’s story next. |

This book was seriously so perfect! I loved every minute of it and was actually bummed when it ended. Mark and Katelyn were the most perfect characters and this author did a truly remarkable job at conveying the emotions of these two characters. And there were a lot of them. I could say soooo much more but I’m afraid if I keep going I’ll just give away the whole story. So last thing I’ll say is, this book was amazing and I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed with it! |

I thought James was adorable, Mark takes the cake! He’s the epitome of big softy. How could you not love him after his story?! Mark is a “confirmed” bachelor. The ranch is his life and nothing is going to change that. He meets Katelyn, event planner for his brother’s wedding, and he takes a second glance. Katelyn is everything he’s not...bubbly, sociable, and kind. He doesn’t want to think about her...but he can’t stop. They start off as friends but can that last with all this tension forming around them? This was a fun, feel good, falling in love story. You are rooting for Mark and Katelyn from the beginning. They have great chemistry and tender moments. If you loved the first book in the Bennett Boys series, then this one exceeds your expectations. We’ve got one more brother and I can’t wait for him to fall. *I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy for my honest review* |

Hot cha cha cha chaaa! I think I have a thing for the quiet guys and Mark, oldest of the Bennett boys, certainly isn't known for his stimulating conversations. He can say more with a raised eyebrow than someone could in a paragraph. Katelyn, the new girl in town, seems to pick up on Mark's communications. There's something deep going on behind Mark's eyes and he's not sure he should let anyone know what it is. Is Katelyn up to the challenge that is Mark Bennett? This book was sooo good and what an appropriate title! :-) Reading the first book in this series, Buck Wild, is not required but I would always suggest starting at the beginning since characters cross books. James and Sophie are well worth the time to read about as well as Mark and Katelyn. This is a voluntary, honest review of an advance reader copy. I read a lot of books and Lauren Landish is one of a small group of authors that I get very excited about when a new book is coming out. |

Riding Hard was so good. Mark is the oldest brother and runs the BB ranch with his 2 brothers. He is grumpy and does not smile, very serious and does not talk a lot. Katelyn is new to town and is the new events coordinator at Mountain Spirit Hotel and Resort. Mark goes to pay for his brothers reception and knocks her over. Sparks fly. He saves her at the bar and they end up being friends because he can't do more. Until he can not hold back. Lots of emotion, crazy sex and fun. Great book. This is the 2nd book in the Bennett Boys Series. Loved it and can not wait for Lukes book. |

Loved reading the fabulous and fantastic second book in the Bennett Boys Ranch series. When Mark Bennett walks into Katelyn's office, the new events planner for the resort, Katelyn trips and falls into his arms. Mark, the eldest of the Bennet brothers, and known as a man of a few words words warms up to the cute and feisty woman in charge of his brother's wedding. Katelyn can't help falling for the man who melts her heart and body, but Mark knows he's not the one for Katelyn. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and riveting love story captivating the reader from the beginning of the story until the last page. I reviewed a copy of the book through NetGalley. |
Riding Hard is the second volume in the Bennett Boys Ranch series by Lauren Landish. The first volume, Bulk Wild, was published in September 2018. I don’t know yet if other volumes are planned but there’s still a brother to marry off. I didn’t know the author at all before this book and I confess (without any shame lol) that what attracted me was the cover then the synopsis. I read the book in one go and I can say without any problem that I’ll read the last volume if there’s one and I’ll also read the first when I’ll be able to. Riding Hard is a modern contemporary romance, meaning that the heroes meet, they have a strong attraction for the other, their relationship evolves with highs and lows and here comes the HEA. That’s for the classic side. The modern side touches the characters and the language style some readers could qualify of a bit crude. LOL There’s also a BDSM side that could repel some readers. The scenes are not numerous however and stay light so it was okay with me. Even if I’m not fan of BDSM, this story didn’t discourage me because it was logical regarding the hero’s personality and I congratulate the author for this. Katelyn Johnson, our heroine, is an event planner. She had a boyfriend and another job but she wanted to change which caused a total break in her life. So it’s alone that she moved in another town. It’s as a planner for the wedding of James and Sophie, the first volume’s heroes, that she meets our hero, Mark. The attraction is immediate. However Mark refuses to yield because of his sexual tastes but especially because of a bad experience in his past. He’s deeply attracted by our heroine but fears to hurt her, which is why he blows hot and cold. As for our heroine, we can say she’s determined and that’s what I liked about her. What I loved in this book is the hero’s behavior when they become a couple: in order not to make the heroine run away, he holds back. I think there’s no better proof of love. Of course the heroine isn’t idiot and she knows he’s hiding something. However there’s a scene I didn’t appreciate in the end when she goes and meets him at his place. But I won’t say more here and let the readers discover it. Riding Hard is a very torrid romance with lots of sensuality and well written hot scenes. The author’s style is flowing and dynamic and even if the story isn’t very original in spite of the light BDSM, we want to turn the pages to discover the rest. The novel is written in the first person from the hero and the heroine’s points of view. Riding Hard can easily be read as a standalone. The reader guesses there’s been a precedent story but she’s free not to read it. To conclude I recommend this book with a little warning. |

WOW - That is the only word i can use to describe this book, i have literally just finished reading it and holy moly this was an epic story from Lauren, the build up between Mark and Kristen was amazing it was like a fuse that was slowly burning down , once things went off with these two it was HOT, but due to a bad experience with an ex Mark thinks he has messed things up, but Kristen proves to him that he is not a monster just cos he has a few kinks and that she wants the same as he does, there is a tiny bit of drama with a jealous woman who wants mark but Kristen handles her perfectly, this is by far one of the best books Lauren has written and i look forward to Luke's book when it comes out. |
Riding Hard by Lauren Landish is the second book from the Bennett Boys Ranch series. Loved it! Mark and Katelyn have the reader intrigued to read more. Katelyn is a wedding planner and it tired of her former bland life that she wants to move away from. Mark is perceived as serious and emotionless. In his case he is scared from past relationships for showing his true nature. These two let down their walls and it turns out to be a very hot relationship! Again I loved this story and look forward to more from this series. Excellent job Lauren Landish!! |
I received from Netgalley for an honest review I enjoyed this read the story was fantastic the characters were everything I love in a read I just couldn’t put it down I loved everything about it Lauren Landish I have read many of your reads and you never disappoint great read |

Mark is the eldest and the most responsible of the Bennett brother's. He's not only in charge of the ranch but he also lives and breaths it. He doesn't have the time or the inclination to have a relationship, he's been there, done that, Then along comes Katelyn, the events planner at the resort where his brother is getting married. I really enjoyed this book, it was well written with interesting characters and a engaging storyline. The chemistry between Mark and Katelyn was off the charts! The story was intense/entertaining and kept me turning the pages from beginning to end. Highly recommend! |
