What would you do for someone you love? How far would you go for your child? I devoured this book in 2 days. I couldn’t stop wondering what was going to happen. I have loved Kerry’s other books so I had high expectations of this book. It did not disappoint! So many questions and so many twists. I found myself loving Nathan and feeling so sorry for Ella. I can’t wait to read the sequel!!

I found this story to be a bit predictable and the twist unoriginal. I feel like I've read too many stories recently that are similar to this one. With that said, I found this to be a fast read.

Wow; what a thrilling ride. I couldn’t stop reading and spent an afternoon and evening doing nothing else. You won’t be able to put this one down until so many pieces of the puzzle are answered. Great locations for scenery (took me back to my visit to the area many years ago). Such an exciting twist of a story and the ending...!!!! Perfect! Thanks to the author for the ARC. Kerry Lonsdale never disappoints!

I loved this book! This is my favorite book she has written so far. I read the first 2 pages at work and I was hooked. I could not wait to get home to devour it. The 3 main characters were all so well developed. The plot twists and turns surprised me and then BAM shocker! I did not want this book to end. I stayed up way to late enjoying every word. It was fast paced and I want more! This book was so original and ends in a way you just do not see coming!

Amazing ! Twist after twist after twist. All so devious ! I read this in one day. Could not put it down. Through the whole book I liked these characters and felt for them for all they had been through. But in the end, OMG ! These people !!!!!!!! Blown away by the concept. Such a well written, fast paced crazy book !! #buythebook #teamnathan

If there were 10 stars, I definitely would give this book all 10 stars. I quickly became immersed in the book, and couldn't put it down.

The story line was very easy to follow, and the ending of the book was like no other book I have read. I started to really fall in love with the handsome outside enthusiast, Nathan, and my heart ached for him throughout the book. His loss truly resonated with me, and I still can't stop thinking about him.

I will read more books by this author anytime she has one.

Simply amazing!!!!! Ella wakes up in a hospital. She was in a horrible accident and lost her unborn baby. But she has no memory of the accident and her pregnancy. As she tries to regain her memory she finds herself wondering if she wants her memories back. The story is riveting and has a twist at the end I never saw coming! I hope there will be a sequel to this book! I highly recommend this book!

This book had me hooked from the first page. It was hard to put down. I wanted to know how it was going to end and now that I do......I want more.

Ella was such a likable character. Her not remembering what happened to her was heartbreaking. I can't imagine waking up and finding out you lost a child you can't remember. Damien was so good to Ella, but my heart ached for her because he wouldn't open up about his grief over losing their baby.

I don't know how I feel about her interaction with Nathan Donovan and their time together. I think Ella helped him through the loss of his son and the end of his marriage but my feelings about their time together is murky. I didn't like how things ended in Alaska. I wanted to reach out and smack him myself.

Ella through out this novel is dealing with grief, guilt, blame, and finding forgiveness. I think she was able to finally get and give the forgiveness she needed but IF this story continues I wonder if that will remain.

Kerry Lonsdale......wow!! I did not see this one coming and I LOVED it!!!

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to both. This book was a thrill ride.

Last Summer is a captivating new novel by Kerry Lonsdale. Lonsdale shines again by diving into the tough questions: what secrets are we keeping from our spouses/significant others and if you could erase a tragic memory or event completely-would you?

Readers meet journalist Ella Skye and cyber security expert Damien Russell, a golden couple by most standards, during a devastating loss-their unborn son who was killed in a car accident that Ella can't remember. In fact, Ella doesn't remember being pregnant. Lonsdale skillfully peels back the layers of this more-than-meets-the eye story. Ella and Damien appear to have it all but underneath their California cool lifestyle they each have secrets that are harming their relationship. Why doesn't Ella remember the accident-let alone her pregnancy? Just how does handsome outdoor extremist Nathan Donovan-a celebrity and interview Ella can't recall-fit in? This provocative story challenges readers to ask themselves how far are they willing to go to create and protect the life they want.

Her first novel after the acclaimed Everything series, Lonsdale has hit another home run. The story is fast paced, captivating and twisting-her unique style exploring psychological issues and theories continues to be a success. Characters are flawed but draw you in and I found myself rooting for Ella in spite of her shortcomings. The twists keep coming and the ending left me speechless and wanting more-a hallmark of a great read! This book is a must-have in your beach bags this summer.

WOW!! loved this book, it’s definitely a winner. Well written, easy to read with well developed characters. A book you will not want to put down. Twists and turns abound in ways you would never expect. A little romance, a lot of psychological thriller and suspense, this is a book that will stay with you.

Well done! I was hooked from the get-go. This spine-tingling read had elements of a mystery with a twist at the end. A seemingly perfect couple had elements of some distrusts which may have brought on the actions that took place throughout this book. At times, I was led to believe that it was another person who not to trust, and then low and behold, it turns out to be someone else. I don't want to give anything away. Trust me, if you like a good mystery/thriller, you'll enjoy this fast-paced entertaining book. Thank you NetGalley and the author for this ARC.

If you enjoyed Kerry Lonsdale's "Everything" trilogy and the stand-alone "All the Breaking Waves," this is a must read. She is a gifted story teller and writer who excels at creating storylines that take her characters (and readers) in unpredictable directions. I like that!

"Last Summer" has twists and turns, and love and romance and a bit of s-e-x, deception, gorgeous people, and an "OMG" factor that made it hard to put down. The three main characters - Ella, Damien, and Nathan - are, in their own ways, sympathetic and vulnerable, and you feel their desperation as they make their way through life's challenges. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised (and would love) to see a follow up. (Hint, hint!). I am an early reviewer, in exchange for an honest review.

Wow. This book was absolutely amazing. I've read many of Kerry londsdales books and but this may be by far my favorite. I couldn't put the book down once I started. So many times I thought I had everything figured out and i was so wrong. As always the characters are well thought out . They felt so real to me. I could feel the emotions and confusion Ella felt as she tried to find out the truth . Once I got to the last two chapters my heart was pounding and I could not believe what was happening. The ending gave me chills and had me hoping there will be a sequel . I definitely give last summer a 5 . This is one of the best books I've read so far this year.

HOLY MOLY!
First, I typically will read a book this good in one go. This one I had to break down (still had it finished in under 48 hours) to give my heart time to process the emotions.
Secondly, speaking of emotions, the layout of the story takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Further hooking you. The flashbacks allow you to understand more of Ella's heart and allowing you to feel her on a deeper level.
Lastly, the twist! Oh my the twist! I will go no further than that because I refuse to take away anyone's read but it will end far differently than you will suspect.
Kerry, you have done it once again. You've given us a characters who we become emotionally invested in-and love it and them! Thank you for sharing your words!

I devoured this book!!! I loved the premise of this story and haven’t read a book like it! Ella, a journalist, wakes up in the hospital with selective memory loss. Her husband, Damien, is somewhat aloof and not willing to answer any of Ella’s questions. Months go by and she doesn’t recover. Then she gets a call from her boss regarding a story. Before her accident she had spent several days interviewing Nathan, a tv adventurist., but the story had been pulled and never published. Now he wants to finish the interview. She goes to meet Nathan only to find She has no recollection of him either. Is Nathan somehow a link to her memory loss? And so begins the twisted tale of uncovering the truth! I won’t give anything else away, but just when you think you have it figured out you don’t! Great read! This ARC was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

After waking up without her memory following a tragic car crash, Ella’s life spirals into a mass of questions and what-ifs. An incredibly well-written, thoughtful psychological thriller that will make you wonder what truly happened within her marriage, in the past, and what will happen in the future. Don’t miss this one.

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars!
I received the ARC of this book and pre-purchased a copy. I have read all of Kerry Lonsdale’s books and I think she is a gifted, wonderful author. This book is another gem to add to her collection.
As I was reading the book, I thought I had the plot of the book figured out (turned out to be not true!). That was okay to me, since I usually am in this position to guess the outcome when I read the types of books that I do (Women’s Fiction, Romance). I was still completed interested in the book and it was definitely a page-turner. When I was not reading, this book was always on my mind. Now after finishing it, this book remains on my mind and I imagine it will be for a long time. I wrote a few notes to myself about half the way in the read to remind me of my feelings. It is odd to look back at them now, after completing the book, I was so wrong!
Ella Skye, a Senior Features Writer with Luxe Avenue magazine, is trying to replace her lost memories after being in a car accident resulting in the loss her unborn child and waking up in the hospital. The oddest thing is that the selective memory lost comes 5 days after the accident. She cannot remember anything about her pregnancy, and other things related to that time. Her journalist skills take over and this is a mystery that she needs to solve. Ella deduces that two people are the link to her memory loss, her husband, Damien and the person she interviewed last summer, Nathan Donovan. Unfortunately, Damien (the founder and CEO of a private global cybersecurity firm) will not be open and talk to her about the missing memories, is being distant, depressed and angry. Nathan is an outdoor adventurist and TV celebrity. He wants Ella to get to know him again, before telling her what happened between them.
The old saying that you do not know what goes on behind closed doors, kept running through my mind while reading the early part of this book. While on the surface, Ella and Damien seem to have a terrific marriage with no financial cares, take care of their bodies and are physically active, enjoy each other’s company, have a terrific sex life and both have professions they are driven to perform, it still seemed things between them were not so perfect. The fact that Damien was not very sympathetic to Ella after her car accident, death of their unborn child and her selective memory loss spoke so much to me about their relationship.
I do not want to say more about the plot; even what I wrote is too much. I think the book should be read because it is fantastic and not knowing too much about the plot is a good thing.
Kerry Lonsdale has created well-developed characters that are so complex. I thought I knew them and then as the book progressed, I find out I did not know them at all! The plot is excellent. I went through so many different emotions as the story unfolded. I was immersed from the start and was pulled deeper and deeper into story as I read. I was blown away by this book and I know I will be rereading it, which is something I rarely do.

Wow, this book was awesome. It was such a fast read only because I couldn't put it down. It had the suspense of Gone Girl and the sexiness of 50 Shades of Grey. I did not expect the twists in the last 100 pages, and all three characters were so three dimensional. I found myself simultaneously rooting for and screaming at Ella, Nathan and Damien throughout the novel. It's refreshing when characters feel like real people. Read this!

When Ella comes to in the hospital she has no memory of the accident that put her there, or the loss of her unborn child. With no memories of the car accident, she draws on her background as a journalist to try to uncover the events that led up to that day. When she’s assigned to interview Nathan Donovan, an adventurer, Ella learns that she actually interviewed the man the previous summer, but she has no memory and no record of the meeting. Now, as she meets Donovan again, a man who lost his own son, a man who may have the answers that Ella is so desperately seeking.
