If you feel like you are unable to gain control of your day to day goings-on; buy this book on day one. An excellent and quick read with impactful action items throughout. I feel privileged to have been part of the launch team for this book and will keep it handy until I can implement some of the new habits discussed within. A must-read for business owners, leaders and aspiring leaders alike. Well worth the time investment.

Micheal Hyatt's Free To Focus is a must read for everyone, but especially those of us that get caught up in the rat race of chasing our tails to only get no where fast. I too often found myself racing from thing to thing and not being focused and deliberate on completing any given task. I am so grateful for this book, because it was able to help me focus in on what I was created to do and be -- and do it well! And have a place in my day for enjoying my family. The book is filled with great insights and challenges to help determine what is important in your life, help reprioritize, and set new goals to move forward in a focused, intentional way.

Free to Focus book by Michael Hyatt is a complete productivity game changer.

Michael Hyatt’s Free to Focus Productivity system is one of the most complete and doable systems I have come across. Everyone gets 168 hours a week and yet for some, it never feels like enough. Work tends to take up the largest share of that time. Most people think productivity is about finding or saving time so that you can cram more into that time. But it’s not! It’s about making our time work for us so that we can free up some time and do what we want to do.

In Michael’s book Free to Focus he reveals to readers nine proven ways to win at work. We are finally free to succeed in the rest of life —our health, relationships, hobbies, and more. He helps readers redefine for themselves their:

Goals
Evaluate what’s working
Cut out the non-essential
Focus on the most important tasks
Manage time and energy
And build momentum for a lifetime of success.

The Free to Focus system is based on 3 basic steps (stop, cut, act), each step, then, consists of 3 mutually supportive actions Stop = formulate, evaluate, rejuvenate = 7 productive life-sustaining practices, Cut = calendar (triage), automate, delegate, Act = consolidates, designate, activate. When adopting these strategies a self-perpetuating system emerges that, even under unfavorable circumstances (passing through different stages of life, etc.), helps you to fulfill your life mission.

While the process Michael gives for Free to Focus Productivity, is outstanding, he does not just stop there. He also gives us resources in the book, as well as on his website, that will walk you through how to accomplish each one of these steps.

If you are looking to take control of your life and improve your productivity, I highly recommend this book to you.

The dollar value of lost productivity does matter, but it’s not what really hurts. The true cost comes from all the dreams left unexplored, the talents left untried, the goals left not pursued. Michael spends some time-sharing another tool to help us figure where each task that we do will fall in our energy areas of like to dislike and draining. The more we stay in our high energy and like area the more productivity we will get to experience. More of our personal dreams being accomplished will be the true result.

Now make one of your best choices today and go get the book, Free to Focus.

**I was fortunate to have a preview copy and this book is going to be one that I read, again and again, to glean every ounce of insight into making my life more productive and enjoyable. **

As a listener to Michael Hyatt's podcast, I jumped at the opportunity to join the launch team for his new book, so I could get an early peek. Having so many of his productivity tips in one place is helpful. The book is full of tools to help the reader determine what is truly the most important use of their time and how to avoid getting sucked into the many distractions we all face on a daily basis.

I enjoyed the productivity exercises in Michael Hyatt’s book, Free to Focus. When you apply the tools to your situation, you will see the wisdom that comes from Michael Hyatt's experience and be #FreeToFocus.

As an author and course creator with a home office I thought I had enough margin in my life. Using the tools made me realize what was important to me and why. Having examples of other people using the tools gave me even more ideas!

Here’s My Productivity Vision™ in six sentences: I do social media marketing for my business Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I work Tuesday and Thursdays for my mastermind members. I have a companion pass on the airlines and travel with my husband. I exercise daily, either yoga, swim, walk the beach, and an exercise class or weight training. I do gardening on Saturdays to make our property beautiful. I go to Church on Sunday. I plan exciting excursions, workshops, seminars, retreats, vacations, and pilgrimages for my community.

Selecting three words succinctly shows what matters most to me: Business, Exercise, and Travel. Essentially, this means Career, Health, and Relationships. Reducing the vision of what I want my life to look like to just three words gave me clarity as I described what I would gain or lose by achieving the vision. My online education business is important to save for retirement. My health and physical fitness is important to sleep well and manage stress. I want to spend time with my husband to create memories together. I plan community events to benefit others and develop my leadership skills.

With my step-children grown, I’m already free to focus. Now I know what matters most, which is to leave a legacy of love through my teaching programs online!

In Free To Focus, Michael Hyatt gives practical, actionable tips for getting the right things done. Productivity is not about getting it all done, it's about focus to get the right things done.

Free to Focus is Michael Hyatt‘s best to date—and his other books are excellent! I really like how Free to Focus serves as both a step-by-step guide and a personal coach combined. While reading the book I felt inspired to make some immediate changes to my routines and start some major delegating. In fact, at one point I took a break from reading the book to plan my delegation instead. After having finished reading the book cover to cover, I can’t wait to go back and systematically complete all of the guided steps and resources. A+!!!

Sometimes you need to realize you need to stop the way you have always thought and start at the beginning to see things for how they should be. We are taught from early ages how things should be, but we often don't stop and figure out why we do things the way we do, we just keep pushing and pushing even when we end up causing distress to ourselves.
Michael Hyatt's book, Free to Focus helps you think more simplistically and work through what is necessary to get the important things done, rather than just working to work. As you may have heard before more is not always better. This book helps you to walk through more of the why of things you are doing. This is truly the smarter way to work in all facets of life.
I highly recommend this book, it is a very simple and fast read but packed full of extremely useful information.

was lucky enough to get early access to an electronic version of Michael Hyatt’s new book, Free to Focus. However, the best testimonial for the book is that I bought a hard copy of the book for my bookshelf.
I read the book around 4 weeks back on a weekend, stopping to complete some of the thinking exercises Michael suggests as one proceeds through the book. Here are my most powerful takeaways from the book-
1. Stop to think about what success means to me, and review tasks I am doing and instead think in terms of ways to complete projects that really take me forward in my journey. Michael rightly says it is not “getting things done”, it is more about “getting the right things done”.
With this paradigm shift in thinking, I have been able to complete a number of daily tasks and habits for the last month since I read the book using the pointers in the book.
2. Thinking of the activities during the week in terms of morning and evening rituals, on stage, off stage and backstage activities. This is a powerful way to think about what one does during the week, and in my case, made me feel less guilty about the times when I was recovering from intense focused work by spending time with the kids, exercising or reading a book, as this off stage activity is important to sustain the on stage activity.
3. Celebrating wins along the way. While this seems common sense, this can be hard to remember to do consistently, both as an individual and as a leader of a team. I have made marks on my calendar where I will pause, congratulate myself and the team for work well done and course correct if things are not going to plan.
4. Saying “no” to something means saying “yes” to something that is more valuable. I have declined good offers over the last month that I would have normally said yes to and I actually good about this!
5. Dividing goals into achievement and habit goals and having the “SMARTER” goal set up in my planner has helped make some activities that were normally a drag into a rather enjoyable habit.

The overarching theme of the book is that being productive does not mean getting more things done faster through hacks and checking off items on a to do list.. Rather it means getting just the right things done as steps towards completing big projects that move the needle forward, while having time to do the things one wants to do.
I highly recommend this book for any one who wants to change the way they work and think for the better!!

If you have ever felt like you were running on a hamster wheel and could not seem to find a way out then this is the book for you. Michael Hyatt has given individuals a way to assess his/her productivity to really define and get clear on whether or not one should engage in certain tasks or find a way to delegate. Filled with exercises and tools, this is a super reference to help anyone reprioritize their focus to ensure that the important tasks are being accomplished based on what he/she values to gain more freedom. Reading this book helps to get one out of the mentality of “if I do more I will accomplish more and therefore be more productive.” Unlike some other books that address productivity, Mr. Hyatt has an affable, easy going writing style that reads like two friends having a conversation while breaking down the content into manageable bites. The best part is that this book makes creating a productivity habit easier to start and gives one the confidence to keep it up long term. I highly recommend.
I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book provided by Netgalley.

Michael Hyatt's proven strategies are much-needed in our driven world where all we hear about is hustle! If you feel like you are drowning in work, especially work you do not love, you have to pick up this book. Michael does not just point out a problem, he gives tested strategies and tools for ending the overwhelm.

“Here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place,” the Red Queen tells Alice. “If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!” (Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland)

No one can keep up with the Red Queen. And running faster doesn’t help if you’re pointed in the wrong direction. It’s time to rethink the whole model. (Michael Hyatt, Free to Focus)

“Free to Focus” is not your parents’ productivity book.

Productivity is not about getting more things done; it’s about getting the right things done. The important question is not, “Can I do this job faster, easier, and cheaper?” It’s,” Should I be doing this job at all?”

Productivity should free you to pursue what’s most important to you.

“Free to Focus” is not just a book, its’ an entire course on productivity. It includes links to tools the reader can use to assess their own productivity, identify their own goals and gain their own freedom.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to be set free from running the rat race in order to run their own race.

Do you want to be freed to focus?

Are you accomplishing all you want to during your day at work or are you so overwhelmed with so many irons in the fire it seems like you never accomplish anything? Does your today begin just like yesterday, with the same set of tasks on your "To Do" list plus a few new ones?

Regardless of how you answer those questions for yourself and your current situation, you will be doing yourself, your employer, your family, and friends a favor if you get your copy of Free To Focus today and learn what Michael Hyatt has to share regarding not just getting things done but getting the right things done.

You will learn that there are some things you should not be doing that are affecting what you really should be focusing on. Do you have a “Not To Do List”?

The title of the book is Free to Focus and if you read and apply the FTF principles, you will be “freed” to focus and will achieve more by doing less. I expect that result for myself as I learn and apply the principles inside.

If you are anything like me, you have already read many other books or techniques to become more productive at work. You know what to do but, for some reason, are not doing it. Free To Focus might be just the catalyst you need to get you over that hump between knowing and doing. You might see that one idea that makes the light bulb come on for you. Everyone is different so that light bulb moment is different for all of us.

If I had to pick a couple of quotes from the book that stood out to me, it would be these, one from Steve Jobs and one from the author, Michael Hyatt.

"I'm actually as proud of the things we haven't done as the things I have done." ~ Steve Jobs

"Even if we hate saying no, we must understand that every yes inherently contains a no." ~ Michael Hyatt

This book will benefit anyone who reads it and applies the proven ideas inside. I give it five stars because I know it can change lives for the better. I hope you get your copy today and become one of those changed lives soon to be freed to focus.

Michael Hyatt’s book title says it all in a nutshell. In this crazy, topsy, turvy world, we crave and need to focus on the things that matter most. With some many distractions, increasing digital notifications taking up our most valuable asset, - time, this book enables us to not only get back on track, but gives us practical tools that will enhance our ability to deliver and our quality of life. The author has a gift for simplifying complexity and breaking it down into bite size pieces that are easy to understand and empowers us with techniques that can be applied again and again. Think of this book as a recipe not just for productivity, but a gift of freedom.

If you want to stop feeling overwhelmed, and gain control over your life, then this book is a must read. It’s a keeper!

I found this book to be very helpful. Like many people, I struggle with staying productive and managing my time. I say yes to way to much stuff and find that there simply is not enough time to cover all the commitments made.

If you find that you have a similar struggle as I do. This book can help you. Determining goals and then deciding to eliminate the stuff that interferes or sabotages achieving those goals has been a challenging experience. However, now that I have engaged this process over a few weeks since first picking up Free to Focus I can absolutely see life moving in a less pressure-filled direction. Thank you to the author for helping this guy create more space and air in a busy life.

If you are still reading this review, my suggestion is to commit on the front end to do all of the exercises. It will take setting aside some time. But it is very much worth it!
