A magnificent tour de force from Fiona McIntosh, set in the sixties but with a background in WW2. Atmospheric locations and lovingly drawn characters populate this epic tale of greed and retribution. Highly recommended.

The Pearl Thief by Fiona McIntosh is an enjoyable read set during the second world war and into the 1960s. McIntosh is a skilled writer and it is clear that the story was well researched. I couldn't put it down, absorbing characters, tense story and a great twist at the end.

I want to thank Netgalley for the opportunity to read an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Brilliant. I was captivated by this story from the start. This is a story of strength and love and heartbreak. It is about the horrific acts carried out in World War 2 in Prague and how some of the survivors coped. I would definitely recommend this book.

I absolutely loved this book. A beautiful and tragic story of a woman who has spent her life recovering from the trauma of her childhood during WWII. I couldn't put it down, absorbing characters, tense story and a great twist at the end. I also loved the epilogue, such a relief to be uplifted after such a roller coaster.. Thank you for a great read.
