I thought Alice Feeney’s first book ‘Sometimes I lie’ was fantastic but this, her second novel, is even better. I was hooked from the first few pages and the pace never let up throughout ending in an explosive climax!!! The only thing I wasn’t so keen on were some of the themes she touched upon.

So Aimee Sinclair - the girl you think you know but can’t remember where from. Aimee is an actress currently working on a film at Pinewood Studios in London. She is on her way home to her husband who she isn’t sure she loves anymore - last night she told him she wanted a divorce, only knot she isn’t sure. On arriving home, no one is home and on the coffee table lies her husband’s wallet, keys and phone. How can he have just disappeared? She contacts the police who clearly think she has something to hide and some involvement in his disappearance.

The story unfolds both in the present day, in the days following her husband disappearing and is peppered with chapters about her childhood. Some of the incidents are difficult to read but they all add to the story.

I honestly cannot emphasise just how good this book was. I don’t want to risk saying anything else about the story as I don’t want to inadvertently reveal any spoilers.

I like when books tie up all the loose ends and in the main this did. However as with ‘Sometimes I lie’ you are left wondering about one tiny piece of thread.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

WOW!! I absolutely loved this book!! I was gripped from the first page and could not put it down. I Know Who You Are is definitely a story that will stay with me for a long time and I was shocked at the big reveal. There are some very dark subjects covered and I experienced a few "ick" moments where I was repulsed by what I was reading. A solid five stars from me.

The twists and turns in this novel by Alice Feeney keep you on the edge of your seat to the end. A good read.

I LOVED this! It's so refreshing to read a genuinely unpredictable book. The twists fly at you from all directions, so much so, I had to devour this in one sitting because I just had to know who and why was behind a plot to frame actress Aimee Sinclair for her husband's murder.

Skilfully written, this will have you on the edge of your seat biting your nails!

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC without obligation.

I have been looking forward to this book for a long time and it did not dissapoint! Aimee Sinclair is an actress who comes home one day to find her husband missing and it's looking like not all is as it seems, this story is full of twists and turns, stalkers and liars. Absolutely brilliant and would one million per cent recommend it to readers that enjoy a somewhat creepy phycological thriller. An easy 5 stars from me.

I really enjoyed this book, particularly the two timelines. Some of the descriptions of Aimee’s childhood were difficult to read but I think enhanced the backstory sufficiently as to not be gratuitous. I admit I was intrigued all the way though as to what had happened and how had it happened. Great plotting and storytelling.

This was a very twisted story and may have been a bit over the top but absorbing nonetheless. It had a very dramatic conclusion which was a bit implausible

I Know Who You Are is the 2nd novel I have read from Alice Feeney and I still haven’t absolutely loved anything from her yet. However this one was absolutely addictive! So many twists and turns throughout and the overall plot was so twisted that you’ll probably read the ending with your mouth hanging open. Sadly for me, this wasn’t in a good way and I was left feeling more grossed out than anything. There were also just moments which felt as though they were added to pad out the book and served no purpose to plot/character development etc. And were never mentioned again. Meh.

However the novel was also hard to swallow at points, with some absolutely heart-wrenching moments of pain: “I wonder if the rest of the world would still call it rape if they knew my husband did it to me”. The ending had some twists and turns which I didn’t quite expect, however it did feel a bit too far fetched for my personal tastes.
Content warning for: Rape, Sexual assault, child abuse, incest.

“Not everybody wants a to be somebody. Some people just want to be somebody else.”

There are some books you read and cant get out of your head the moment you finish the last page. This was one of those books for me! I am still trying to process everything and have so many thoughts and questions running through my head.

I have seen a lot of feedback for this psychological thriller just recently and the reaction seems to be like marmite...you either love it, cant get it out of your head, or you hate it and think it is too far fetched. If you take anything from this review, please let it be this - ignore other peoples opinions of this storyline, pick it up with an open mind and read it for yourself. I saw so many reviewers that I respect say this was not for them, and knowing I enjoyed similar reads to them I expected I would feel the same way too. OH BOY WAS I WRONG!!

I write my reviews based on the emotions I feel whilst reading the book but also on how I feel when its finished. The more twisted a storyline is, and provided it has been written in a way that is easy to follow along with, the more I love it and that is exactly what has happened here. My mind is still spinning trying to process what I have actually just finished. I honestly couldn’t put this down, so much so that I read it within two evenings and it only took me that long because I had to adult and go to work in the middle! This is a page turning, up all nighter because you want to finish it kind of story.

This storyline was disturbing, dark and full of surprises. It is set in London and based around two main characters; Aimee & Ben Sinclair. It is written from both the past and present perspectives of Aimee, to help give character depth to the way Aimee is in her adulthood life. There were certain aspects that connected with me deep in the soul and bothered me for quite a while afterwards. This includes the moment with poor little cheeks the hamster and the HappyMeal from McDonalds being squashed on the floor of the dirty toilets in the early memories of little Aimee. The ending had me though...”he lost his head”!

What a storyline! I am still disturbed even now as I am writing this review! It’s dark, sickening and twisted but I loved it for all those reasons.

I know who you are has definitely left me with that “you’ve got to be kidding” feeling and if you enjoyed “My Lovely Wife” by Samantha Downing then I have no doubt you will enjoy this one too.

As someone who absolutely loved Alice Feeney's first book Sometimes I Lie I was ridiculously excited to get the chance to read an advance copy of her latest one. I really love her writing, the complex characters she creates and the sudden twists that will literally leave your jaw on the floor. Unfortunately however, while there is a lot to love in this book I'm afraid the ending kind of ruined it. There are a lot of twisty thrillers around at the moment and I can understand the temptation to push the boundaries to make your story stand out but I'm afraid for me this pushed things a little too far, becoming unbelievable and a little ridiculous. It's a pity, as up until that point there was a lot to like.

Main character Aimee Sinclair for example was wonderful as the unreliable narrator. As an actress on an upward trajectory she knows how to play a part, to show the world what they expect to see. When her husband suddenly vanishes without a trace it's difficult to tell how she really feels about it (and possibly more importantly, whether or not she had anything to do with it) but it's clear there were problems in the marriage. As other strange things start happening around Aimee it becomes increasingly difficult to work out what's real and what's not and as she is constantly pretending it's hard to tell how she really feels. Consequently I was never too sure what to think about her. I think I liked her and was rooting for her but there were moments when I really had my doubts.

Interspersed with the Aimee in the present day is the story of a little girl in Ireland who wanders away from home to look at the pair of shoes she really wants in a shop window. She knows she's not supposed to be out on her own and she's not supposed to talk to strangers but she does and bad things happen.

This for me was the more gripping (and horrifying) part of the story. It's often dark and occasionally very disturbing (there's mental and physical abuse, and violence) but I found it difficult to stop reading it (although I may have skimmed over one particularly disturbing scene). It's clear there's some kind of connection between these events and the odd things happening to Aimee in the present but it's pretty much impossible to figure out what.

The big reveal at the end however just didn't work for me. I'll try to keep this vague to avoid spoilers but while it was surprising it just wasn't believable.

Anyway, regardless of the ending it is a well written and gripping story so it hasn't put me off Feeney as an author. I will still be looking out for whatever she writes next.

This was a good read, a slightly different plot, but my pet hate of switching eras, but still I enjoyed it. It really was quite difficult to guess exactl how it would end, so it was quite a surprise when it did end in that way.

The rather harrowing story of a young girl removed from her family and brought up in a rather harsh way by the new "family" took a little bit of reading. It is hard to read of a child struggling in that way.
The person she became sounded interesting and the plot developments from there were rather different.
All in all an enjoyable book.

Yes, I enjoyed this book very much. It didn't follow the path that I thought it would and the ending was a total surprise. It was interesting right to the end. A good read and one to be recommended.

This was gripping - kept me hooked to the shock end. Lots of twists and turns and plenty to keep those pages turning. The first book I've read by this writer, but it won't be the last.

Definitely one of the best books I’ve read lately! So many twists, and the final one I could never off guessed at! Definitely worth a read!

I hadn't read anything by Alice Feeney before but loved the blurb of this book. Aimee is an upcoming actress with secrets. She wakes one morning to find that her husband Ben is missing and we soon discover that the police suspect Aimee.

Set during two timelines, we follow Aimee's struggles to find out what happened to Ben as she tries not to be too open with the police. Aimee has secrets and it's as the story takes the reader back to her traumatic childhood that we slowly learn what those secrets are.

There were parts of this book that I loved and other bits that I struggled with. Overall I did enjoy, I Know Who You Are. It's dark, full of twists, and I defy anyone to guess the shocking ending.

This book is seriously disturbing. The storyline has numerous twists and is very well written with some very nasty characters along the way. The ending was shocking!

Aimee Sinclair is an actress and thanks to being cast in a lead role in a hot new film, she is about to become a very well known actress indeed! Her fame is just reaching the point where she is being recognised in real life but who really knows Aimee? Her husband Ben who has vanished after an explosive argument with Aimee the night before? Her co-star Jack who Ben suspected of being more than just a colleague of Aimee's? Or a fellow actress and rival who Aimee suspects may have had an affair with Ben? The big question is - where is Ben and what does Aimee have to do with his disappearance?
The book covers two timelines - Aimee's present day life and her traumatic abduction and upbringing as a youngster which works fairly well but at times I was doubtful that the childhood memories were Aimee's at all.
Overall I did enjoy this book. There are plenty of twists although some of them are slightly unrealistic at times. The shocking ending though was just brilliant and one that I truly did not see coming at all.
A very good read for fans of psychological thrillers and a solid 4 stars from me.
