Rosalind and surgeon Dr Peter Sutter, fall for one another in a heartbeat and Judith Deborah has the reader right on board. How I wanted them to connect; how I hoped their relationship would progress beyond physical desire; how I loved their love. I laughed; I cried; I was incensed by the intrusion and boldness of the ex-wife. It is true that I was also surprised (and perhaps despondent?) at said ex's involvement in the pinnacle moment of the tale, however, all is forgiven.
A romance for the thinking reader: I whole-heartedly disagree with other reviewers criticism of Deborah's use of the wider English vocabulary. How refreshing to have a romance that is not only suited to lying half-cut in a fluorescent bikini under a parasol.

Rosalind is a simply beautiful story of love. Peter is a successful heart surgeon, divorced and not looking for a relationship or for love. When he meets Rosalind she beguiles him. The love between them is almost magical. The prose is lyrical and lovely. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A good book about chance encounters and loneliness. A surgeon falls for a patients relative. He cannot stop thinking about her and it leads to a whirlwind romance.

I am aware of the low ratings this book has been getting, but I fell in love with the cover and I just knew I had to read it. I was pleasantly surprised, I didn’t know I would love it as much as I did. “Rosalind” is a quick and lovely read about two very normal people, both lonely and at a mature point in their lives where they can almost say that they have “been there and done that” in terms of career and human relationships.

Still, this unlikely couple met, fall in love and found new meaning in each other. It was a bit of a slow start, so I was really shocked at the events towards the end. What seems to be a simple story of a whirlwind romance turned out to be a heartbreaking testament to the power of love and loyalty. Dr. Peter and Rosalind will definitely stay with me long after I closed the book.

It was fun to read about all the medical procedure and jargon. There were a lot of references I did not understand but it added to the dry humor that is a consistent theme to the story. The stark contrast between the character’s erotic thoughts vs the clinical/medical topics also provided an interesting reading experience. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m just glad I enjoyed it and I hope more readers will give it a chance.

This book surprise me. I thought the author rush everything in like how Peter fall in love at the first sight with Rosalind and how Rosalind reciprocate it.

Buth then, the bumps appeared toward the end. It was definitely a surprise. A plot twist you never expect.

I also love how the book end, because if it go the other way, the ending would make we feel terrible, but with how author choose to end the story, it give us a bittersweet feeling instead.

3.5 stars. I'm perplexed with how I feel about this one. On one hand, it was beautiful and stirring and completely romantic. In the same breath, it was a bit cold and clinical and whatever the word is that means someone uses too many big words for the average reader to understand. I laughed out loud a couple times, I definitely teared up, I loved the love between these two. But, I also had to look up a lot of words and the medical descriptions seemed to jolt me out of the story. It's very clear this author either is very familiar with the medical world/anatomy, or she is one heck of a researcher!! In short, I absolutely loved the storyline. The writing was overall well done. I could have done without all the big words and medical descriptions.

I love two things about this book: the cover (it's abstract, simple and just caught my eye, like a snap!) and I love the awkwardness of Peter and Rosalind. They are two characters, who are not particularly warm and easy to like (as you'd expect in any romantic relationship or something like it) but it's who they are and in the particular context of this story and their encounter it surprised me.
So, I was looking to be blown away or smitten, but none of that happened...and instead I met two characters who despite being plain fell for each other and then life happened.
Isn't that life?

i had high hopes for this book. unfortunately, it all fell short for me. the characters weren't exactly likable... the plot and storyline were slow to the punch ;/

The writing is really good, it read fluently but the characters weren't really likable. I thought that Peter was just a poor awkward stud and Rosalind seemed like a mysterious woman at first. She's pretty mundane (which is not a bad thing), but I couldn't grasp why Peter was so attracted to her besides her looks. They fall in love quickly but I didn't feel a spark or connection between them. Their relationship moves fast and so does the tragic ending. Very flat storyline and characters not developed in depth. It's a short novel and a quick read but very abstract, making it hard to sympathize with the characters.

The cover for Rosalind is very alluring, but unfortunately, I don't think this book is for me.

I didn't really like Peter or Rosalind, so it was hard to feel invested in their romance. Peter starts out creepy and there isn't much more added to his character to make him more likeable. Rosalind is supposed to be the unique artsy individual, but she has a traditional mindset. Normally, this wouldn't be a bad thing, but in one particular scene where they mention Weinstein, I lost all respect for Rosalind. Their romance also seemed lacking. I don't know what Peter loves about Rosalind, especially since his initial impression of her is merely based on her physical appearance. They also seem to develop a whirlwind romance (spanning over a few days), but there isn't really much substance to their interactions to make me believe they quickly fell in love with each other.

The story was well written, but the characters and general storyline weren't very likeable, so I didn't enjoy the story as much as I'd hoped.
