This book was not as good as I had expected.
However it was an ok read but it was quite predictable. It is still worth a read though

I quite liked it, but not enough I'm afraid. Couldn't get on with Natalie's way of talking, which made it difficult for me to read. Got a third of the way in and couldn't finish, but I'm sure others will disagree and enjoy it a lot, which is why I've given 3 stars.

Is your house as safe as you think?
Natalie spent most of her childhood feeling afraid. So when she moved into her cosy little flat in St Ives and met her three friendly neighbours, she knew at once it was somewhere she'd feel safe.

Before long, Natalie's neighbours have become the family she never had. Kind, motherly Morwenna, serious, reliable Nigel, and sweet, anxious Daniel. They collect each other's mail, water each other's plants, and share each others lives. But as Natalie knows all too well, the people who are closest to you can also be the most dangerous. And this house is not as safe as she thinks...

Very scary read that often felt real, I constantly checked my doors to make sure they were locked! Great book that completely freaked me out!

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC of #IknowYoureThere

I had a really hard time following this one, Too many characters/back stories that seemed superfluous, and I connected with absolutely no one in the book. It starts as a slow burn but never really ignites.

I Know You’re there by Sarah Simpson is next on my list to read! This one promises to be a thrilling page-turner. What happens if the home you have isn’t the safe haven you think it is? I love this premise. I also love books that take place in England! I’m not sure why but lately I am really drawn to British authors. Maybe I need to head over to London or the Cotswolds for some inspiration?

Here’s what you need to know about this book:

Oh my god.
Gripping. Suspenseful, atmospheric and creepy.
I could not put this down.
Simpson weaves a fabulously chilling story of friends and housemates that find themselves embroiled in a deadly game of secrets and deceit as each hide painful pasts, terrible memories and one holds a secret more deadly and far more disturbing than the rest could imagine.
Natalie with her sweet demeanour and anxiety ridden past.
Mo with her cheery attitude and painful past.
Daniel with his sweet naivete and terrible memories.
Nigel with his enigmatic ways and sorrow filled past.
But one holds more than pain, more than terrible..
Simpson weaves a chilling take right up to the disturbing, gasp worthy last pages.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book. This story revolves around characters living in the same apartment building. Many secrets unfold throughout the book. While i felt the middle portion was a bit slow moving, it picked up toward the end and kept me guessing with a surprise twist at the end. I enjoyed this book and would definitely read more by this author in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and Aria for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Natalie lives by herself in a little flat in St. Ives. There are 2 flats per floor of the building. Her neighbours become the family that she doesn't have in her life. Morwenna, Nigel, and Daniel. They all have one thing in common with each other, they have secrets from their past that they are not willing to share with each other. Their sense of secure homes vanishes when they realize that someone from their past lives is targeting them.

The story started out great but the read became slow and difficult at times, the plot not moving quickly forward. Very little is filled and fleshed out in regards to what each character is hiding from the others. The ending while surprising is not very exciting.

I know you’re there is about Natalie who moves into an apartment building in beautiful St Ives Who meets the other residents Morweena, Nigel and anxious Daniel. They build up a relationship with each other. But after an abusive childhood Natalie finds it hard to trust people. So, can she trust her neighbours. Also, her father is released from prison after 14 years. He writes to her with a letter trying to connect with her, but also at the same time weird things start to happen and she wonders if its her father doing it.
Thank you NetGalley and Aria for a copy of I know you’re there. This opinion is mine personally. I was looking forward to reading this book after reading the burb but, I am afraid this book wasn’t for me. I couldn’t connect with this book at all. There was no likeable characters and I found this book quite boring. There was nothing that made me want to keep reading. So I DNF this at 30 %

I wasn't crazy about this one. I couldn't connect with any of the characters and there were too many side stories to throw the reader off the "big reveal." I had figured this one out about halfway through, but I read on to see if I was right. I honestly struggled to finish this book. On a bright note, the cover is really nice! Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

This book was so dark and so emotionally charged! There were times I was so lost inside this book that I actually spooked myself out! What an awesome plot, so well written and the end did justice to the beginning and middle!

Excellent read, full of slowly revealing twists and turns. A novel set in a family of ‘choice’, four strangers sharing a four unit building and familial secrets. This is a slow building, calculated novel - recommended!

Natalie lives in a building made up of 4 flats. Her (main) neighbors are Mo (Natalie's best friend), Daniel and Nigel.
Her father's 'abuse in Natalie's early years has taught her to trust no one. Natalie is dating a very controlling man, Mark. Little by little, Natalie becomes less enamored of Mark.

Notes are left in each of the apartment's mailboxes. These notes are cryptic but hit home to all four residents in the flat. Also, when Natalie finds out that her abusive father is out of prison and wants to connect to her, she feels as if she is being stalked and is scared beyond belief.

All four of the characters who live in the building are flawed. But as the story says - who isn't? The true colors of the well developed main characters slowly unravel. A truly suspenseful finish to this read!

Many Thanks to Aria and NetGalley for the chance to read and review!

A tale of neighbors and the relationships between them. The story is told by alternating chapters between the different characters which did make it hard at times to really get to know them in depth. I do think the portrayal of the mental health difficulties and challenges experiences by the characters was explored accurately and believably. Overall, I would recommend.

Slow build up racing into a pulse pounding end. Four people come together into an assembled family. They all occupy flats within the building. Everyone has their secrets and now someone seems to know and is slowly torturing them with cryptic messages and strange happenings. Is the danger coming from within or outside?

This book started out a bit slow and with a lot of characters to remember. As it progressed, the story became more interesting and it sucked me in!

I Know You're There by Sarah Simpson is a dark look at what has commonly become known as the urban family. When circumstances take us away from our blood relationships, our network of friends become a family of our own choosing. Such is the case for Natalie, a young woman who is living in St. Ives and sharing a house with Morwenna (Mo), Daniel and Nigel. Having emerged from an abusive childhood, Natalie takes comfort in sharing a roof with these three individuals who provide a sense of familial closeness that she has not previously known. But everyone has secrets, and the residents of the house are no exception.

After a series of notes are delivered and a rash of unusual events take place, Natalie is convinced that her abusive father is trying to make contact. But why are these mysterious events coinciding with the suspicious behaviours of her housemates, and why is she finding it so difficult to know whom she can trust? Someone is playing games. Someone is not what they seem.

This is a dark and creepy tale that will keep you guessing, and will provide goosebumps aplenty.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Aria for this ARC.

I didn't hate this book, but I also didn't love it. I don't want to say anything bad about this book because it really wasn't bad. It was just predictable and typical. I didn't connect with any of the characters and finished to get to the end to see if my guesses were correct. I would give this 2.5 stars, bumped up to 3.
