I loved this book, it was funny...laugh out loud in parts. I cared about the main characters and the pregnancy and birth was pretty spot on. I will definitely be reading other books by this author.

This book was so funny, Lil, best friend Jess, Max, one night stand, mountaineer and now father to be, - all characters you can’t help but like. But the rest of the cast, parents, friends, colleagues are all great too. The book is joyful, poignant, and one one that I had difficulty in putting down. Read it, you won’t be sorry

This book chronicles how lil comes to terms with this situation and prepares herself for such a life changing event, it is funny, entertaining and very down to earth!

What Happen’s Now is a laugh-out-loud ‘chicklit’ that’s sure to keep you entertained from start to finish. It’s a trope along the lines of Knocked-Up, where our highly likeable heroine, Lil, finds herself pregnant after a one-night stand. There are many funny moments as Lil discovered the warts-and-all truths about pregnancy in a no-holds-barred and honest account.

There are some fairly detailed sex-scenes and some crude language in parts which may not be for everyone but neither feature very heavily in the book. The supporting characters are well drawn out and engaging and overall it was a truly enjoyable read that I raced through.

I needed a quick, easy and unconplicated read and this book definitely fit the bill. I enjoyed reading about Lil and her relationships with her family and friends - very realistic and the modern communication in dating was on point. This was a book you could take on holiday and dip in and out of. As a teacher myself the field trip situation was incredibly accurate and funny but I did feel for Lil. A great summer read, though looking back the main storyline was quite flimsy - it actually didn’t matter because I preferred the side storylines anyway!

A laugh out loud page turner with fantastic characters and settings, perfect for the Summer holidays. A little warning though, it is sexually graphic so if that offends you, probably better you leave it on the shelf.

Great, easy lighthearted read that manages to be both believable and funny . Lil Bailey a teacher in a prep school in an upmarket area of London lives in a tiny flat in Brixton She is ,just out of an 8 year relationship with whom she thought was ‘the one’ She decides to get back into dating , swiping right she encounters Max. Meeting up in a pub they have a great time talking and then have wonderful sex
. Fast forward a few weeks and Lil discovers that she’s pregnant ,Max appears to be ignoring her and she’s not sure how her Headteacher will take the news . She discovers that Max is the rich ,eligible son of Lord and Lady Rushbrooke and a mountaineer - maybe he’s not deliberately ignoring her after all .
Her journey through pregnancy whilst teaching young impressionable boys is both funny and moving. An ideal read for the beach ,poolside or garden this summer

A Funny read, a light hearted type of romance between two very different people bought together by a blip!

I loved Lil a very normal woman who experienced life like most of us, it's the things she thinks and wants to to say that are very entertaining too!

Here's a couple of excerpts I highlighted

Lil, you’ve shagged someone with a Wikipedia page!’ ‘Modern romance,’ I said, getting up to peer over her shoulder.

Cosmo. Will either become prime minister or a mass murderer. Or both. No, I couldn’t say that. Hmmm. I’d have to say he had ‘clear ambition’.

Max is a climber/explorer not that Lil knows this. His charming on the first date and turned out to be an energetic lover on their one night stand!

The story follows them trying to find their way through the life turning event coming.

I read the book in one day and was rooting for them. Lil didn't need Max as she had a great support team of weird and wacky friends.

Entertaining, funny, cute and full of hope.

What Happens Now ...

This is a perfect beach/pool read it's a quick entertaining read with a few "laugh out loud" moments. For the cynic in me it's a bit unrealistic but for the romantic in me it's a lovely feel good book.

The story is about 30 something Lil who after being dumped for a younger model finds herself in the world of online dating and then being ghosted by the handsome Max, who of course also turns out to be rich (eye roll), after a one night stand. Throw into the mix an unexpected pregnancy and Lil deciding to go it alone ... so, what happens now? .....

Well you will have to read the book to find that out!

Another good book from Sophie Money-Coutts, if you haven't read The Plus One yet I recommend that too.

Thank you to Net Galley for the advanced copy.

Lil is finally back on the dating scene, after a long relationship ended badly. She is pleasantly surprised to find herself across the table from Max, an attractive and interesting mountaineer. One thing leads to another, which leads to  ... a baby?!

As you might expect, this book was light, fluffy and definitely in the 'prosecco and babies' category, with a smattering of the aristocracy and finer things in life (think art gallery openings, mansions, money no issue). I found the Prologue and first few chapters quite an effort to get into - a detailed description of peeing on a stick, before 60 pages of justifying how Lil had got to that point. And I also didn't like that the baby was referred to as a particular sex, before later explaining that Lil thought the baby was for a particular reason - it read like an editing error.

What made it stand out from the rest, however, was the character of Lil, who was fiesty, rational (where possible) and showed some sense in the decisions that she made. Her experience of pregnancy was rough and realistic. Lil also had really good relationships with her Mum, step-dad, friends and colleagues ... it was genuinely nice to read about these strong relationships that were written in a wholesome, yet lightly realistic way. They felt wholesome, and rightly so.

This was an absolutely brilliant, funny, quirky novel on modern relationships and romance. . Coming out of a failed 8 year relationship, lil goes on an online dating site and meets up with a handsome mountain climber Max . Despite her best intentions she falls into bed with him on their first date and thereafter follows the inevitable fallout from failed contraception. This is a happy romp of a book , especially some of the passages set in the private school in which she teaches. I found myself laughing out loud in parts. I love the description of flat sharing in the modern world and the loyal friendships formed at university. The only jarring note for me was the inaccurate idea that one can determine paternity of unborn baby by taking blood test from its parents . .it's a shame when a good story is let down by sloppy research . But suspend your disbelief about this one little issue and you are in for a fun ride. Highly recommended

I loved this book from the very first page. It is racy, exciting and the main character is very likeable. As a teacher I loved hearing about her job in an exclusive school in London. My heart went out to her when she lost a child on the Tube. I disliked handsome Max at first but as the layers were peeled away he became more likeable and came up trumps when baby Finn was born.

“One first date. One not so little mistake.” – Lil Bailey, after dedicating eight years of her life to someone that she considered ‘The One’ finds herself once again navigating single life. After months of wallowing, stalking her ex and his new girlfriend on social media, Lil decides that enough is enough and goes on a date with the dreamy, body like a Greek sculpture Max Rushbrooke. All is well until Max ghosts her, and a week later she discovers that she is pregnant by a man who she has only met once. ‘What Happens Now?’ is simply a story of survival and self-preservation. A story of a woman, who had her life planned out and the carpet has literally just been pulled from under her. Money-Coutts writes this story so honestly, from the steamy conception to the very important question “Do I have this baby or don’t I?” You really feel that you are on this journey with Lil instead of just simply reading it as an outsider, which in itself is a very special talent. The thing with Lil is that she is one of us, there is no airs and graces, she’s down to earth and her character will resonate with many woman going through a surprise pregnancy, potentially alone. Reading ‘What Happens Now?’ I have found myself laughing out loud, silently cursing, all the while hoping that nobody was looking over my shoulder at certain parts clutching their pearls. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I experienced so many emotions and I just know that Lil’s journey will help and inspire others going through this situation. I’m also holding out hope for a potential follow-up as I still have so many questions, like WHAT HAPPENS NOW? See what I did there?

This was a fun read where it certainly had it funny moments! I very much enjoyed the observations on dating in this advanced technology world especially when you send a WhatsApp message to your date and just waiting for the blue ticks to show.

The ending was predictable however did make the read very enjoyable overall.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy in exchange for a honest review.

This book is about a single 31 year old lady named Lil, a teacher in a private school to adorable 5 year olds! A recent relationship breakup causes her heartache and pain, but after 6 months she is ready to get back in the saddle.

She meets Max through a dating site and after a drunken night of passion she wakes the next morning in his flat - alone! He left her a note, not sure how to take what he has written it she goes straight to her best friends house and speaks to her!

What follows is a funny story of how a single woman in today’s world deals with drama and the judgement of others as she tries to make the best decisions for herself regardless of whether there is a man involved!

I really enjoyed this book, I laughed out loud, but also wanted to bang Lil and Max’s heads together!

Great book for reading by the swimming pool or on the beach. This is an effortless read, with an uncomplicated (one might say, predictable) storyline and a feel-good ending.
However - the entire story is based on the result of a rather implausible one-night stand. A thirty-something having a one-night stand with a complete stranger would not refuse his offer to use a condom (even if she was on the pill, there's the STI risk). And then, as well as being handsome and charming, he turns out to be famous and aristocratic! All a bit much, really.
That said, it's quite fun if you are looking for an easy holiday read.

This is one of those books that came along at just the right time. It was light hearted, funny at times, with some lovely heart-warming moments - but ultimately it was fairly forgettable.

I loved Lil, and the parts of the book about her job as a teacher were some of the best bits to me. Also, her relationship with her dad was wonderful to read. But there wasn't anything about it that really stood out to me as particularly unique or special.

One of those books that you read once, enjoy it while you're reading it, but then delete off the kindle and move on from. Definitely one to consider as a beach book, as it was easy to get into and didn't require a lot of concentration.

Being newly single at 31, Lil goes on a date with Max. They go back to his place, she spend the night and the next morning, he is gone. She sends him a few text which he doesn't answer. Everything would be pretty simple, except that a few weeks later, she realises that she is pregnant and Max is actually a climber and explorer and he is right now lost in a mountain in Pakistan. I enjoyed this book which I found very entertaining. I enjoyed the relationship that she developed with Max through the book. It seemed very realistic given the circumstance.

After finally going on a date thanks to much persuasion from best friend Jess, Lil finds herself pregnant with her date, Max's child after a one night stand.

Not ideal.

Unsure what to do and shocked from finding out while staying at her mum's of all places she realises she has a big decision to make, keep or abort, the baby...

Then she discovers Max is famous and loaded but with a lot of family baggage too.

Climber Max being away can't be reached and he did ghost her after their first and only ever date, Lil is also a teacher and supposed to be sensible at making decisions and can't face telling anyone there either.

As she faces the reality of having the baby, her parents are supportive while Jess and Clem her best friends invite her to stay with them as things with Max decline communication wise and he goes away on another trip. So when his ex makes comments to the press about the pair possibly being back together, naturally Lil is heartbroken after they spent the night together again and are expecting their baby, will they get together or remain estranged?

I was hooked on this book from the title and blurb it was catchy, witty and yet it had an obvious serious note to it as well with the baby drama. I really rooted for the protagonists despite Max being a rather absent character for most of the book but we can easily tell throughout that Lil would take to motherhood from her job. The pair were great contrasts of each other but my their chemistry was undeniable in the scenes in this book, they sizzle!

Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!
