Loved this. Read it on holiday and it was a great beach read. Really invested in the characters and was rooting them on throughout. Brilliant.

This was a very easy, lighthearted read. I can hand on heart say I’ve never read about the perils of being ridiculously horny before, but at the same time I think that Jackie Collins may have mellowed a bit of she thought the sex in this book made her feel like a nun. However, it’s very enjoyable and thoroughly entertaining, albeit somewhat predictable. Perfect for a low effort summer holiday beach read.

It was a lovely light hearted read. There is no real story to grip you, and certainly no real laugh out loud moments, but it's fun and entertaining and that's all you really need. The characters are fun and quirky, enough to keep you interested and willing to get to the end of the book.

A romcom of old, a cross between Notting Hill and Briget Jones. Fun to read and hard to put down. A private educator in a posh school is unexpectedly given the life changing choice of motherhood. Very enjoyable and easily a good book for a long flight or a slow week on the beach. You will love the characters and be routing for a happy ending. Slightly more open and modern in its sex and text than the old Richard Curtis classics but I can feel a film coming on .

I seem to be in a minority but while I didn’t at all hate this, I found it predictable and considerably less interesting than it sounded from the cover. It’s another ‘woman gets knocked up on a one night stand- determines to make it alone- ends up with man anyway after a few twists’ kind of book. It was written well enough, the characters were interesting enough but the plot was pretty run of the mill. Much is made of the sex scenes... they’re certainly quite explicit...so if that is what you want in a book this may be worth a shot. I think I may not be the target market for this particular author!
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review #NetGalley #WhatHappensNow

I enjoyed reading this book, it’s an easy and quick read that you could enjoy anywhere.

I could relate to the honest account of pregnancy and did grow to like the characters.

The only downside for me was the sex, I’m not a fan of detailed scenes but different strokes!

I was expecting a fun and exciting read about a romcom story of two people under a circumstance were brought together. But that was not the case for this one, it was more than that. The author has continuously sent across a message to the readers that nothing is impossible and that you definitely don't need a man to actually move forward with your life. You should just focus on yourself and see the brighter and better things up ahead.

Lil is very strong and not everyone who is going through what she is going through can be this strong and brave. I was referring to her character as the message that were sent across to me and sometimes I wish that I had even half the courage as I have of her towards certain aspects of my life.

I was expecting more action in the romance region but was a bit disappointed to find that there were so little of that and instead more about the progress of her pregnancy. Sure, everyone doesn't really revolve around love and that there are more important matters that a story shouldn't just leave it behind like friendship, solidarity and survival. It taught me that there is more to life than being cooped up in the bubble that is love.

Fabulous!! It made me laugh and it made me cry. I fell in love with the character of Lil and her down to earth honesty and crazy life. A huge 5 stars!!

What a truly perfect beach read, as long as you don’t get embarrassed laughing out loud while reading a book in public, because you will be laughing. You may also shed a few tears. I did. I felt every emotion, good and bad. Wonderful writing and wonderful characters, Lil Bailey was a perfectly imperfect heroine that anyone who has every been pregnant will be able to relate 100% to. Lil’s best friend, Lil’s parents, Lil’s everybody, were everything you could wish for in supporting characters, even the delectable Max, who I wanted to hate, but couldn’t, no matter how hard I tried. Quite possibly one of my favourite reads of 2019 so far. Addictive reading. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This story follows Lil and the aftermath of her one night stand with Max.

I really enjoyed the authors first novel ‘the plus one’ and was so excited to read this. The writing moved quickly which I loved, and the descriptions of pregnancy and childbirth very accurate!! Unfortunately, the first half of the book was quite difficult to read, nothing much seemed to happen, other than the one night stand, (which was brilliantly written) I don’t mind graphic sex scenes and Sophia writes great ones!

Supporting characters were good...Jess, Clem and Lil’s parents, all well written. I think max could’ve had a bit more depth, as we don’t get to know him too well, but then I guess Lil doesn’t know him too well either?

The story rounded off nicely, and I felt it was a good book. I just don’t think it was as good as the authors first story.

Thank you for advanced copy. Despite not overly loving this, I will definitely read future books by this author.

What would you do if you discovered you were pregnant after a one night stand? That’s the conundrum Lil faces after hooking up with a mam she meets on a dating site.

Funny, sweet, and (whisper) quite sexy. A great read.

While this was no show stopping, all consuming whirlwind of a novel, it was a very pleasant and uplifting read.

You’ve got the standard protagonist, Lil, newly broken up from her long term boyfriend Jake and struggling to get back out in the dating scene. After matching on a dating app, she goes for a drink with Max and ends up impulsively spending the night with him. Resulting in an accidental pregnancy from a one-night stand with a famous mountain climber. Crazy.

The first part was a little slow, and there was an awful lot of description during the sex scene - now I wasn’t massively bothered by it but I do know there are plenty of people that aren’t a fan of the graphics. If that’s you, I’d steer clear.

But, I warmed to Lil so quickly. Her character is what ultimately kept me reading, I loved hearing about her fancy private school job, her weird relationship with Max and the sex crazy Aussies she flat shares with. I also enjoyed the bluntness with which the author told the realities of pregnancy and just life in general. No sugar coating but a real insight.

Ultimately, it’s a light hearted read that requires little thinking, giving you a warm sense of hope as you read the final chapter. Lovely bit of escapism after endless thrillers and fantasy drama! 3.5 stars.

This is a heartwarming tale of what can happen when you’ve been out of the dating game for a while, have a one night stand and end up pregnant. Written in a lighthearted way this is a very easy book to read and you will instantly warm to Lil, primary school teacher at an exclusive establishment in the heart of London. She meets Max ( a famous mountaineer unbeknownst to her) who finds himself the cause of her predicament after just one date. This novel is full of amusing anecdotes about school life and the highs and lows of suddenly finding your life turned upside down. With a cast of likeable characters such as Lil’s best friend Jess and her twin brother Clem this will appeal to anyone who is a die hard romantic and loves a happy ending. All the ingredients are there to make it an enjoyable if predictable read.

This was a spur of the moment request while I was browsing NetGalley. I haven't read Money-Coutts' previous book, and I wasn't particularly looking for anything, but I saw this, thought it sounded funny, and went for it. I'm glad I did, though, because this was a very enjoyable experience!

Lil's story, of an unexpected souvenir from a Tinder date that later ghosted her, was a really interesting and enjoyable tale of a thirty-something woman who's left facing unplanned circumstances, and how she deals with that. Trying to juggle the unexpected news that she's expecting, cope with her Tinder date ghosting her, and breaking the news to her parents that they're going to become grandparents, Lil's story is frank, funny, and very entertaining. Not shying away from topics like living in a flatshare when you're thirty, or the terrible frustration of your vibrator running out of batteries, What Happens Now? is filled with moments that made me laugh, smirk, and groan, sprinkled with a romance that had me rooting for a happy ever after. If Max, the romantic lead, was a little underdeveloped, it didn't matter too much, as it was Lil's relationship with her best friend and inner monologue that really carried this book. A light and enjoyable book with enough weight behind it to keep it from veering into dross, this was a very enjoyable, quick read that kept me giggling on a plane as I travelled home last weekend.

What Happens Now is a light romance concerning Lil a teacher in a very up market private primary school and Max a mountaineer.
After Lil becomes pregnant after a one night stand with Max we experience the rest of the pregnancy with Lil and her friends and colleagues.
Whilst there are some humorous moments which brought a smile to my face they weren’t funny enough to laugh out loud or even raise a giggle.
Although you could see the relationship between Max and Lil developing slowly I’m afraid the ending seemed to finish too abruptly so I felt a little let down, an epilogue would have tied it up nicely, without this reader trying to make up her own.
That said it was an easy enjoyable read.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

I throughly enjoyed What Happens Now by Sophia Money-Coutts, I wanted a light hearted, fun book to read and this did no disappoint.

The story follows Lil who is a school teacher, she is recently out of a long term relationship and decides to try a dating app, and meets Max. After a One night stand with Max, she falls pregnant and we follow Lil, through the nine months of her pregnancy.

The characters are lovable, I liked Lil, she’s down to Earth, authentic and really funny and I enjoyed reading about her relationships with her friends and family, and also her job as a teacher.

This book was heartfelt and funny, had me laughing out loud at parts, once I started reading I could put it down, I read within one day . The only downside is I would have liked an epilogue, it ended at bit to quick for me

What Happens Now by Sophia Money-Coutts has been described as ‘Bridget Jones trapped inside a Jilly Cooper novel (Metro). I think that wonderfully describes it. Frankly as a male reader it was a bit too graphic for me but I imagine many mothers would find it riotously funny. I have never engaged in a one night stand, although had many relationships, What Happens Now makes me think I made the right call.

An enjoyable read with likeable characters set in a London without the really scrungy bits. The protagonist is a school teacher and even though this was supposed to be a romance novel I’d have liked much more of the little kids she taught. It was a good read with some heart-stopping bits but some funny bits as well. I read it very quickly - it is well-paced. I did think it deserved an epilogue (what does happen next?).

A funny, entertaining story which I read in one sitting. Of course incredibly unreal - if someone does fall pregnant after a one night stand, it's pretty rare to have such a happy ending! But a nice piece of escapism nonetheless. It follows a tried and true formula - so you pretty much know what you're getting and how it's going to end. And the characters are fairly predictable too. But it is well written, entertaining and has the feel good element. Worth a read.

Sometimes you read about books being hilariously funny and then they are a big let down. Fortunately that is not the case with this book which had me laughing out loud in many places. It was just my type of humour, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be looking for more books from Sophie Money-Coutts.

If you are looking for a funny, light-hearted read, then look no further.

Highly recommended!
