With thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an open and honest review.

Amy Whey was happily married to Davis, they had a baby called Oliver together and Amy was Stepmother to 15 year old Maddy. Amy was also lucky enough to have her best friend Charlotte on the same street.

However Amy`s comfortable life was rocked when single mother Roux and her 17 year old son Luca move on to her street. One night Roux gate crashed Charlotte`s book club. At the meeting Roux decided to get the neighbours drunk and play Never Have I Ever. During the meeting one of the married ladies confessed she had kissed on of their neighbours.

Little did the others know that Amy held her own dark secret from her teenage years. During the meeting Roux hinted that she knew Amy`s dark secret. Days later Roux tried to blackmail Amy. Worried that Roux will reveal her terrible secret to Davies and their neighbours, Amy tries to fight her at her own game.

I didn't realise I have two books called Never Have I Ever on my shelves. I was pleasantly surprised I read this version and not the book I intended!!

The plot grabbed me from the first page. Roux was a great character, who knew had to use her beauty to get what she wanted. Once Roux realised that Amy was no push over I enjoyed reading about their cat and mouse game.

I enjoyed reading about Amy`s relationship with Maddy, I thought it was sweet Maddy nicknamed her monster. I also worried when Amy found Maddy in a compromising position with Luca.

The plot went from the present to 1991 when Amy`s life changed for ever. I found the plot a bit slow at times and I didn't find the scuba diving scenes very interesting.

However the ending was completely unexpected, I was hooked.

I would like to read more from Joshilyn Jackson.

This book really makes you think.

Amy Whey is a Mom, a Wife and a Friend. But Amy has a past that catches up with her in the form of "Roux" a new neighbour on the block. Roux knows what Amy did all those years ago and is blackmailing her to the tune of $250,000. You really feel for Amy, and while Roux is a great character, you will love to hate her.

When I was reading this to start with, I was thinking about what I would do in this situation and you have so many torn thoughts. When you read it, think to yourself "what would I do" because I doubt I'd be as strong as Amy.

The twist at the end is good to.

I really wanted to love this but I struggled. I didn't like the main character which instantly made it hard for me to pick up and want to read.

Amy and her friend Charlotte host a book club and one week, Roux, the new lady in their area joins and wreaks havoc. She entices everyone to play an edgier version of Never Have I Ever and it starts becoming clearer to Amy that this Roux woman knows about Amy's secret past; something that not even her husband knows. Roux's teenage son Luca becomes very close with Amy's teenage stepdaughter so it becomes very difficult between the two.

It was a bit repetitive and long-winded for me. The final few chapters of the book were fantastic though and I didn't see the twist coming.

Just finished reading this book after many interruptions. Absolutely loved it! The story kept a good pace whilst keeping you on your toes about what was going to happen next. Thoroughly enjoyed the quick wittedness and mind games between the two main characters, Amy and Roux, it kept me locked in until the end.

I received a copy of this book via net galley in exchange for an honest review. The first thing to say was that had to restart the book I was so confused by the first 20%. There was so much information and so many characters in that first part that i had become swamped by detail. However after my restart I did quickly get a grasp on the events and characters. There was a real pitch and roll to the narrative and I loved the facing off between Roux and Amy. The characterisation was so well done that I neither fully hated or fully loved either of the characters but had times when i wanted almost to cheer for the cleverness of them both. I would think there thats you outfoxed only for something else to come along. I haven't read anything by this author before and I believe this is her first foray into mystery / thriller writing. I would certainly look for more in this genre by her and give her other books a try

I don’t really read many Mystery & Thriller books, as when I get to a certain point in the book I can usually guess what the outcome will be. Which ends up spoiling the book for me, but I can honestly say that “Never Have I Ever”, kept me on my toes and it didn’t turn out as I expected. Which was a refreshing change.

Amy Whey has the perfect life with an adoring husband, step daughter and a new born. She lives in a good area and her best friend Charlotte lives close by.

Once a month Amy lets her best friend host her neighbourhood book club at her house as the book club has out grown Charlotte’s space.

One night Roux the new and glamorous neighbour turns up and takes over, plying everyone with wine and organising them all as well. So much so you’d think she was the hostess. As the evening progresses and people start to leave Amy see them and her friend Charlotte out.

On re-entering the room Amy hears something that she shouldn’t about her best friends husband from the women that are still straggling behind. As Roux had started up an adult version of “Never have I ever”. While the other women are carrying on with their drunken conversation Roux zones in on Amy. Taunting her with “Never have I Ever” indicating that she knows something about Amy and her past.

That night Amy finds it hard to sleep, as she starts to worry about her past and that if anyone did find out about her past it would ruin her nice life. Could Roux really have something on her? Surly not?

Amy decides that the best thing she can do is go over to Roux’s the next morning under the guise of “Welcoming” her to the neighbourhood properly.

The next morning Roux had her own plans. She is the one knocking on Amy’s door. Where she makes it obvious that she does know all about Amy’s past and if Amy doesn’t play by her rules she will ruin Amy’s life. Amy has so much to loose, and not only that her step daughter is becoming very close to Roux’s son.

As it turns out Amy isn’t the only one keeping secrets Roux is also keeping secrets. So the games begin. Who’s secret will come out first?

This book has so many twists and turns, you will wonder how it will all end. A great mystery thriller that you just won’t be able to put down.

*** ARC provided by Netgalley via the publisher in exchange for an honest review. ***

This was a good read however, it left me frustrated as I didn’t really like the main character. This isn’t a pre-requisite for me, in fact I enjoy an anti-hero but Amy just need a dose of honesty! I felt that the book never got to a fleshed out conclusion and that there are loose ends a plenty.

I’m sure that this would appeal to others as its quick and engaging read and fills the psychological thriller specifications well.

I thought this book was brilliant, it had a great start which captured my attention straight away. There was a small portion of the story which was slightly less interesting but them the whole second half of the book had me hooked. It's a great story with several shocks along the way.

I haven't enjoyed a book as much as this one in a long time. It was written well and the story was told in a logical order which made it easy to follow. I like the fact that this whole story was written from one person's perspective as it made it easier to understand how the main character was feeling.

This was a dark and exciting thriller, bordering on uncomfortable at times but which gave a different depth to some of the character and really kept me gripped in the storyline. The intricacies of the main characters and their links to sub plots was very well written and there were many twists and turns in the story.

Overall a great read.

Unfortunately I just couldn’t get into this book. I didn’t really like any of the characters and I found it very uneventful. It’s a shame as I was really looking forward to this one!

The book revolves around Amy Whey, an overweight teenager now grown up with her own family. Amy is happily getting on with her life when glamorous new comer Roux arrives at their suburban book club and begins a game of Never Have I ever. Unfortunately, Amy has a dark past which she worries may be unravelled.

The reader is told the story from Amy as a teenager and Amy as an adult, and if I am honest I was more interested in the storyline about Amy the teenager.

The book didn't really grab me, I felt this book was too descriptive and went on a little too long and that took away from the storyline. There was a lot of description about diving which isn't a personal interest of mine but I still managed to read it all. I didn't see a lot of the twists coming though so props to the writer.

I think other people will enjoy this atmospheric psychological twister

This book is about a group of mature female friends who play a game of Never have I ever.

One of the friends is a newcomer to the group and decides to stir things up with some information that she holds regarding one of the other ladies past life, and then starts to blackmail her.

It keeps you in suspense at first and then about a quarter of the way through it reveals the plot.
I was quite pleased that I managed to guess the outcome.

I think this could have maybe waited a little while longer, as I lost a little interest
once the plot was revealed. It did keep me hooked enough to finish the book thou, as I wanted to know the outcome, Did she succeed or didn’t she !
I felt the book concentrated more on the authors past life of scuba diving than getting on with the story and I don’t think this worked because this seemed to confuse me somewhat.
Apart from the boring bits about scuba diving, the book was quite good and was written well and had a true to life story and characters. It was a mostly entertaining story about deception and betrayal and how your past secrets can creep up on you.
I think the book would be a good holiday read.

A very sinister read.

Amy has her perfect life and is very happy with it.

A new neighbour, Roux arrives and comes to the book club and takes over. Once the alcohol is flowing, Roux soon has the local women telling their secrets during a games of Never Have I Ever. Except that Amy realises that Roux already knows about her secrets and if Amy doesn't give Roux what she wants, her life may never be the same again.

A seemingly innocent game to liven up bookclub turns into a tense game of cat and mouse as one woman threatens to reveal a long-buried secret. How far will Amy go to protect the fragile life she’s built for herself? A good choice for fans of twisting, suspense-packed thrillers.

I was really looking forward to reading this book and it was such a satisfying read. It follows Amy Whey who seems to have the perfect life, and she seems to be quite a perfect person. She lets her friend Charlotte host a book club in her house and one night a new neighbour, Roux, turns up and really shakes this group up by suggesting they play never have I ever and work back to revealing the worst thing they’ve ever done. Amy is immediately nervous and it’s apparent that she has skeletons in her closet. The novel then becomes a cat and mouse game as Amy and Roux try to outwit each other. I’m going to be honest here and say that while I was really drawn in by the opening to this book I did struggle with picking it back up whenever I’d put it down. Having said that there is a point about halfway through where it grabbed me and I read from there to the end in one sitting. It’s a clever thriller and something a bit different so I recommend it.

This is my first novel by this author but I definitely want to read more.

This is the intriguing tale of Amy, who is living a quiet suburban life with her family and the mysterious Roux. Roux and her son's arrival in the neighbourhood threatens the life that Amy has built, based on omissions and half truths. It also has ripples which is felt by the neighbourhood

This novel had me feeling the anxiety and fear of exposure that Amy experiences. The story opens up in a way that is unexpected whilst the characters develop and become real to the reader. The telling of the tale from different perspectives and time scale adds to the reality.

I would recommend this to readers who like the unexpected in the everyday ordinary

Never Have I Ever has an intriguing beginning. It sucks you in straight away. Roux a wild and troublesome character does pave the way for destruction. Amy keeping a secret she thought forgotten is bought to the surface by Roux's very presence. A great read. Could not put it down.

I enjoyed this book which sets itself in suburbia but has a dark side. I very much liked the character of Amy and was routing for her as she tried to keep her well constructed happy life on track while Roux was determined to undermine her. The characters were well defined and believable. A well written easy read.

A thriller that keeps you turning the page, a bit slow and drawn out at points but overall I enjoyed it.

Right from reading the blurb for this book I knew I wanted to read it !!

Amy lives with her husband, stepdaughter and young baby. All is going well until book club !! Amy’s best friend runs the local book club with all the neighbours but one evening a new neighbour, Roux, turns up and everything changes. Roux tries to take over proceedings and by the end of the evening some of the neighbours are playing a game ‘Never Have I Ever’, not a great game to play when the drink has been flowing !!

What follows is a game of cat and mouse between Amy and Roux. There is a long buried secret fighting to get out but will it be revealed ? What other secrets and lies have people told or hidden ?

A great psychological thriller with some brilliant twists and reveals that you just won’t see coming.

Thank you to Raven Books and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.
