I enjoyed reading Danger Next Door and it checked off many boxes off my romantic suspense list. This book can definitely be read as a stand alone. It is the second title in the Red Stone Security series. I would recommend the author Katie Reus.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I also purchased a copy that is in the grouping of the first three books of the series.

This book really starts with a bang and just gets better and better. Even though this is the second book in the series, you don't have to read the first one to thoroughly understand and enjoy this one. If I could rate this higher than 5 stars, I definitely would.

Grant Caldwell is injured during a raid as a Miami detective. Normally he wouldn't be involved in a raid since he was a detective but there was a lot happening that day and the department was spread thin. He sustained burns over a portion of his left face, back and his left arm. Belle Manikas is a neonatal nurse. She moves next door to Grant. She is accosted by a friend of the family and Grant comes to her rescue. Later that evening someone attempts to break into Belle's home but Grant chases him off.

The intrigue just grabbed me into the story and I almost thought I was going to burn out my e-reader with the speed that I was turning the pages. Plus the story is HOT! I adored the multiple person POV format that this is written in.

I HIGHLY recommend this very sexy story to anyone over the age of 18 especially if you love suspense and mystery with your romance!

This was a good romantic suspense. Grant and Belle both had great families. The next door angle is a bit overused, but I liked the story nonetheless.

This is second in Red Stone Security series and this could be standalone.
Grant Caldwell loved being a detective until explosion shattered everything. He was scarred physically and mentally as well. He was hiding from everyone even though his family owns Red Stone Security firm. He wanted take more time before he joins his family business.
Belle is finally moved out of her hovering family. On her first day of moving, her family friend raised his voice at her and Grant heard the scuffle and rescues Belle.
Ever since their first encounter, Grant couldn't hide his attraction to her and Belle felt the same way. Belle didn't care about Grants scars since Belle all understood his scars since she has one of her own. Sparks were flying and Grant wanted to protect her.
After little incident with family friend, something keeps happening to Belle and it pushes Grant to their family business. Belle seems she is in danger and it is closely related to Grant.

Story moved quickly and kept the suspense until the end. I can't wait to see the rest of the series.
Thanks to Author and KR press for ARC in exchange for honest review.

As a fan of Katie Reus and her paranormal Darkness serie and Redemption Harbor serie, I was glad to see one of her older books (from 2012) from the Red Stone Security Series on Netgalley. And although I am used to Katie's high paced stories and raw attraction, this one still took me by surprise. Grant Caldwell has scars on his body as a result of a police job gone terribly wrong. So, while still recuperating, he meets his new moved in neighbor Belle Manikas. Belle has always lived with her family, because they were scared she would have health problems. Having had an open heart surgery as a child has left her a bit smothered by her family. So, this new home is a fresh start for her to be on her own. But when Belle is harassed by an old boyfriend and Grant steps up, she can't deny the attraction between them.
However, after several dangerous attacks on Belle's life, she has to wonder whether it is her ex with a grudge or maybe someone else who is dead set on hurting her. Can Belle let Grant into her life to help her face the issues? Or is her need for independence bigger than her fears?
Fast paced, short story full of suspense and drama. But also about second chances, self esteem and letting go. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I don’t know if the author intended this to be based on the fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast”, but there are clear similarities in that the hero is scarred and the heroine is named Belle. A serial killer and an overly amorous family friend are the villains.

This is a novella set with the wonderful Caldwell family and is definitely worth reading. It’s short and sweet.

A sweet romance story with a touch of mystery to keep you hooked. Belle and Grant's love story was adorable. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because, IMHO, the sexy part happened too soon. They have just met but they can't stop picturing each other naked and can't stop thinking about sex.

Grant is recovering from a Miami PD drugs operation gone bad while saving a little boy. His severe burns keep him wanting to cut himself off from life. His family Red Stone Security are trying to recruit him back into personal protection. When Belle moves in next door Grant is willing to come out of his hibernation for his feisty new neighbour. Grant’s past will come back to haunt them as their relationship develops. You will connect with these 2 strong characters and their wonderful extended interfering families will keep them cocooned.
I was given an ARC of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

What a great story! This is the second book in the “Red Stone Security” series, I feel this could be read as a standalone. Grant is a great character, just loved him; he's so protective by nature and yet so vulnerable. Belle is a great character too, she's honest, sweet, absolutely adorable. I felt because the author did such a great job with writing these characters, that I knew them as close personal friends or friends of a friend. The story kept me reading well into the night . Belle's stalker was so unpredictable and in my opinion needed some major help. I felt the story had the prefect balance of suspense, mystery, and well written romance. Would I recommend this book to family and friends? Heck yeah! I loved everything about this couple and other characters in the story. I look forward to reading more from this series!

I read this book in 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed it the first time I read it. I gave it 5 stars then, and I skimmed the book again as Netgalley has put it back on their read and review list. Grant and Belle were good characters, the suspense was there as was the romance. Enjoyable.

All things considered, this heroine is one of the luckiest, unluckiest book characters I’ve come across in a long time. Despite the life threatening situations she keeps finding herself, at least she finds true love in the midst of all this seemingly senseless, unprovoked attacks. It’s like she’s got a target on her back. Fortunately for her, Grant isn’t going to let the bad guy get his death wish.

Belle breezes into Grant’s life like a lifeline, folks. Physically and emotionally scarred after getting injured on the job, he’s been struggling to get back into the swing of things again. His instant attraction to Belle begins him on the path of healing and recovery.

As usual, this author never seems to fail at giving me an alpha protective, possessive, good guy hero and a leading lady I can’t help but root for. If this storyline intrigues you, well, you are the lucky one now. Turns out this book is just one of a 15 book series. Each one is a standalone but connected to this group of macho, lovable, private security book heroes.

Title: Danger Next Door, Series: Red Stone Security (Book 2), Author: Katie Reus, Pages: 176, stand-alone but part of a series, scarred alpha protective hero, damsel in distress heroine, very steamy scenes, romance safe.

“Danger Next Door” by Katie Reus

I obtained a copy of this book from my wonderful friends at Net Galley and the publisher, who graciously allowed me to read it. I have not read anything by Katie before and I did not read the first book in this series, but it was fine as this can be read as a standalone novel.

I would give this book 3.5 stars out of 5. It was a great book and I would recommend it to someone looking for a quick read. That being said, the book was short and I was able to complete it in one sitting. I typically have no issue with finishing a book in one sitting, but the shortness of the novel left me feeling as though it was rushed. There were definitely places whereby the characters and the plot could have been developed more.

I enjoyed the aspect of the serial killer/stalker and the mystery associated with the plot. I would have liked to have seen this character’s perspective more throughout the novel. There was a lot of missed opportunities to develop the characters and the plot into something more substantive.

That being said, Grant and Belle’s characters were interesting and both had their own insecurities that lended to their overall chemistry. Grant’s physical scars versus Belle’s emotional scars was a great juxtaposition. Many of the minor characters left the author with the ability to carry on the series. The title is misleading and without knowing anything about the book itself I would have assumed that the neighbour was the danger.

Overall, it was a good read, but as previously noted I felt that it was rushed and there was a lot of missed opportunity to develop the characters and the plot to make the overall product more intriguing.

The first book was good, but this is the book that made me fall in love with the series. Grant is the perfect mix of alpha and devotion. Belle is a strong female character with brains to go with her beauty. There is a mystery full of suspense and the perfect mix of romance and action. With a dash of humor mixed in thanks to the sassy Belle, this is a fun, fast paced read.

Grant has rough 6month behind him and is seems that new neighbor will bring sun in his life. Belle is grateful because Grant helps her with her family friend, which cross the line. In the next few days, there are many unexplainable moments and someone wants to kill Belle. Grant and Belle spend a lot time together and feelings are developed. Grand is insecure because his scares but Belle is interested in him as whole. The quick enjoyable story with suspense action and romance.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

After being injured in a SWAT mission, Grant has kind of lost focus in his life. He feels that his scars will keep him from ever finding a woman so when he meets Belle, he is not prepared for her to accept him, scars and all.

After they meet, Belle keeps having attempts on her life which seems to be a family friend but the truth is more sinister and pretty scary.

During this time, Grant and Belle grow closer to each other and fall in love. Good thing that Grant is over protective or Belle would not have survived the serial killer.

I have enjoyed all the Red Stone Security books

This story was captivating, it grabs you and holds you wanting to see what happens next. I loved the chemistry between Grant and Belle, it was great that she wasn't bothered by his scars and kept trying even though he pushed her away.

This one was short but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I could have kept reading about the characters, but the story was wrapped up so I guess it needed to end. Suspenseful, and the love story was good too! I alway enjoy Katie Reus’ books, and this is no exception..The whole series is well written and enjoyable! 4.5 stars from me!
