I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley but all opinions provided are my own.

I just discovered Katie Reus this year, and what I love about her books is that they’re pulse-pounding, with a keen sense of drama and two main characters who can’t keep their hands off each other. Danger Next Door is no exception to this, and I really enjoyed reading this book in an older but new-to-me series.

Grant Caldwell is six months out from an explosion that left him severely scarred. Since then, he’s been a bit of a shut-in, at least until he meets the girl next door, Belle Manikas. Before he knows it, he’s swept into the mystery of who keeps trying to attack her and why, anddddd lost in her and the new relationship they’ve started.

Grant and Belle are combustible together. There’s an immediate attraction, and Reus portrays it well. I couldn’t wait to see what happened between them, and how it would bring both of them into the light.

But there were a couple of things that I liked less, including the questionable lengths that Grant went to to protect Belle, especially at the end of the book. His efforts to do so did end up saving her life, but there have to be boundaries, right? I felt like he could have been more honest about his efforts. And the identity of the attacker was a bit of a let-down for me.

Still, Danger Next Door was a searing, thoroughly enjoyable read.

Danger Next Door was a pretty quick but fun read. I liked Grant, I was worried at first because Belle was written as a very sheltered character but thankfully she turned out to have a decent head on her shoulders. The suspense was exciting, and the romance steamy.

Grant was a Miami police officer until they were trying to take down a coke house, when he accidentally set off a trip wire and caused an explosion. Six months later he gets a new neighbor. Belle is beautiful and from a large family. She had to move to her own place to get some peace. Grant was severely burned and is very self conscious about his scars. When a stalker comes after Belle, Grant will do anything to keep her safe.
Great story with suspense, action, and sex. Belle doesn’t pay attention to Grant’s scars and that make him fall for her.

I have read this book before. I enjoyed it then as much as I enjoyed now. I was not able to put to put it down. Suspenseful and romance combined, a win.

Katie Reus is able to tell a story that will pull readers in right away, bring romance, sexy time, action pack leaving readers feeling a little whiplash but enjoying the ride none the less. The characters are defined right away with the Alpha male and Female in need of help.

Grant right away is someone reader will feel for as he works those his emotional and physical pain. Belle who wants to find her independence from her controlling and loving family.

Perfect beach read just over 100 pages.

Detective Grant Caldwell is injured and scarred when a raid goes awry. He leaves Miami P.D. to complete his recovery, not sure of his future. He knows he has a job with Redstone Security with his brothers and father, as his father started Redstone. His new neighbor, Belle Manikas, has barely moved in, when he interrupts a man arguing with her. Later, when a different man breaks in to Belle’s home, Grant scares him away and arranges for the installation of a security system. Grant decides that he will do all that he can to keep her safe. He is attracted to Belle, but can she really ignore his scars? When Belle makes it clear the she has scars of her own and she only wants him to see himself as she does…a strong, protective amazing man. What an emotional addition to the Redstone series as they deal with the serial killer that has her in his sights. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

ARC received for review (I just requested it last week and got it, but this book is from 2012).

Grant and Belle met and fall in love in less than a week. Yes, that's fast, but there are extenuating circumstances. Plus a very nasty bad guy to take care of. Love all of her big, huge family and all of his too.

4.5 - "Seeing you is the best part of my day…" Stars!

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Katie’s writing, Romantic Suspense and PNR are her forte’s and having read a large number of the later Red Stone Security books in recent years, it’s been on my TBR wish-list to go back to the beginning and ‘fill in the blanks’ so to speak. So when Danger Next Door popped up on Netgalley, I took it as a sign, and have since spent the weekend immersing myself in all things Reus and Red Stone.

Who didn’t have scars whether physical or emotional...

Danger next Door gives us Grant Caldwell’s story, he figured pretty heavily in the first book in the series, and at the time was a Miami Police Detective, after a drug bust goes wrong in the prologue of this book, we find Grant still dealing with the mental and physical fall out six months on.

His new neighbour Belle Manikas offers up a really great distraction from his dark thoughts, and all things protective and alpha in him come to the fore when it looks like she may be the target of a stalker.

When he was with her, he forgot about his scars and limp. She didn’t seem to notice so he didn’t focus on them either… It was strange and freeing and… fucking scary.

I blew through this book like a high speed train, loved every second of its reading, and adored Grant and Belle together, both a little bit vulnerable, but with back bones of steel, although it wasn’t a long read it didn’t feel lacking in anyway whatsoever. Absolutely can be read as a standalone, and a great way to introduce yourself to the authors writing is she is not someone you have read in the past.

Grant Caldwell is recovering from injuries he received on the job with SWAT - unsure if he will go back to his old job or join his brothers and father at their Security Company .
He has a new neighbour - Belle Manikas , escaping her smothering family she has bought her first home ……. she is beautiful and he is instantly attracted but he fears his scars will put her off .
Belle however does not see his scars and soon demonstrates that he is not the only one attracted .
Belle is attacked not once but twice within the first couple of days in her new home - who is out to harm her ?
It will take all of Grant's efforts to find out who is after her and keep her safe ………… little does he know that Belle is not the only one the attacker is after as a past case comes to the fore .

This was an enjoyable romantic suspense novel …………. that could have been a bit more detailed ……...it felt a bit rushed .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I’ve read a couple of books from this Red Stone Security series (completely out of order, which by the way hasn’t mattered), and I’ve loved how great they are to read. Quick, easy and sexy with a little drama and suspense thrown in. A hunk of a hero and a fiery, take no nonsense heroine are exactly what Grant Caldwell and his new neighbour Belle Manikas are. When Belle’s life is threatened, Grant steps in and takes action. He takes it upon himself to protect her, it doesn’t hurt that she’s easy on the eye, and she makes him feel something, which hasn’t happened since his accident 6 months previously. I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Katie Reus is fast becoming a go to author for me and after reading all of her redemption Harbor books I am now working my way through the Red Stone Security books and let me tell you I haven't been disappointed a lot of authors have one great series but can't seem to master it in a second time but that isn't the case her

This is the story of Grant and Belle. Grant Caldwell was seriously injured in a drug bust gone bad and he has been left with some serious scars both physical and mental he can't even face the physical scars himself so he knows no one else will be able to so he knows he will be alone for the rest of his life. Then Belle moves in next door he knows that she will be turned away by his scars imagine his surprise when she doesn't even react to his disfigurement. Yes this is all helped by the fact that she is a nurse and she also has scars of her own Will the two of them be able to help one another to heal While only a shortish story this book delivers quite a punch

Sometimes Belle just needs to break the tension, "...she placed a gentle hand on Grant’s forearm. “Come on. Let’s get out of here so you can cook me dinner.” She kept her voice light, teasing." Grant truly hashis priorities in order, “our dads have taken over. I decided to let them fight for it so I could find you,” he murmured close to her ear, the heat of his breath dancing across her skin. “I’ve barely seen you all day.” I liked this book, I loved Grant.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. What a great, quick suspenseful story. Grant and Belle both have their own scars to live with. Starting off as neighbors, turning into lovers when danger shows up on Belle's doorstep. Grant was amazing- not to over the top but very protecting and caring. I loved that he protected her from the very beginning. Belle was perfect- accepting Grant w/ his scars and all. Together they were explosive, Great read! Can't wait for the next on in the series!!
