I really thought that this was going to be the perfect holiday as the blurb on the front cover claimed it to be but honestly for me, this wouldn't be considered as that. This book is simply a book that can be read everyday on normal days. Because the content of this story was somewhat deep and the truth of what reality usually is about. So, I find that a holiday read would be all about freedom, being carefree and abandoning all sorts of responsibilities. This book on the other hand is the opposite of that.

This is Sophie's story and her little bookshop, All Booked Up that is located on a fishing village in Herring Cove. Its a small town where everyone knows everyone and would make the effort to care about everyone else. Its totally different than how city people live who honestly cannot even be bothered to get to know your very own next door neighbour. Well, I'm saying this because I'm talking based on my own experience but I think that this kind of setting should be changed.

Its also a town that the people are most comfortable with so I understand how they would feel when a big corporation comes over and tries to take over the place as though they own it. I'm glad that they manage to yield and stay true to their own stances to fight for their home and what is right.

For the romance aspect, I find it just okay. It wasn't mind blowing or anything like that. But what makes it special is that they are just two people from absolutely different backgrounds who are trying again with a chance at love.

This story is heartwarming and a relaxing read. Sometimes all it takes for something to go your way is to be patient, calm and collected because it might just go the way you want it to go.

This was a lovely, warming romance to read. Perfect for a summer beach holiday! I liked the characters, but didn’t feel that I fell in love with them. It was a very predictable ending, (as expected)! But that’s fine, and I like that from a romance sometimes. I found the main character and narrator Sophie to be a little bit annoying, and feel like she created problems for herself! But maybe that’s just me being a little harsh... definitely worth the read though.

A well written easy romance read, I enjoyed this book. A fun book with a cast of interesting characters who developed throughout the story. A story of new beginnings, community spirit, friendship, relationships and romance.

A perfect summer holiday read or for a cosy afternoon on the sofa with some chocolate.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a story about how two people meet, fall in love and help each other make the best of themselves. Not to mention save the beautiful village of Herring Cove, and most importantly, the bookshop.

I enjoyed this book. It is fun, romantic and a little bit silly in places. The cast of characters are well written and believable. The ending is a slightly cheesy, especially the epilogue.

There are a few amusing moments watching Alex and Sophie get to know one another. I found the way they interacted to be more realistic than some books - the romantic moments were not picture perfect, but they didn’t let that put them off.

I would recommend this book to people looking for a summer romance with a happy ending.

The Little Bookshop at Herring Cove is an awesome feel good book. I loved seeing Alex and Sophie kind of circle each other all the while wearing each other down until they had to admit that they loved each other. I would so like to live in a community like Herring Cove that supports each other and works together for the benefit of the town.

Fun, cozy romance prefect to read while on vacation. Not too much drama, just a nice story about a village I'd love to visit!

It took me a while to get into this book. I’m unsure why, possibly the main character irritated me however I read on and soon got sucked into the beauty of Herring Cove and by the end was overjoyed with the ending.
This is your classic chick lit so if that’s your genre, hunker down with chocolate, your tipple of choice and a few tissues and enjoy. Sophie and Alexander’s tale of overcoming past woes and the weight of family expectations is a pleasure to read.

Thank you NetGalley

This was cute! I managed to read most of it in one day and I definitely enjoyed it. However, at times it was very slow and I felt as if nothing was happening. Sophie could be very stubborn and annoying in some ways which made me sort of dislike her. But I did love Alex! The ending was cheesy and just happened to fast in my opinion

Sophie wants to keep her little bookshop and refuses to sell to Alexander who wants to please his father by adding it to the list of other places he’s purchased. This was a good beach read with an interesting twist to this story. I’ll definitely read another Kellie Hailes book!

The Little Bookshop at Herring Cove is a fun entertaining quick beach holiday read, it’s a romance with just a touch of drama and it will make you smile.
Sophie runs the bookshop in Herring Cove and life hasn’t been easy, she took over the shop after losing both her parents and she is struggling to get her debts under control.
Alexander is in the Cove to build a resort and he needs some of the shops to sell to him so he can build on their land but Sophie refuses point blank to sell....
What starts off as just a business arrangement soon turns into so much more in this beautiful romance but will Alexander return to Herring Cove after leaving to confront his father and if he does what does he risk losing ......
A great holiday read

The Little Bookshop at Herring Cove is a quintessential beach read that you won't be able to put down this summer. The book is told from both Sophie and Alex's perspectives. Sophie is a bookshop owner in a small town on the English coast, while Alex is a developer trying to buy her bookshop for his family business' next resort development. But Sophie isn't going down without a fight and Alex decides to be more helpful than a hindrance. Romance blossoms and in the end everyone wins. You will undoubtedly breeze through this book like I did and you will be left wanting more of this easily loveable couple.

This was a light, enjoyable read with a cast of likeable characters and an interesting community situation. It is clear that Herring Cove needs change but the question of who will deliver it keeps the story going. When we first meet Sophie, she seems to be stuck in the past, resistant to change, and we get to follow her working through a few issues and reevaluating what she wants. There is potential for future stories within this setting and the overall feeling is uplifting.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of the book.

I loved the author's previous title "The Little Unicorn Gift Shop" so couldn't wait to get stuck into this one and I wasn't disappointed. There's a wonderful location in the form of Herring Cove and a fabulous cast of characters to keep you entertained as Sophie's story unfolds. I raced through it and although I was a little bereft at the end, you can't beat the warm fuzzy feelings it leaves you with.
