How to Raise a Plant was a short and fun read which I really enjoyed as someone who’s plant ownership went from one to a hundred in a very short span of time. It’s a very aesthetically pleasing guide, so if plant ownership isn’t for you, you might still want to consider it as a nice coffee table piece.

This book felt somewhat incomplete at times; there were dark grey squares on several pages with nothing in them. It felt like they should feature either text or photos. I also felt this way with the instructional guides. Step by step photos would have been helpful. As a complete newbie to looking after plants, I had to google what a node was and how to identify one. It would have been nice for this to be a one stop shop!

The information on pests was really useful, and I have a feeling that I’ll be coming back to that in the future. The same goes for the DIYs, they look super fun and I’m sure I’ll enjoy bringing them to life.

As someone who is really not green fingered this was a good read. The basics of how to keep houseplants alive are covered. That being said I'm sticking to the really hard to kill spiderplants for the time being.

I love any plant book and this one was no exception! I will definitely reference it in the future and hopefully purchase it.

This was a really cute and helpful book. I've had a garden for a few years but decided I wanted to start doing some container plants so when I saw this book, I thought it would be helpful and it was. There are several terms I have not heard of before that were explained very well. This was a nice and easy read and had a lot of cute pictures.

I want to start planting for decorating my house. I know nothing about plants. So this book gives a glimpse of where to start, and what to choose, or how to take care of each plant. And also it tells you what you can do with your plants. I would say the information is general, not in detail. But I guess it's enough for a newbie to understand it, and for further more information I guess you have to look it up online.

This book offers you a list of plants that you can start with. And each plant has an explanation of how to take care of it. The pictures in this book are pretty, it will motivate you to start your own pots.

When I read that "How to Raise A Plant And Make It Love You Back" was available for request on NetGalley, I jumped at the chance. Why this? While I love nature, tiny little plants, and cute pots, they do not love me. Thus, I have a tendency to kill them. This has gone so far, that not only do I joke that I have a brown thumb - opposite of a green one - but when I killed a plant due to dehydration, I decided to water the next accordingly: this turned out to be a cactus, so I killed it with too much love instead. For half of the summer, I favoured the Crowley Method TM by placing a dead plant on the balcony in sight line of my jade tree. I was aware that this could not continue.

"How to Raise A Plant And Make It Love You Back" is split into 5 chapters: Green Up Your Space, Maintaining Your Collection, Tools, Materials and Troubleshooting, Our Favorite Plants and How To Care For Them, DIY Projects, and Living With Plants

Each of those chapters provides a sweet little overview about the dos and don't of plant-care and helps you find a suitable place for your greenery. It is also a reminder that the greenery can't adjust to a different life in a flat that is not suited for it.

While this may crush many greenery dreams, the chapter "Our Favorite Plants and How To Care For Them" is your saviour. It offers you the choice of 13 plants to choose from. In doing so, the book provides stunning photographs along with vital information such as the soil it needs, how much water, care, and light.

For a beginner, this gives a good over-view of what is possible and to your liking. However, as a cat owner, I am aware that almost any greenery is poisonous to some degree for cats. Since I am not alone with pet owning, it would have been helpful to add if animals could end up at the vet should they nibble on a plant.

A lovely plus was the photography. Each plant photo was incredibly aesthetic and calming, just the type of plant lifestyle one imagines from a tiny flat filled with greenery. It felt a bit like scrolling through an instagram page with added info.

My favourite section had been the DIY Projects because it contained new ideas. One had been a plant terrarium and I am tempted to give this a try myself.

However, while that part was brimming with information, I had preferred for the book to have a few more handy tips, such as when to repot or which pot size to choose next. While there was a lot of superficial knowledge, it did not contain information that might help to make your garden in a pot thrive more.

In the end, "How to Raise A Plant And Make It Love You Back" is a good introduction for plant lovers who have never held a plant in their hands before and need to know the basic principle of plant care. It also contains new ideas what to do. Nevertheless, the information does not go very deep, and I wish that it would be more informative.

A good, comprehensive guide to raising houseplants, perfect for anyone from newbies to more experienced plant enthusiasts. I especially enjoyed all the tips for propagating new plants to keep or share with others! Some information I'd never come across before, such as how and why to quarantine a new plant and how to ship a cutting. There are lots of photos to help you learn how to care for your plants, and to give you inspiration on how to display them, as well as a guide to the authors' favorite plants and DIY projects to make your plants look fabulous! A very helpful book!

I found this to be extremely helpful as a beginner! It teaches the basic stuff in an easy manner and provided what tools are a must. My favorite part is definitely the plants they recommended and how to take care of them. I've been obsessing over succulents and cacti lately so it was really helpful. The DIY projects and how to take care of plants while you're away was really nice.

The photos and plants used were very beautiful especially the display section in the end.

Thank you so much Netgalley for providing me with the digital version for an honest review.

What a cute little read! This is super fun if you are looking for ways to brighten up your space using indoor plants! The book is bright and uplifting with lots of wonderful pictures and plant styling tips. This would be very fun for someone branching out into keeping more indoor plants or a good idea to give with a plant as well! I don't know how broad of an appeal this book has as it is basic instructions but it is still worth a read!

I found this book very basic. A lot of the information in this book is known to almost everyone, if you have or haven't plant experience. That's why I believe this is a book for someone who doesn't know anything about plants and how to take care of them. It would be a cute gift for a friend. Though I think the authors could have considered putting in more than the most basic plant knowledge. In the end the amount of knowledge I got through this book was little to none.

Besides the information, there's the pictures. Lots and lots of cute plant pictures that made me excited to get more plants. It provides some inspiration for my next plants and adorable ways to display them. Though I still get most of my inspiration on other platforms.

Don't get me wrong, this is a very pretty book and an excellent idea. Sadly, the book lacks any significant information and you could easily google ALL AND MORE stuff online without spending the cash on this.

This would be a great present for a college student just about to rent his/her own place and very eager to decorate using plants. I was looking for a present for an adult friend into plants (experienced green thumb) and also a good book for myself (novice) and it quickly became obvious to me that we both would need a different publication.

With thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for proving the book for free in exchange for a fair review.

This is such a brilliant little book for fans of indoor plants. I love that there’s lost of pictures, with many plant examples and how to care for them. The book has a section of DIY projects which is so cool, great for if you’re a bit crafty. I definitely recommend this book for someone wanting and introduction to indoor plants, it’d make a great gift with a plant! I’m not sure if it would appeal too much to people that are experienced at owning indoor plants as it seems more of an overview.

Fantastic book! Really insightful tips for buying, caring and propagating your plants. I've already started the water propagation of cuttings from several plants that I already own and can't wait to see the progress. Loved the watering whilst away ideas too!

This is a book for absolute beginners, and so it was ok for me, but I am pretty sure that people that love gardening and plants do not need this total lovely book with nice picture and clear explanations. But maybe I am wrong.

Questo non é un libro per professionisti, ma per chi ama le piante ma non se le sa gestire, anche perché vengono trattati proprio gli argomenti basilari, ma indubbiamente l'impaginazione e le foto lo rendono un volume veramente molto carino.

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!
