I really enjoyed this book. A great thriller storyline, with lots of twists and turns. Would recommend, and I will be looking to read more books by Adele Parks

Adele Parks writes so well. Her characters here are often unliveable if not downright unpleasant, but we are still gripped by their stories. A very good read.

Simon's relationship with alcohol has started to take precedence over everything else in his life, despite how much he loves Daisy and their daughter Millie. Things start to go terribly wrong for the family and I think I gasped out loud at a few points in the book as events unfolded.

Told in alternating chapters between Daisy and Simon's points of view, I absolutely couldn't put this down and meant for a very late night finishing it! The twists were amazing as I didn't see them coming.

This was an absolutely gripping read but very emotional at times too. I give it 5 out of 5.

Another great domestic thriller from Adele Parks. I've enjoyed all of these to date and this was no exception. The characters are not particularly likeable at all but credit to the author for creating an engaging plot around them, The twists towards the end were interesting, although the last one did feel a little bit far fetched. Highly recommended on the whole though!

I lost access to this eARC due to an issue with my kindle account - however I will probably try and access a finished copy of this once my library reopens (closed due to covid-19) as I am still very interested in this book. If I am able to get ahold of one, I will come back and review this properly.

Adele Parks is a go-to for the domestic thriller, knows how to grip and to twist, and this is no exception. Told from different view-points this has all the right ingredients and although I failed to warm to any of the characters, I can see this is exactly what a great deal of people enjoy.

I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ, and the author Adele Parks.
I feel like this mystery thriller started off ok, but went downhill quickly. The story meandered pointlessly from about the half-way point, with pretty unbelievable developments. The twist at the end was totally ridiculous.
Found myself rushing and skimming through to get it over with. Bit disappointing.

I really enjoyed this book. It drew me in from the start. I found the perspectives credible and the characters engaging and three dimensional. It was an examination of why people lie to themselves and others. I will recommend this book to friends and colleagues, as well as some of my more mature students.

You know when you like a book but can‘t really explain why? Well, that‘s this book. All of the characters were obnoxious and the storylines were rather unpleasant and far-fetched but I still couldn‘t put it down.

Perhaps it was good for a bit of escapism, just what I needed right now.

I have read all of Adele Parks’ domestic thrillers and this was my favourite by far. There were so many twists and turns! I liked the way it switched perspective between married couple Daisy and Simon too and really kept you guessing right up to the last page. I will certainly read more from Adele in the future and if you haven’t tried one of her domestic thrillers, this one would be a good one to start with.

I started this book knowing very little about it - a lot of time had passed from my reading the blurb to actually starting it, so it wasnt quite what I was expecting. It covers some difficult topics in alcoholism, fertility treatment, PND, sexual violence and the kitten scene (!). I found the characters pretty unlikeable and struggled to warm to them at all.

My first read of this author so am so pleased it was enjoyable. I’m going to buy more by her. This starts off as a sweet take and gradually gets darker. Some hard facts and she isn’t afraid to tackle delicate topics. Absolutely loved. 5/5.

Adele Parks is one of my must pick up immediately authors and I happy to report she doesn't disappoint with Lies, Lies, Lies.

Told from alternating perspectives of Daisy & Simon, I felt for both of the characters throughout and the plot is addictive, I found it difficult to put down because I wanted to find out what was really going on.

Whilst that final twist will certainly shock, I personally felt it distracted from the rest of the story.

Overall an enjoyable, brilliant characters and an ending you certainly won't guess.

Thanks to NetGalley & HQ for sending me this in exchange for an open and honest review.

Lies lies lies by Adele Parks
I rate this book 4.5 stars
Daisy and Simon’s marriage is great, isn’t it?
After years together, the arrival of longed-for daughter Millie sealed everything in place. A happy little family of three.
And so what if Simon drinks a bit too much sometimes – Daisy’s used to it, she knows he’s letting off steam. Until one night at a party things spiral horribly out of control. And that happy little family of three will never be the same again.
A domestic thriller that is addictive, intense, brilliant and moving!
It has everything you need for a compelling read, loved it!
Family, friends, an accident, prison.....and lies lies lies.
Adele Parks has done it yet again!
Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read this book

Characters I hated. A story I didn't connect with. Alcoholism, bullying and a child in the midst. Not for me.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

I absolutely loved this book, the interactions of Simon and Daisy, via a diary like mode was brilliant. I could not put this down. It made me laugh out loud and shed a tear. Parks puts you inside their heads in the most intimate way. Couldn’t recommend this highly enough.

I have read a few of Adele Parks' novels and have always enjoyed them. This one was no different.

While the characters of Daisy and Simon aren't really likeable at all I see this as a strength in Parks' writing in that she makes them realistic enough for me to have an emotional reaction to them. I kind of feel sorry for SImon as he is an alcoholic and this clouds his judgements but deep down he loves his wife and daughter.

As Simon and Daisy lie to one another, or don't disclose information, the situation they find themselves in just worsens and spirals out of control. Having the dual narrative of Simon's perspective and Daisy's really helps to have a balance overview of the plot and real insight into why certain things happen.

More than once I was shocked at plot twists and events that were revealed so that really pleased me.

This was fast heading for a 5 stars because of the twists and turns and unique feel to the plot. Some events were implausible but I could suspend disbelief as it is a work of fiction. However, I really struggled when the story behind Millie's conception was finally revealed - for me that was just one step too far into unbelievable.

I'll always enjoy picking up an Adele Parks book and her style is really engaging.

Thanks to HQ publishers, Netgalley and the author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It is captivating from the very first page, and sucked me in so much that I couldn’t sleep until I’d finished it!
The last 10% of the book is absolutely thrilling! My heart was in my mouth and the ending was just wow!
