I love Adele! She always keeps you on the edge of your seat, trying to guess the outcome. I read this in one sitting!

Unfortunately I read this book a while ago and seem to have missed it when writing reviews. - sadly I cant remember enough detail to give a full review.
However, thanks to NetGalley for the ARC :-)

Lies, Lies, Lies by Adele Parks, seldom was there such an apt title. Whilst I can see that lies are what gave substance to the story, as a reader I also felt lied to. I prefer to be a neutral observer as a reader. I felt the first half of the book was slow and frustrating in so far that the elephant in the room was being completely ignored in an unreal way. Then came the accident which was obviously not what was initially portrayed. When things started to unravel we had an allegation of rape which more or less resulted in the alleged perpetrator being killed. The police although suspicious never even looked for evidence on the vehicle used for the slaying. Whilst it was well written, the story was implausible.

If you’re looking for a tense family thriller, you will love #lieslieslies.

The twists keep coming and I liked the authors style, however there are themes of rape, alcohol addiction, animal abuse and postnatal depression which could make this book unsuitable for some readers. I found it a little hard going in light of some of these things, but the plot kept me reading. I do think that some of the story is implausible, but it’s fiction so I just went with it and it didn’t stop me enjoying it.

Thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for my free advance copy in return for an unbiased review.

As the titles suggests there are many lies that are hidden, but who has told the lies? Will the truth come out? If so, what will be the consequences of telling the truth?
Daisy and Simon are the parents of Millie. Ben drinks too much and this is taking its toll on their marriage. The impact of the lies begins to take hold almost immediately as the book opens.
Adele Parks is a wonderful storyteller and this is another great book. It deals with many hard hitting subjects and is not an easy read in places, but one which is well worth reading as it is such good quality and will stay with me for a long time.
It is hard to say a lot about the storyline without mentioning any spoilers, but needless to say they are many twists and turns as the lies start to unravel.
Thanks to NetGalley for a Kindle copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I always look forward to an Adele Parks novel; her stories are always a bit different to others, and stand out for that very reason. 'Lie, lies, lies,' was her latest great read!
Daisy and Simon are apparently happily married and have a young daughter together called Millie, their little miracle after years of unsuccessful attempts.
Simon drinks (just a little?) too much, the history of his habit explored in a brief prologue, so the reader knows immediately that it is going to be an issue.
Their current issue however, is Simon's wish to have another child, a sibling for Millie; Daisy is not keen, 'the years of trying to conceive' still very fresh and raw, but reluctantly agrees to begin the process.
BUT...when Simon attends a fertility clinic appointment, to his complete and utter shock, he is told that he is infertile, and has always been infertile, the implications of this information igniting a smouldering anger against his wife. Simon decides to keep this information a secret from his wife, and, as the seeds of distrust begin to grow, so their marriage starts to falter.
Daisy however, has disturbing secrets of her own, and they are going to have to come out sooner or later!
I really enjoyed this book and give it four stars.

I quite enjoyed this, I enjoyed reading from both Daisy and Simon’s POV In chapters.

A tense, page turning thriller.

There are secrets galore in this book, and I was just waiting for them to all come to the surface, the characters and flawed and some are unlikeable.

Tackles issues such as alcohol addiction, sexual violence, and PND, All of which are very apparent in today’s society and should be spoken about more openly.

I quite enjoyed this, thank you to the publisher and NetGalley

Well this book certainly wasn't for me.
Having never read an Adele Parks I was looking forward to this. This book promises to be a psychological thriller but for the most part follows an alcoholic struggling to get by.
I felt like the idea of lies wasn't really focused on until the last third of the book and at that point it became unnecessarily graphic and difficult to read from a personal standpoint.
The 'bad guy' has already been introduced as controlling and violent and just generally a horrible man, the graphic depiction of animal death was purely there for shock value and is something I abhor in books. I never would have picked this up knowing it was included.
Apart from my dislike of some topics in this book I will say I found Parks' writing style to be quick and easy to read and in this instance the multiple POVs worked really well, I'm not usually a fan.
While I'd be hesitant to pick up another one of her books due to her themes, if the TW were labelled I'd be much more likely to continue reading thrillers from this author purely based on writing style alone.

Trigger Warnings for Rape, animal death and graphic violence.
2.5/5 Stars

After a rather slow, frustrating start, this book bursts into life, immersing the reader into the psychological drama of a family damaged by alcoholism and the unspoken background and feelings surrounding it. What impressed me most was the gradual revelation of details that shift our perception of the situation, changing our sympathies as the novel unfolds. I found the book developed into a gripping read, once I had been drawn into the mind of Daisy and her real motivations. However implausible some of the action and irritating some of the reactions of the characters, I was totally hooked on how the story would play out.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I had a hard time not comparing this to her last book because I loved that one so much. The beginning of this book just irritated me with all of Daisy's enabling Simon to drink. The suspense was good in some places; dull in others. Did not see quite a few things at the end coming. The title fits tremendously.

While I did in fact buy a physical copy of this book, I would still like to thank Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

While enjoyable, I honestly expected better. This authors last few books were 4/5 star reads, so was surprised when this one didn't have the same gripping intense story.
Regardless I liked the characters, and the story was unpredictable and the plot was written well.
Expecting more from her next.

Certain authors write books and you know you will love them, Adele Parks is this kind of authors. Characters you can visualise, a story that grips you.....lies lies lies is an excellent book about a surburben family and a drama....thoroughly whole heartedly recommend!!

Daisy and Simon had a difficult time conceiving their 7-year-old daughter Millie, but Simon still now wants to try for another baby. Things get complicated when they make an appointment with an IVF consultant.
I found Lies, Lies Lies, Lies an overly long book, with too many story threads. Few of these were adequately developed, as the book is too long as it is. Many of the happenings seemed unlikely, but more importantly the characters of Simon and Daisy were also underdeveloped, and the chapters alternating between their voices were too similar. And as for Daisy’s best friend and her husband, what seemed like a perfect friendship started to feel like a friendship from hell.
I just couldn’t sign up and lose myself to this one.

With thanks to HQ and Netgalley

This was an easy, enjoyable read with rich characters and a fascinating, twisty plot. In the end it was a bit too twisty for me - the addition of twists and turns occasionally felt forced and hard to believe. Twists for the sake of twists, instead of twists to enhance the plot. Having said that, it is an excellent representative of the thriller genre and I recommend it to those that love a good twist and turn.

Enjoyable and slightly addictive ....keep one wondering ..What next? Worth a read to feel the tension in the twists and turns

I have to be honest and say that this book didn't grip me and has taken a while for me to read as I kept putting it down to read other things as I found it difficult to get into. The storyline sounds compelling with Daisy and Simon being married with a child, alcoholic Simon wanting a second child and Daisy not so keen. Their relationship begins to fall apart and when Daisy reluctantly attends a friends party the lies begin and the story starts to become a bit unbelievable. A shame as I normally love books by Adele Parks.
