I have enjoyed Adele Parks previous books but I really struggled with this one. I didn't like any of the characters and wished they would start thinking sensibly. The victim was of course the young bright young girl whoreally didn't have a chance.

Oh My Goodness, what a super ‘on the edge of your seat’ read!

This is the first book I have read by Adele Parks and I look forward to reading more of her work. This book based around a family - Simon, Daisy and their lovely daughter Millie. Very interesting characters, lots of twists and a great plot. Just when I thought I knew where the story line was going I was completely thrown with a new unexpected twist! Very cleverly written with such detail and you can tell that a lot has research has gone into all the issues addressed in the book. Adele Parks is such a talented writer - you get so immersed in the story and want to know what happens next. It is very hard to put down, a very gripping and captivating read. I think this would make a great film! If you love reading psychological thrillers then this is definitely one for you to read!

I loved I Invited Her In by Adele Parks so I was very excited to read her newest release.

Simon and Daisy are married with a six year old daughter called Millie. The story follows their relationship, the lies that each of them are telling and how everything comes out. It's so well written and at times you aren't sure what the truth actually is.

There are so many great topics covered - infertility, alcoholism and controlling relationships, to name a few. The ending where we find out the absolute truth shocked me and I'm still not sure what I think about it!

Daisy and Simon are happy together except when Simon drinks, he is an alcoholic. They spent many years trying to conceive with many failed IVF attempts before Millie was conceived. They both adore Millie. Simon is desperate for another child, Daisy is unsure.
A chance comment from the Dr changes everything. Simon starts drinking even more heavily and everything spirals out of control and their worlds come crashing down.

The story revolves around the aftermath and when the truth comes out things are never what they seem. A fantastic read with an ending I didn’t see coming.

I have read Adele Parks before and always enjoyed them as I did this one. Daisy and Simon led very difficult lives due to his drinking and infertility issues. She seemed to accept the drinking situation without too much drama although I guess that is what would happen in a situation like this. I felt her friends could have been more in tune with her problems and I feel they could have been more helpful as they just stood in the background. I don’t know anything really about people who drink to excess and maybe this is a idealist view on my part. I felt that Darryl’s character was challenging and would have thought that his sadistic character should have shown earlier at University but we can all keep our true selves under wrap and one lie leads to another. There were several twists in this book which made the reading of it interesting and the ending of the book was a surprise, a pleasant one must say. I have read some of the reviews on Amazon and wonder whether I was reading the same book. I felt it was definitely worth a read and a book I would recommend to friends

Simon and Daisy have been married for a long time. They have a talented and wonderful 6-year-old daughter, Millie. Daisy is happy to count their blessings, but Simon desperately wants another child.

They are at yet another consultant's office, a journey that they have made many times before, but Simon was ahead of the game and had been to see him on his own a few days earlier. The news he received from his consultation changes everything.

Daisy is a primary school teacher and is on the staff at Millie's school and Simon is an interior designer. He works with Daisy's best friend's husband Steve, so they all spend leisure time together. Their close-knit friends also include her sister Rose.

Simon keeps the conversation with the consultant to himself but his pain and anger manifest itself by his drinking getting out of control. He starts often before getting home from work and carries on all weekend. He finally loses his job and still won't talk to Daisy about it.

Things get worse, and Simon ends up in prison. The accident they have changes Millie's life forever, and Simon slowly comes to terms with what he has done and the repercussions in prison. Only friend Connie goes to visit.

In the intervening years, Daisy's story comes out when she confides in a friend. The most unlikely person, but how Millie was conceived is part of it.

This is about loyalties, lies, justice with punishment. The author has done a great job of making this a gripping story.

I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are all my own and completely unbiased. My thanks to NetGalley for this opportunity.

This is a very dark story. It is the story of Daisy and Simon. They seem a happily married couple with a six year old daughter Millie. They had had trouble conceiving and after trying for several years and IVF treatment Daisy becomes naturally pregnant and Millie was born. After what they had gone through Daisy was quite happy with one child but Simon becomes obsessed over wanting another child. He books an appointment at a fertility clinic but when he receives some devastating news then his love of alcohol takes over his life. This book is a difficult read as it covers distressing topics and is a rollercoaster of a read with so any lies revealed and so may twists and turns. The story is told in alternate chapters by Daisy and Simon and is set in 216 and 2019. I think Adele Parks portrayed life living with a alcoholic very sympathetic. Probably some of the plot was unconvincing but I was thoroughly gripped and found it a very enjoyable read.
Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

A successful married couple with a young daughter; they want another one but their age is against them.
There is also another major problem: Simon is an alcoholic but he won't admit it. It all comes to head when there's an accident And the world comes crashing down on Daisy and Millie.
Can a relationship survive with lies being told?
Will the truth come out in the end?
A great story about friendships, love and unseen obstacles.

Wow! What a book! I was on the edge of my seat all the way though. Just when I thought I’d got a handle on it, the story sharply twisted in another direction, and I was even more tightly involved!
With many moral questions, Ms Parks keeps us thinking right to the very last age.
This is a book with many depths, and I enjoyed it very much.

Daisy, Simon & daughter Millie look to to have a good life. Daisy loves her job as a Primary teacher. So what if Simon drinks a bit too much- everyone needs to let off steam sometime don't they? Millie is a delight, having been born after much difficulty in conception & there doesn't seem to any chance of a sibling. After making a devastating discovery, Simon's drinking descends into full blown alcoholism & this leads to a tragedy for them all.

Told by both Daisy & Simon this is a sad book in many ways. I wanted to shake some sense into Simon, but I got irritated by Daisy too- Millie was probably the most likeable character!

This was an good read. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

5☆ An Endearing and Thrilling Read!

Lies Lies Lies is a dark domestic thriller/noir which kept me hooked till the very end!

Simon was introduced to alcohol from an early age and it becomes very clear to see He has a problem!

Daisy and Simon appear to be happily married but there are hidden cracks. Despite trying to hide them, everyone on the outside can see Simon's drinking is spiralling out of control.

Daisy and Simon had spent years trying to have a baby, after so much heartache and failed attempts at fertility treatment they finally conceived naturally and the beautilly charismatic Millie is born.

Simon is so desperate to have another baby he bullies Daisy into attending an appointment to see if they can conceive again.
But Simon is told some devastating news and his world is about to be blown apart!

His drinking gets a whole lot worse! This is where I stop as i don't want to risk giving anything more away!

Lies Lies Lies is exactly what this book is about, secrets, lies, deception, tragedy, heartache, is rife throughout this enthralling book.
There are some difficult subjects such as alcoholism, fertility treatments, depression, but Adele has handled them with the right amount of sensitivity to still make a relevant impact.
The twists and turns are cleverly plotted, the characters are superbly written, desperately flawed and not always likeable.

So if you are looking for an endearing and thrilling read that will keep you turning the pages and an ending that will surprise you, then grab a copy of Lies Lies Lies by the very talented Adele Parks!

Thank you to HQ Publishers for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Daisy and Simon’s marriage is great, isn’t it?

After years together, the arrival of longed-for daughter Millie sealed everything in place. A happy little family of three.

And so what if Simon drinks a bit too much sometimes – Daisy’s used to it, she knows he’s letting off steam. Until one night at a party things spiral horribly out of control. And that happy little family of three will never be the same again.

This is actually the first book I've read by Adele Parks surprisingly, but I've heard her recommended over the years

This book started off quite slow for me, but once it picked up, boy did it pick up! So many twists and turns, that I ended up with a knot in my stomach and I raced through to the end!

3.5* rounded up to 4*.

A tale of deep, dark, deception and despair!

This was the first time that I had read an Adele Parks novel. What a page-turner a tale of deep, dark, deception and despair!

We are introduced to Simon and Daisy, seemingly very happily married, especially when they had their daughter, Millie, after several failed IVF attempts.

Their life was complete, wasn’t it? They had a wonderful group of friends who they’d known since university days. However, Simon’s excessive drinking started to impact is evident on everyone and was especially heartbreaking for Daisy, a Primary Teacher. Imagine the stress for her, struggling to combine her professional and personal lives.

As the situation of Simon’s alcohol addiction spirals downwards, a shocking event takes place, and things come to a climax!

There are secrets galore amongst all the group, so very cleverly woven together, hence “Lies Lies Lies” were in abundance! The author tackles the sensitive subject of addiction in such a delicate way, highlighting the issues facing the addict and their loved ones. Adele Parks has thoroughly researched such a complicated topic so that I was riveted from start to finish!

Leave it to Parks to pull a rabbit out of the hat at the last minute. She has this talent for sliding in the unexpected and catching her readers unawares.

The lie that turns Simon and Daisy's marriage on its head is a big one. The kind of lie you can't come back from and the kind that changes lives forever. It's not the cause of Simon's drinking problem, but it certainly exacerbates it. He becomes paranoid and suspicious. The trust between himself and Daisy is non-existent.

Meanwhile Daisy is putting on a brave face in front of family and friends. She has no idea Simon has caught her in a lie - blissfully unaware. What she does know is that his drinking is out of control and something has got to give. And it does, but not in the way either of them expect it to.

Whilst the two of them are so engrossed in their own brand of ego-trip and type of self-flagellation they do something unthinkable, which changes their little family forever.

Parks dives straight into the nitty-gritty of relationships and married life. Specifically what happens when the fragile balance between two people is thrown off-kilter by trust issues. Once there is an element of doubt in a relationship it grows like a weed.

It's a domestic noir thriller with elements of a psychological thriller. As usual Parks combines the controversial with the more normal everyday situations we have to deal with in life to create a captivating read.

I liked this book. I have only read one other book by this author - 'I Invited Her In' but I read this as part of my online book club. I enjoyed the writing style but found there were a lot of typos in the book. That said, I was immersed in the story, and enjoyed the many twists and turns throughout. I will definitely be looking at more of this author's work.

Daisy and Simon's marriage is creaking at the seams, mainly due to his alcoholism. He doesn't sem to think of himself as an alcoholic but needs booze to get him through each day. This is a story lo love and friendships, lies and misunderstandings. Blackouts due to alcohol and concussion play a key role. An important moral question is posed: When is it acceptable to lie?? A page turner.

Wow what a thought provoking, cleverly written, captivating read!

Why do people lie? Is it ever ok to lie? Sometimes people lie to protect others, is that ok? Is it best for the truth to come out in the end? These are some of the questions that have been going through my mind since finishing this book.

I was definitely hooked from the start and intrigued as the book description doesn’t give much away! At times I wasn’t sure where this book was going but as it progressed it totally surprised me with the path it took.
Parts of the story were truly heart breaking and had me feeling desperately sad for some of the characters. I always admire an author who can make their readers emotional from what they’ve written.
What I also really love is how this book made me hate a character from the start but had me liking and feeling sorry for them come the end.

There’s so much more I’d love to say about this book but I don’t want to give away any spoilers. I highly recommend giving this one a go, especially if you love psychological/ domestic type thrillers.

Thank you very much to Net Galley, Adele Parks and HQ for my copy of this book.
