Great weekend read. The characters and plot are wonderfully written - with enough plot twists to keep you guessing until the very end. Loved reading about the antiques, and even looked a few up!! Can’t wait to read more from this author

This was my first experience with this series. It definitely won't be my last. I am eager to read the preceding ones and any that follow. I can totally relate to the hearing aid problems, as well as the inaccurate closed captioning. While some of the overall mysteries were easy to guess, others were not. Enough characters and motives to keep one guessing about some things.

I felt it was a good story but rather repetitive in parts. The tension before and after the murder was good but then the bits where she was constantly feeding her cat treats was tedious and drawn out.

I was intrigued by the description of this book, and because I've read good things about this author, I decided to select it on NetGalley.
Manor of Dying is a fun story about a pair of friends who are designing the set and clothing the actors for a new television series.
I love anything about vintage clothing and furniture, so I new I was going to be in for a treat.
This book is full of twists and turns and when I reached the final sentence, I hated to say goodbye to my new friends.
I'm definitely keeping an eye on this series, I would love to list it in my top 3 favorites.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for approving me to read an advanced copy of this book.

Manor of Dying by Kathleen Bridge 3.5 stars

This is book 4 of the Hamptons Home and Garden Mysteries. Book 3 - Ghostal Living was published in 2017 by Penguin/Berkeley.
It has been awhile and I am happy that Ms. Bridge is continuing this series with Beyond the Page Publishing. Meg Barrett and her friend Elle are on their way to Shelter Island to help the set designer of a new TV mystery mini-series. The series takes place during the 1930's, so Meg and Elle have to find all the period appropriate props available at the Nightingale estate. Once a private asylum with a notorious past, the manor is currently owned by Dr. Blake Nightingale, a plastic surgeon turned reality star. Dr. Blake Nightingale is renting the house and its contents because of money troubles due to a botched surgery. The first few chapters provide historical background on the estate and introduce the players. Meg is having a good time poking her nose into everything, but circumstances trap her and others in an elevator overnight. When they finally get off the elevator, they find Dr. Blake Nightingale dead with an ice pick through is chest.

I found this mystery to be interesting, however, I don't seem to have the same feeling for this book as I did the previous three mysteries. Meg seems to have a curious streak a mile wide and can't seem to help herself from poking in places she shouldn't be in. The fact that she gets caught poking and does not suffer any consequences doesn't seem real. I did enjoy the details about the furniture and decorative items in the manor.

Thank you Netgalley and Beyond the Page Publishing for this ARC.
