I really wasn’t a fan of this book. I nearly stopped reading this but I preserved and hoped it would improve but sadly this never happened.
Very disappointing

A delightful story about second chances. Natalie is horrified to find herself at thirty-two - a single mother and back living with her mother in Chiddingfold. Her boyfriend Leroy left her when baby Hera was just two weeks’ old. It works well living with her mother though, Natalie has been able to continue her job as a fashion and beauty PR agent with her mother willing to help look after adorable Hera, and she has sworn off men for ever so no problems from that point of view. It is going to be her and Hera against the world!

Her mother persuades her to go with her to a fund-raising evening, they have both been going to this annual event since she was about twelve. When she arrives she bumps into Will, the boy who had broken her heart when she was sixteen. He has been a real high-flyer in the newspaper world, often seen on the television reporting on crises around the world; he has been married, and divorced, then lost his job when the newspaper group he worked for sold out to a rival, and the entire staff were made redundant.

They both buy a lot of raffle tickets, as the first prize is a luxury holiday in Marrakesh and they could both do with a relaxing holiday. Due to a misunderstanding they both end up winning, and having to share the holiday. To add to their problems the wrong holiday has been provided, they are given a honeymoon, with a luxurious honeymoon suite; and a sharp eyed hotel owner who disapproves of their passports having different surnames ... and shock, horror! Neither of them are wearing a wedding ring!

The tensions involved are amusing to read and feel very real, as is their gradual relaxing with each other, and getting used to being considered a couple. This is a well written story, it is very funny, and very poignant in places, with a very sweet happy ending. Well worth reading

When life isn't exactly all it should be, a raffle win puts Natalie Jackson in the, perhaps, enviable position of being the winner of a holiday of a lifetime prize - the prize, however, comes with rather too many strings. Entertaining, humorous romantic comedy - nicely written, feel-good fiction. Enjoyable escapism.

I loved this book from the very beginning right to the end. I just didn't want the story to stop.
Easy read romance. I'm convinced the raffle was rigged but we shall never know...
Very happy to recommend the author.

This is a sweet story of second chances. Natalie and Will were childhood sweethearts from a small Surrey village until one day they weren't. Fast forward and they have each made a name for themselves in London and each seemed to have it all until one day they didn't. Both end up back in their little village and bump into each other for the first time in years. Do you ever really stop loving your first love? It would seem so, for Nat. Until they end up having to go on a romantic getaway for 2 to Marrakesh after the town raffle prize draw got out of hand. So the question re-opens for Nat - do you ever really stop loving your first love?

I give this 4.75/5 stars. This was a genuinely lovely story and I love a good second chance romance. I really felt like I could relate to this story more than most books. Nat (like myself a few years ago) found herself a single mum and was trying to traverse the work hard mum hard lifestyle and it was mostly set in Marrakesh on Nat and Will's holiday and that's where my husband and I went on our honeymoon so it was just all the feels for me. Zoe May's incredibly accurate descriptions of Marrakesh and the surrounding desert took me right back to my honeymoon and it was so nice to bask in that sun again in my memories whilst reading this story. I think I had a smile plastered on my face the whole time. It's a quick read and absolutely a perfect holiday read.

I’ve always loved Zoe’s female leads and Natalie is now another I can add to the list. She is such a lovely woman who really is in need of catching a break, after her fiance left her for another woman and now being a single mum, it’s safe to say Natalie is in desperate need of some relaxation and what better way than spending four days in Marrakesh? After winning the holiday during a raffle, Natalie was ready to get her best-friend to join her on a girly holiday, however, there was a mishap whilst drawing the tickets and instead, she finds herself on a romantic getaway with her childhood love/nemesis. The background between Natalie and Will is filled with so much puppy love, until Will crushed young Natalie’s heart during a camping trip. It seems that after that moment, to this day, Natalie still holds a grudge over Will, therefore it may take some time for his obvious charm to kick in and win her over.

Zoe has done it once again with this gorgeous, fun and light-hearted Summer read. She is hands down, as I always say, one of my favourite authors, to the point where I just purchase her books without even reading the blurb – I just know I’m going to love them and I’ve not proven myself wrong as of up to now! I really liked the speediness of the book, as the majority of the book was only in the space of four days, Zoe did a great job of squeezing everything in and what better way to end the book than with a time jump! I was so happy about Natalie and Will’s ending and closed the book feeling very satisfied. Now, to wait for Zoe’s next creation – I can’t wait!

Zoe May is such a sweet author. She reminds me of every other British author and that’s a good thing! They’re fun and quick reads. They don’t bring much new to the table but that’s nice, too.

What a hilarious fun read! They should defiantly make this story into a movie I would love that! Had me laughing my butt off the whole book it also had that fun romance trope of enemies to lovers that is just so irresistible to read about! Natalie was an amazing character full of spunk and wit she had me rooting her on by chapter one! This has defiantly became a favorite romantic comedy read for me and I will be checking out this authors other works!!

I really wanted to like this book but sadly didn’t finish it
I didn’t enjoy the style of writing and found that the first chapters just waffled
I loved the idea of the storyline but sadly this one wasn’t for me

A sweet story, and a fun premise, but it needed a more subtle touch. Natalie is down on her luck, starting over with a baby at her mom's house after her fiancé cheats on her. She ends up winning a ticket for a trip with none other than her first love. So, far so good, her problems are relatable and the set up allows for plenty of fun, romantic situations in a second chance romance. But there were too many situations, one after the other; so much that it felt over the top, forced. I realize that humor can vary a lot from person to person, but I found that I was thinking "oh, this is a laugh out loud moment," but I wasn't actually laughing. I was understanding where the funny moments were, but I wasn't feeling them. And then Natalie seemed immature for a grown, professional woman with a baby, so I had a hard time relating to her and rooting for her.

Thanks to NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

#AsLuckWouldHaveIt is a second chance at romance for Natalie and Will. High school sweethearts meet again in their 30's and end up posing as honeymooners on a trip they have won.
Zoe May had me laughing ( OK, snorting) out loud at the situations her characters got into! A gentle, no sex please, we're British, kind of book that was a pleasure to read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book in return for an honest opinion. Thanks to #Netgalley and the publisher for tge opportunity!

Natalie is back home, living with her mom, newly single from her ex-fiance and with a baby on the hip. She runs into her first love - who broke her heart at sixteen - at a fundraiser, where she wins a holiday to Morocco with none other than Will, the guy who broke her heart at sixteen and whom she is still clearly pining for. This book was just okay. It just did not have enough substance for me leaving the story a little flat. I felt Natalie, the protagonist, was very childish at times. For example, the fundraiser scene where she sees Will for the first time after several years. She acted like she was sixteen all over again. It was so cringe worthy to the point where I felt quite embarrassed for her. I felt the story at times was a bit melodramatic. There was a scene, approximately three pages long, where they could not get over the fact that they had missed their tour bus. The connection between Natalie and Will was sweet but lacked depth. I did like Will as a character, much more than Natalie, but unfortunately it was not enough to carry the story. I just felt this book was trying too hard to be romantic and funny whilst sincere that it just fell flat.

I had a hard time getting into this book. It was cute in some parts, but other parts fell flat unfortunately.

This is my second book read by Zoe May and to be honest, I don't think that I am a fan of her writing. this just wasn't for me.

I wasn't able to get in to this title, perhaps it just wasn't for me but I re-started it twice in the hopes that I would come around. It was a DNF for me.

This was a lighthearted summer romantic read. I was expecting ‘boy meets girl’ boy loses girl’ boy and girl get back together’. However, there was no twist in the middle like I was expecting. It was well written, and a happy story, but just not the excitement I thought there would be.
