This was an excellent book with some beautiful illustrations. A bit tricky to read as a Pdf but worth the effort.
Lots of information about the history of gardens and gardening, without being too dry.
I felt that some of the chapters could have had more text and history as half of it was taken up with illustrations.
An expensive real book as it is quite a short book.

This is a sort of dictionary of gardening terms, tools, and ideas. I learned new terms for garden features that I didn't know had a name, and also learned about the history of some things where I knew the term but not the background. A fun book to poke around in...you don't have to read the entries in order.

Interesting and very easy to read descriptions of various gardening techniques. Short (less than two pages each) chapters on subjects as varied as roses, the lawnmover, garden rooms, organic gardening, and so on and so on. Fifty chapters in all. I learned a little. Would be good for beginning to moderately skilled gardeners.

This book is a very interesting read, mainly about the history, garden movement and ever changing topography of the garden. I found this book extremely easy to read and a fascinating excursion into the people and innovations that that have moulded our garden to the present day. It is very up to date and sensible, with good examples and I love the black and white illustrations at the start of each chapter.

I'm a keen gardener and found this book both amazing and enthralling.
I loved the wonderful pictures and the well written and well researched texts.
I think this is a must read for anyone interested in gardening.
Highly recommended!
