The Patient by Steena Holmes was disjointed and hard to follow the POV from the different characters. The premise was good but the characters were not very likeable. Others will probably enjoy the book, it just didn't
resonate with me.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

The Patient was my first book by Steena Holmes but certainly won’t be my last. I loved it! I was sucked in right from the start and didn’t want to put it down until I finished it. Great read.

I enjoyed reading this book. It had a good story to it. I liked the variety of characters in it. I hope to read more books by this author.

Very entertaining. A very strong 4 stars. Even though I had the book figured out about ¼ of the way in I am really glad that I continued to read it. Even though I knew the basis of the ending, there were still a lot of surprises in there. Overall a great read.
I want to thank netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The Patient by author Steena Holmes is a great book! Wasn’t too out there and wasn’t crazy boring.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

WOW! This book made me feel like I was down the rabbit hole, running in search of someone, but sometimes trying to hide. I also felt drugged with so many questions circling around in my mind! NO, I'm not a drug addict and have never had anything stronger than a prescribed pain medication either! What a very different thriller, it had me guessing and second guessing who the murderer was! I did finally guess, but only near the end, with one small clue, but the ending still blew me away!
I have read several of this authors books and enjoyed all of them, however this story was so different from any of her others! I strongly recommend this book that deserves 5+ big stars! Congratulations to Steena Holmes on a new genre that you nailed perfectly. Also many thanks for allowing me to read an advanced readers copy. I feel truly blessed and thrilled to have been able to read it early.

This book is very hard to review and rate, mainly because I can't go into detail. Let me try this way: it's worth a try. The storytelling isn't the most easiest to follow sometimes but if you stick along you'll understand. I enjoyed the read and give a big thank you to the publisher, Netgalley and of course to the author for his book!!!!

The Patient was a great thriller that left me guessing. Just when I thought I had it figured out, another twist was thrown in there to keep me reading. My first book by Steena Holmes, but will definitely not be my last.

Thank you to NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

DNF at 33%. I received an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the premise of this book, but I struggled to stick with it. I found the narrator hard to follow - she fluctuated so drastically from emotion to emotion, and she was very quick to judge those around her, but was angry when they did the same. I wanted to like this, but it fell flat.

This book kept me guessing from the beginning. Danielle is a therapist in a sleepy little tourist town. One of Danielle's patients might be the small town's serial killer. All of the murders are the same. Parents killed, kid untouched. All of her patients/clients have parental issues of some sort. The stress might just be getting to be too much for Danielle. Following the story of her trying to figure out the situation and coping with her own past and handling of stress is gripping. I could barely put it down. I love everything that Steena Holmes writes, but this one had me chewing on the ending for days after finishing. I'm still doing some processing and will probably read it again to pick up different details. I recommend this for anybody who likes a good mystery with great characters. You can tell Steena did some research into the world of therapy while writing this!

Danielle Rycroft is a therapist that thinks one of her patients is a killer. Danielle lives in the small town of Cheshire, whose entire backdrop is Alice in Wonderland. I absolutely love the Alice in Wonderland theme. It works so perfectly with this story! Danielle has 3 patients and she is worried one of them is a murderer. Murders have rocked the small town as the parents are brutally murdered but their children remain asleep in their beds. Danielle has terrible headaches and can not sleep so she sees a therapist to help her sort out her feelings. This story has so many twists and turns and absolutely all of the characters are less than truthful. You the reader are taken on the ride and trust me is a great one! This book shocked me and I loved it!!! I received an advanced readers copy and all opinions are my own.

“Simply existing wasn’t enough for me. In order to live life the way it was meant to be experienced, I had to push past my own boundaries and embrace every adventure that came my way.”
Wow... I was hooked from that paragraph!
Dr Danielle is a therapist with three different patients, each vastly different. All while Dr D feels one of her patients is stalking her!
Not giving any spoilers, but I loved it. I was intrigued by the therapy sessions and the Alice in Wonderland backstory !
A different kind of book for Steena Holmes but I like this style !

This was a fantastic book that I devoured in one sitting. The mystery and the characters were wonderfully written. I highly recommend this book if you love psychological thrillers and mysteries.

I really wanted to enjoy this book, especially since the previous reviewers spoke so highly of it but I was left very disappointed. I found the story to be very off the whole time and it felt like everyone was living in a magical Alice in Wonderland city that was too unbelievable to be plausible.. The only thing I enjoyed were the last few pages.

Wow, Sheena this was a great book. Every time I thought I knew who did it, you would throw in a twist and I would think it was someone else. If you like mystery thrillers this is a must read. Thank you Steena Holmes and Net Galley for giving me an opertunity to read an advance reader copy.

SERIAL KILLER
Dr. Danielle Rycroft suspects one of her therapy patients is a serial killer in an intense psychological thriller that will blow your mind.

WILD RIDE!
I’d initially found the patient sessions completely inauthentic, based on my past experience as a psychotherapist. I also disliked all of the characters with their irritating emotional wounds. But I hung in and I’m glad I did because the plot explodes, explaining these “failings” in a way that will gobsmack you. I won’t reveal details. You’ll just have to take the wild ride with THE PATIENT yourself.

Thanks to Steena Holmes, Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for the review copy. Opinions are mine.

Definitely an I can’t put it down kind of read. I did have it figured out early on but kept turning page after page with a slight bit of doubt. I have always loved this authors books and she has taken on a new road with this one and it does not disappoint. Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the ARC

A community is terrified when a serial killer streaks, killing parents while leaving their children sleeping safely in their beds. Danielle Rycroft is worried she may know who the killer is, that it may be one of the troubled clients she counsels. Knowing she cannot break doctor patient confidentiality, she turns to a friend on the local police force and her own therapist for guidance, never knowing that she may be confiding in the wrong person

I could not put this book down and stayed up entirely too late to finish it. I don’t even have the proper words to describe it. Whew. Just read it. Read it right now!
