Save Your Breath is the concluding book in Melinda Leigh's Morgan Dane series and whilst I must acknowledge to being late to the party as this is only the second book I've read. I have to say I've absolutely devoured both of them.

And Save Your Breath certainly sends Morgan off with a bang. As this was a thrilling, suspenseful and gripping read. That kept me up far too late as I couldn't stop reading and I specifically loved the mix of procedural detail and mystery it offered.

Furthermore, I had no clue who had kidnapped Olivia until they were revealed or how the two cases she was looking into could help Morgan, Lance and Lincoln find her. Still, it all came together superbly and the twist near the end was not only unexpected but awesome.

Plus, I found the last chapter very gratifying and sweet and thought it was the perfect note on which to stop the series. And I would unquestionably recommend this book and series to others.

This series is always a winner for me. I was craving a mystery and knew Leigh would give me a whopper. Her books flow effortlessly through different views, multiple leads and the chaos of family life. Throughout the series Morgan and Lance have grown into a wonderful relationship, the kids, Grandpa and Gianna have been perfect supporters. Their friend and partner, Sharp, is a tough nut but he's found something in Olivia, the reporter we've met before. This is Olivia's terrifying kidnapping story and what friends will do to save each other. A lot gets wrapped up here so I'm afraid to assume this is the end, maybe we'll get more. I received my copy through Netgalley.

Let's all take a moment to mourn the end of a fun and engaging series. I was dismayed to learn that this was the last in what is promoted as a romance series. Sure we have our lovely main characters who are getting over past traumas and falling in love, but it seems that the fight for justice and the need to help people is really the glue that holds these stories together. Thankfully, Ms. Leigh does not go out on a white horse in the final book. Instead, the situation is more personal and dire than ever before and oh, by the way, there is a wedding in two weeks! This was definitely a must read series for me. Enjoy each book and be rewarded when the last on is actually the best!

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoy this series, but this book can be a stand alone. I highly recommend you read the series though. These characters are amazing to get to know. In this story, we see Morgan and Lance trying to plan their wedding when Sharp's new love, Olivia, is kidnapped. This rocks all of them, and they begin searching for her. Great story and great twists!.

Will they find her in time? Olivia Cruz has a big decision to make she just isn't too sure on what to do and she hopes by talking to Lincoln Sharp that she will know what to do. She is meeting up with him & his team tomorrow and she knows that he will give her guidance. Everything is still new between them but she hopes that they can get a chance to see where their relationship will go. Sharp gets a call the next morning as Olivia seems to be missing as she never turned up at her mother's. Is he jumping the gun and thinking the worst? This isn't like Olivia and he fears that someone has taken her, but who and why?
Morgan & Lance know that they have to keep an eye on their friend as he will go off the rails quickly. Could the suicide of a woman at their premises have something to do with Olivia? What was she looking for and will they find her before it is too late? Sharp won't stop looking for her and he knows that she is out there somewhere he just needs to find the clues that he needs. Olivia is fighting hard to survive but she is battling to breathe and she fears that no one will ever find her. Can she hold on long enough for Sharp to find her? A great thrilling read. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Save Your Breath by Melinda Leigh that I read and reviewed.
The sixth book in the Morgan Dane series was one of the best. The entire team of Morgan, Lance and Sharp work together to find Olivia the reporter that Sharp has been dating and was kidnapped from her home. They have no idea who took her but have leads from her notes on a book she is looking into writing about two cases that she is questioning if the men in prison are guilty or not. The team is working against the clock against an unknown kidnapper with a number of suspects and no clue who has Olivia or is it someone that isn’t even on their radar?
This book had so many twist and so many things going on Leigh kept the reader on the edge of their seat throughout the entire book. I loved it. I also loved how she kept everyone in the Dane series in this book and gave the reader some closure to some storylines. I am not sure if this is last of the the series but if it is this was one heck of a farewell.
Save Your Breath gets five out of five stars.

Save Your Breath is Book 6 in Melinda Leigh’s amazing Morgan Dane series, and the final installment. I have enjoyed this series immensely, so when I received an invitation from the publisher, via Net-Galley, I immediately accepted. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

Sigh, I will miss Morgan Dane and Lance Kruger! They are fantastic characters that have earned my respect and admiration. What an incredible duo! Melinda Leigh’s ability to write suspenseful scenes that have me sitting on the edge of my seat never ceases to amaze me. Her cutting-edge writing is swift, her dialogue is sharp. It grabs me from the first page and holds in its thrall until the last.

Morgan Dane is an ex-prosecutor, turned defense attorney. Her office is in the same building that houses the Private Investigating firm of Sharp and Lance Kruger. Her character is bold and fearless, yet she’s a loving granddaughter and mother of three adorable little girls. Her ability to focus on her career while raising her children is admirable. I’ve enjoyed watching her fall in love with Lance.

In Save Your Breath, she’s weeks away from their wedding, when their fellow colleague’s love interest disappears under suspicious circumstances. Morgan and Lance immediately offer their expertise to Sharp. Thus, begins the new exciting adventure that will tax even their amazing skills as investigators. Will they find Olivia in time, or will they fail for the first time?

Lance Kruger is an awesome hero, and a great partner for Morgan. I’ve seen their romance grow steadily throughout this series. He’s a tender soul who loves to play the piano and sings. He relishes the time he spends with Morgan’s three little girls. He respects Morgan’s need to be an independent woman and doesn’t try to hold her back, even when she’s facing danger. Instead, he stands at her side, ready to lend her a hand. His love for her is immense.

If you enjoy a romantic thriller that will leave you breathless and wanting more, then you will love Save Your Breath. While this novel can be read as a stand-alone, I suggest you read the other books in this fantastic series. You won’t regret it. If you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, all the books are available, and you can read and listen for free. Happy reading!

I received an ARC from Netgalley and I am voluntarily giving this review.

This one tugged at my heart when Olivia was kidnapped from her home in the middle of the night. Sharp fought so hard to start a relationship with her and was devastated when she disappeared. With so many in the suspect pool, it took Morgan and Lance to keep Sharp grounded in order to find Olivia before it was too late. I'm still crying over the great ending for all the couple's and gift to Gianna. Great work from Melinda Leigh.

4.5 Stars!

Save Your Breath was another enjoyable installment in the Morgan Dane series with an intriguing mystery and some great developments for the characters.

Attorney Morgan Dane and her fiancé PI Lance Kruger are hoping to avoid taking on any big cases in the weeks leading up to their wedding, but when their friend, and fellow PI, Lincoln Sharp’s girlfriend goes missing they immediately offer to help. Sharp knows Olivia wouldn’t go willingly and he fears for the worst. As the trio begin to dig into Olivia’s life and work, they discover she was researching two murder cases where she uncovered information with dangerous implications. With time running out to find Olivia alive, and their list of suspects growing by the day, Morgan and Lance are in a race against the clock to catch the person responsible before it’s too late.

The mystery of what happened to Olivia was intriguing as while the book opens with her abduction, we have no information as to who has taken her or why. It was interesting watching Morgan, Lance, and Sharp look for Olivia as they have very little information to go on. While most of the story followed Morgan, Lance, and Sharp, we did get several chapters from Olivia’s point of view while she is being held captive. Those scenes definitely upped the suspense factor as the book went and added a sense of urgency about finding Olivia before it was too late. I thought the way Olivia’s disappearance wrapped up was well done with just the right amount of action and a great showcase of Morgan, Lance, and Sharp’s skills.

The characters in this series are wonderful and they’re one of my favorite things about the series. Morgan is an amazing main character who we’ve seen grow quite a bit from the first book in the series. Her relationship with Lance is fantastic and I love how far they’ve come from their tentative working relationship in the beginning. Morgan’s grandfather once again helps Morgan work through the mountain of paperwork they uncover in this case and I love how much he helps the group out with Morgan trusting his instincts implicitly. Sharp is a lot more on edge in this book but that was understandable given the circumstances. I like how much his and Olivia’s relationship has progressed and the direction it’s heading in.

Overall Save Your Breath was just as fantastic as the rest of the series. I highly recommend this series if you’re looking for some great romantic suspense with more of a focus on the suspense.

I hadn’t realised that this was the sixth book in the series with Morgan Dane and Lance Kruger in. So I felt at a bit of a disadvantage not knowing the history behind the characters. However, I will be rectifying that and have purchased the previous five books. This book can be read as a stand-alone novel as the story is self contained.

This is a great romantic suspense novel, a book with great characters who are very likeable, they feel like they are real people. I enjoy reading this type of book in between some of the more grittier crime novels.

Morgan Dane is an attorney , Lance and Sharp are PI’s in the Company. Sharp needs help, his new lady, reporter and true crime writer Olivia Cruz has gone missing, it is believed she has been kidnapped. But why? Olivia has been doing research into a past client of Morgan’s who had committed suicide, could this be the connection? It seems they aren’t short on suspects. Morgan is also juggling being a mum, as well as her and Lance finalising wedding arrangements.

This book is gripping from start to finish, it keeps you guessing until the big reveal at the end. There are tears, laughter and action. What more could you want from a book.

The characters are well rounded, the story seems well researched with legal terminology and references. I really a great read curled up in a chair relaxing. Perfect.

Thank you to netgalley and Montlake Romance publishers for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review

I was really happy to be able to read a copy of this book. This is an excellent addition to an outstanding series. This is a nice tight romantic suspense book that's light on romance heavy on suspense. Family is oh so important in this series and I enjoy that. I can't wait to see where we go from here.

Attorney Morgan Dane and P.I. Lance Kruger are several weeks away from their wedding when true crime writer Olivia Cruz disappears. Lance’s partner, Lincoln Sharp, has been involved with Olivia and has no idea where she is. There are no clues to her disappearance, but Sharp knows she would not have missed an appointment with her mother unless something was terribly wrong. They begin to search through the two cases that Olivia was investigating, hoping that they will find a connection. Morgan and Lance spend as much time as possible with her three children while their live-in nanny, Gianna, suffers a health scare while waiting for a kidney transplant. It is obvious that someone doesn’t want them searching for Olivia as a bomb is placed near their office. Will the information as to who may have abducted her arrive too late? Ms. Leigh writes well-rounded, action-packed mysteries with continuing characters that have made this one of my all-time favorite series. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Ahhhhhh this book was just so good. I just couldn't get enough of it. I'm so excited to see what's next from this author.

Leigh has created a thrilling series that I truly enjoy. Light on romance yet heavy on mystery and suspense, this is a captivating series that will draw you in. Save Your Breath is the sixth installment in the Morgan Dane series and while each book can technically be read as a stand-alone, I strongly recommend reading the series in order to really get to know the characters, the intricacies of how they work, their friends and family and day-to-day events that tie the entire series together. Each book in the series has its’ own crime to solve but there is a series long arc surrounding Morgan and Lance and their growing relationship.

This particular book revolves around Morgan and Lance helping Sharp, their friend and Lance’s partner, solve the disappearance of his lady love. With police hands tied from lack of evidence of a crime and little clues to go on, the three dive into the void to piece together Oliva’s last hours before her disappearance and unravel the mystery before it is too late. Aided by Morgan’s grandfather and Lance’s mother, the team is set and ready to rock and roll. However, the more they dig, the grimmer of a picture forms. Will they be able to piece together all the clues and find Olivia before time runs out?

There is plenty of suspense, drama, and mystery to enjoy in this read along with a touch of off-the-page romance and a delightful HEA for Morgan and Lance. Some of the plot sequences were slightly predictable in places but it still does not take away from the excitement of the story. I believe this is the last book in the series and though I would have liked to have seen more of Sharp and Oliva, this book is a nice wrap-up to the series.

*I received an ARC from the publisher, thru NetGalley and am providing my honest review.

I loved this book. I loved that Sharp and Olivia played a main roll in it. This book emphasized the three types of family. The one you’re born into, the one you marry into and the people you choose as family. Again, the plot was great, and the writing was up to the high standard I associate with Melinda Leigh.

I have enjoyed all the Morgan Dane books, but Save Your Breath is my favorite to date. Melinda Leigh knows how to write suspense and keep me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

Lincoln Sharp's special lady friend, investigative journalist and author, Olivia Cruz, is kidnapped in the middle of the night from her bed. There are few clues to go on to find her, but Lincoln is determined to to do just that along with the help of attorney Morgan Dane and her fiancé, ex-cop turned PI, Lance Kruger.

Olivia has been researching the trials of two men in two separate murder cases. Is her kidnapping related to her research and what she's found out? Getting information is like pulling teeth for the trio of sleuths, but connecting the dots just might lead them to Olivia and her abductor. Can they find her before it's too late or has her fate already been sealed?

Fast paced, exciting read that kept me glued to the pages. Many twists and turns that didn't give me even a tiny clue as to who the kidnapper was or why Olivia was taken until the very end. Excellent Must Read Book.

Note: No foul language and no sexual content. Book is appropriate for any age.
