This was my first read in this series. I wasn't sure what to expect but I did enjoy this book. It didn't seem to matter that I hadn't read any other books in the series, each book is a standalone. I'm sure you feel more connected if you have read other books in the series but for me it was fine. The community and characters in this book were likable and the book pulls you in. It's a fast-paced easy read. I liked that it wasn't a perfect romance, that there were bumps in the road. I think some issues could have been explored more but overall it's a great easy read.

Thank you Net Galley for providing me with a copy in exchange for a review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

The community in the Love Hart Lane series is everything you could hope for. Warm, friendly, supportive, and a higher than average availablilty of upstanding, eligible men. The hours fly by as you catch up with the latest comings and goings in the village of Heartcross and new opportunities for romance are realised, whilst more established relationships are put to the test. A lovely series and I can't wait to read the next one.

Clover Cottage is the third book in this series but can totally be read as a standalone. Rory and Allie's future is almost written for them. In a relationship for some time, it looks like a life together seems inevitable. Marriage, kids, the dream cottage that has been left to Rory. Though, its in a bit of decrepit state but it could be made into the perfect marital home. But, Rory has wanderlust. He dreams of adventure and those dreams will ultimately impact on Allie. When an opportunity to work in Africa presents itself, both Rory and Allie must make some difficult decisions.

Written from the perspectives of both characters, we gain some insight into how each is feeling and what is driving their decisions. However, I did find myself falling more into camp Allie than completely understanding Rory. Then I kept changing my mind and had some idea of the characters inner turmoil. Very cleverly written! The message I got from the book was do we play things safe and do what is expected and lose ourselves completely to the control of others? Or do we follow our dreams, risks and all? Sometimes we need to step outside our comfort zones. This is such an amazing character driven novel that I fell in love with every single one of them.

I'm so proud of how far Christie Barlow has come in her writing. Her writing has gone from strength to strength and Clover Cottage was what was needed, particularly during this very stressful time in everyone's lives. It was a welcome distraction and Love Heart Lane felt like a safe place to be. It's a book all about community and love which lets face it, we all need a bit of that. It's about coming home, whether that be a physical place or somewhere within ourselves.

Thank you to Netgalley for a pre publication copy. In return for an honest review! #Clovercottage #netgalley

Allie has had a childhood full of upheaval moving from pub to pub where ever there was a job for her father. Until she moves back to Heart cross in the Scottish Highlands she finds home alongside her boyfriend and local vet Rory. At the summer fete Zach Hudson a Netflix celebrity comes along and then the fun begins!

After reading book 2 in the series "Foxglove Farm." I have been following the author on Facebook knowing I wanted to read this book, book 3 in the love heart lane series, when it came out.

This is book 3 however you would not know this when reading and this book makes a great stand alone book, Something I think this author has got down to a fine art.

Once opening the book it is a page turner. The heart cross community are loving characters, each with their own secrets and hardships, who you totally feel yourself taking into your heart. They show you their emotions and allow you to become invested into their lives. They each bounce off the next person and you know that Heartcross brought them their for a reason.

This book is a great summer romance read and you never feel that you are missing anything from the story line allowing you to follow it through until the end with confidence that you will get a good ending. Although their are some emotional subjects included in this book such as financial issues, dementia, children's homes and mental health issues. I do not feel this takes away from the romantic summer feel of the book and the author has really researched the topic and empathetic ally included it subtly into the story line just at the right moment. Something I feel the author has improved upon from the last book.

I have been in a reading depression not feeling able to get into any book for the past month. This book has brought me our of it and has given me my mojo back. I read it in 48 hours.

Cannot wait to read the next.

Clover Cottage by Christie Barlow is about Rory Scott, veterinarian, inherits ramshackle Clover Cottage in Heartcross, a quaint village. Allie MacDonald just knows this will be a place to call home. Rory has dreams of his own to follow - to live and work in Africa with the animals.

This is a light cozy that leaves you with a heartfelt feeling. Many delightful characters. A bit of romance included. All about pets an their vets. I definitely recommend it.

Thank you Net Galley for providing me with an advanced reader’s copy for review.

I greatly enjoyed this book, thank you for giving me a preview copy. The plot was interesting and fast paced and I sympathised with the characters. This is the first novel I have read by this author but I hope it will not be the last!

Another book in the Love Heart Lane series where we reunite with characters we know and love. This book focuses on Rory and Allie's relationship which has its up and downs. Rory would like to follow his dream of going to Africa and when given the chance to go and work with lions there, he jumps at the opportunity. Allie does not share his happiness and starts to think of her own future. Will there be a happy ending for them both?

Thank you to Netgalley, Christie Barlow, and Harper Collins UK for an advanced copy of this story in exchange for an honest review!!!!

I enjoyed this book, and it was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a story of finding love, and everything working out in the end, and, in a way, this is that.

Allie and Rory fins themselves having to make some decisions about their lives when a famous stranger comes to town and offers up some alternative paths. I’m scared to describe more of the story without giving spoilers lol.

This is a story of looking at your life, evaluating, and figuring out what you want. Missed and presented opportunities, communication with those around you, and the hard hits we sometimes take. While I enjoyed this story, I cannot sit here and rave about it. The characters are great, again a cast of misfits (which we all know I love), and there are some important life challenges presented and ways in which to deal with them.

In some ways, though, it all felt a bit shallow and lacking to me. Here is Rory sighing into what he really wants, but what about Allie? I feel the surface is scratched, but it’s not really explored. There are certain issues and topics I would have loved for the author to dive into further, but that was not the case.

I am thrilled to see more representation of the veterinary community, though! This is the second book I have read this year that has had a veterinarian in it (a story with a vet tech would be nice) and it is nice to see this field in stories!

The author does touch on anxiety a bit, which I think is great as it seems to be a growing issue in our society. I wish she had taken this path a teensy bit further than she had.

All in all, it was a fun read and enjoyable!

Rory and Allie have been together for 18 months and so when Rory's parents inherit Clover Cottage and gift it to them Allie is over the moon, ok it needs a lot of work but they can do that, so when Rory is less than happy about it she is devastated. Then the celebrity Zach appears in the village and talks about his next assignment in Africa working in lion conservation, a lifelong dream for vet Rory, will he leave everything behind and go with Zach and what will mean for Allie?

Great to be back in Love Heart Lane and catch up with the characters from the previous two books, and this again is a lovely story Allie and Rory are both good characters who need to work out what they really want from life, I really liked the village community feel of everyone looking out for each other and I especially loved Mop entering the dog show!

I have never read anything by this author, I have seen many people talking about Christie and her books so thought I should give them a try.

I can honestly say I have not been disappointed with this book, it draws you in with what seem a beautiful setting with a developing story with many twists and turns and many issues covered along the way.

Really hope there is a following on to see what happens with Allie and Rory and the new practice

A lovely book to read during a crazy time. A little slow in some parts but it is refreshing to read a romance story where no one is cheating and simply wants the best for her. I loved the small English village setting as well.

Clover Cottage is the third novel in the Love Heart Lane series, but I must make a confession - I haven't read Foxglove Farm. I can however confirm that Clover Cottage can be read as a standalone, although I will be going back to read Foxglove Farm as soon as I can! If you are new to Love Heart Lane series, and would like my views on Love Heart Lane, the first novel in the series, then check out my review on my blog.

Allie MacDonald is a very content woman. She has a job she enjoys, a hobby that she loves and a man she adores. When her boyfriend Rory inherits Clover Cottage, she feels that everything is finally falling into place. Whilst it might take them some time turning the cottage into their dream home, she feels secure that their future lies in the village of Heartcross.

Rory Scott is a local vet with big dreams. Dreams that specifically include Africa. He adores his girlfriend Allie, and he knows he's meant to be with her. But he can't shake off his need to experience more than their village of Heartcross is able to offer. When he unexpectedly inherits Clover Cottage, all he feels is an heavy burden, one that he does not know how to unload.

Allie and Rory are clearly made for each other. Their love and support for each is clear. However I could not help but feel for Allie, who is ready for their relationship to take the next step. Whilst Rory has not hidden from her the fact that he wanted to go to Africa after he finished university, he has not made it clear to her that this is a dream he still clings to.

I loved returning to Heartcross - it's an idyllic village full of good people. It was nice to revisit characters I have met before, and it was great to be able to learn more about both Allie and Rory. Both characters are pushed out of their comfort zone, and forced to look at what they want for themselves individually, and as a couple. I really did feel for Allie - I felt like she was blindsided by Rory's dreams, but equally I didn't think she had ever really spent enough time contemplating what she wanted for herself. Following their journey as individuals and as a couple was great - Christie Barlow really captures them both as well rounded, loving characters who are just trying to find their way in life.

This is such a lovely novel. I'm more than happy to recommend it as a standalone, or as a full series - in these turbulent times outside of books it may be the time to immerse yourself in a light-hearted series of novels to keep you occupied! So, introduce yourselves to the inhabitants of Love Heart Lane whilst you spend some time social distancing, hopefully with a glass of wine in hand!

To give this book it’s due it did improve in the last third. What did border on irritating was the reactive sulkiness of the female main character whenever something didn’t go her way. Plenty of action - maybe too much in such a short space of time but that maybe down to personal preference. An easy, cosy read that didn’t take me very long to read at all.

Thank you Netgalley.

So lovely to be back on Loveheart Lane for the third book in this series. Lots of familiar character popping up but this time the story focuses on local vet, Rory & his girlfriend, Allie. Rory & Allie are handed what seems like the perfect gift to help them on the next step in their relationship. However, Rory feels like he’s missed out on his dreams having come back to work with his Dad in the village veterinary practice as soon as he left university. Allie is devastated when she finds out Rory is intending on heading to Africa for a year at the very time she had envisaged moving in together, when she too is offered a wonderful opportunity that would mean she could make some of her own dreams come true. There are lots of ups & downs and misunderstandings in their relationship but a devastating discovery means that Rory & Allie’s plans are turned on their heads once again.
I was looking forward to reading this book & really enjoyed being back with familiar characters in such a beautiful setting. The story is really easy to read with some touching moments alongside some funny happenings, and gorgeous baby alpaca Mop makes a return. I don’t feel it was quite as good as the other two books, which is why I’ve dropped it one star, but it is still a really enjoyable book & if there happens to be more Loveheart Lane books I will definitely be waiting in line to read them.

I have really enjoyed this series, the characters are so warm and friendly, it's like stepping into a comfy soap.

This one seemed a little bit different, not sure how, but not as touching as previous ones.
The topic in the story was covered well and I am looking forward to seeing how it progresses.
I liked the new character, Zach, and am interested where he goes next in the series, along with Allie.

This is such a gorgeous book. I really loved it.

I’ve been a fan of this series from the start, and even though it was a while since I’d read the last one, I soon remembered who everyone was in this lovely little village.

This is such a page-turner of a book, there’s so much going on. Allie and Rory have some big decisions to make, and so many changes in their lives. But they’re a strong couple, with a great relationship.

Running through the book is the really important themes of both community and family, something which is so strong in Heartcross. There’s wonderful humour and fantastic characters.

All in all, a heartwarming and uplifting read, perfect to escape into. I really enjoyed it.

While this can be read as a standalone I do think reading the previous books would add something to the story. However it is a lovely cosy read with some eccentric characters, a wonderful community and sweet romance.
