It takes a lot of talent to be able to write a great romance, but it takes a creative genius to be able to add wit, banter, and a ton of humor and weave it all together! This was a fantastic read, and I can't wait for the next in the series!

Anyone But Rich is the first book in the Anyone But... series. Seven years ago, Kira made a promise with her two best friends to always avoid the King brothers, but now Rich is back in town and invading her life. With everything against them, but her heart screaming to give him a chance, is this couple doomed before they even begin?

Wow... this book was amazing! It has everything a good romantic comedy should have, and Kira and Rich stole my attention and love! Kira is small town, a humble teacher, has a mayor for a father, but tries to do as much as she can on her own merits. Rich is just that, rich from both old and new money, has terrible parents and hilarious brothers, has a huge sense of responsibility and is completely driven. I love that Kira and Rich are so different, but once they’re together, they fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. I love that Kira didn’t just forgive Rich right away, but called him out on his crap, just like he called her out on her little insecurities. They complimented each other really well once they could get past their past. I loved that this book didn’t flash back to their high school years (except the prologue) and just focused on the now - the trials, the triumphs, and the delightful tensions between them all! This book wasn’t over the top with steam, but there’s a lot of character development, connection building, and when the steam showed up, it was perfect and romantic, too! While I didn’t often laugh out loud at scenes in this book, I definitely found the humor! I also loved all of the side characters, they were completely fabulous, and I look forward to seeing how they might fit in with future books and relationships! I have a feeling this series is just going to be amazing!

Kira Summerland has every reason to hate Rich King. Now, that Rich King is back in town things don't go as planned for Kira. Kira's job as a high school teacher is keeping her pretty busy. Rich King showing up to apologize doesn't help either. Rich King had it all planned out yet nothing is going his way. Will Kira accept Rich King's apology? Will Kira admit her feelings for Rich? Will Rich get what he wants? Your answers await you in Anyone But Rich.

This new series by my favorite author Penelope Bloom has the right mix of heartache and laughter. Her characters are real, honest, raw, unique, complex, and complicated too. I can't wait to see what she does next in this series.

Penelope Bloom writes another fantastic book with Anyone But Rich! As a huge fan of Penelope Bloom, I was so excited to be able to read this new book in her new series about three friends from high school who make a pact to never date the King Brothers. These boys were picked to have it all in high school- the money, the good looks, and the best of everything including women. So of course when they left town after high school they thought they’d never hear from the King Brothers who broke each of their hearts. Until one day they realize that the big construction project that had been going on is to build the King Brother’s next big corporate building and now all three women are going to be facing their enemies. Rich King is the first one who is in this book and he knows the woman he wants to right his wrong with. He is wanting to make amends and doesn’t care about what others think. His parents don’t want him with a towny and they want him to be with a woman from a family that comes from money. But the woman he has been dating has her own secrets too and he has been helping her. There are so many twists and turns in this book. It’s funny, suspenseful and sexy. A must read!!

Quick, funny read

I go back and forth with whether I like the genre or not? There always seems to be so much consistent formula and theme to them. The things that make them different are the players and this one has some characters.

Kira is quite quirky (her hobbies alone?!?!). Still not sure exactly what drama took place in high school to create the present situation. It is highly glossed over.

The men are good, in that, they do paint a picture as three distinct characters. Rich is your typical “won’t take no for an answer, wear you down” type of guy. I admit it that I loved this character when I was younger and read things like Twilight but I’m over all that drama now. Cade was a trip. There is a bit of immaturity to these savvy businessmen but it made for fast and funny dialogue.

This is a quick read. It times it was quite amusing. I did feel the need to see it through and it was a nice break from the constant thrillers I have been reading. Will I continue in the series? Probably because the writing and dialogue elevated this one and I’m curious how the characters will evolve.

This was a first time read by Penelope Bloom and after reading the synopsis for the first book in her Anyone But… series, I was quite excited to snag a copy of Nothing But Rich.

I already love that the main characters, Rich and Kira, already had some history together. We get teased a little bit here and there that something big happened and ended in this 7 year pact with Kira and her friends. Being in a small town and having the alluring King brothers leave town, it was an easy promise to keep. Until they all return.

Once we learn the truth of what happened, it didn’t quite hit me like I expected it too. I kind of wanted to know more details and just all the emotions around it because Kira was doing some major loathing of Rich for several years. And I wanted to truly see all of that.

There were definitely some hilarious moments scattered throughout the book , but it had me questioning their maturity level more often than I’d like. And in the beginning, I wasn’t so sure about Kira’s friends. They weren’t exactly on my good side, but I am looking forward to their stories in the next couple of books.

I think I would have liked to see more happening throughout the book overall, it just didn’t seem like a whole lot was going on.

Overall, I did enjoy the book, I finished it in one sitting! Penelope writes with a different kind of humor than I’m used to, but I think I could come around to it. Definitely looking for the rest of this series.

4.5 Funny Stars

I giggled and laughed so much. Kira Summerland was a mix between sexy librarian, serious teacher and hot mess. Her klutziness was adorable and funny and something that totally turned Rich King on.

Rich King on the other hand...he was serious and sexy and determined to earn Kira’s forgiveness from what he did seven years ago. But Kira and her besties swore off the King brothers back then and now that they’re back in town and the more he’s around all those old high school crushes feels are coming back.

Now Kira has to deal with her besties against them along with others determined to keep her and Rich apart. But by gosh, they’re going to be together no matter what it takes.

This was my first Penelope Bloom novel and I absolutely LOVED it! I can’t wait to read Cade and Nick’s stories because those other two King brothers were characters that had me laughing just as much as Kira did. Those two were something else. I’m excited for their books to follow.

I found Kira, Iris, and Miranda firmly stuck in their high school dynamics, even though they have graduated and are working in their chosen professions, but I still enjoyed this story. The billionaire returns to his home town and meets up with the girl he left behind is a story that has been told before but with some great bantering (reminiscent of William Chamberson from the Objects of Attraction series) this story drags you in and keeps you turning pages. You'll love to hate the King parents in all their snobbery but love the King brothers who all turned out rather well if you consider their background (snobby parents, high school hearthrobs, rich kids on campus).

Grab a copy sit back, enjoy the laughter, and get ready for book #2!

Anyone But rRich is such a good read. Richard King and his family is coming back to their small hometown and not everyone is happy about it. Kira Sommerland and her two friend, Iris and Miranda are very, very unhappy about it. Seven years ago Rich did something to Kira and hurt her. These three girls made a pact to never be with a King brother again. That promise has been put into effect again. However, Rich wants to make things right with Kira, but Kira has her walls high up and tightly packed. Rich is willing to do what it takes to get her forgiveness. I was laughing through this book. Kira’s friends and Rich’s brothers has me laughing out loud. While there is laughter, there was also sadness and anger. Not everyone want Rich and Kira be together. There is deception, blackmail, suspense and some things happening that made me want to smack some characters upside their heads. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to read what would happen next. This story was great and I can’t wait to read Cade’s and Nick’s stories. I bet they will have me laughing again. Don’t miss out on this rom-com.

This is a great romantic comedy that will have you swooning and laughing. This is book 1 in a trilogy with each being a standalone. It’s a rollercoaster ride with all the highs and lows.

I didn’t not care for the heroine. She and her friends were childish for adults. She got on my nerves and I barely wanted to finish the book.
The hero was okay but since I couldn’t get past my dislike for the heroine I didn’t invest much in his character.

Isn't there a saying that goes "promises are made to be broken?" When Kira and her friends swear to NEVER, EVER date a King they meant it. But what happens when one comes swooping back into your life on a private jet? What happens when he appears in front of you all sexy and gorgeous? What happens when he whispers in your ear all of the sweet nothings you want to hear? But will his rude and conceited attitude help Kira to remain true to the promise made? Funny and actions packed with steamy sexiness.

Penelope Bloom is one of my go to authors when I'm looking for a fun read and she has managed again to entertain me thoroughly with Anyone But Rich.

The King brothers were nothing but trouble for Kira and get friends so they form a pact to never get involved with them again, but when Rich and his brothers return to their home town Rich has no intentions of allowing Out a to keep her word, but can he convince her that he is sorry for destroying her in the past and prove to her that he wants to be her future?

The King Brothers were an unstoppable force in High School. Kira, Miranda and Iris have been best friends for years but the King Brothers almost ended their friendship, so a promise was made, none of them would have anything to do with the brothers again. Seven years later the brothers are bringing their billion dollar empire back to their hometown and the girls agree to stick to the promise made so long ago. Rich knows that he hurt Kira back in high school and he figures he just needs to apologize and that will let his guilt go, but Kira doesn’t want his apology, she wants nothing to do with him. What starts as Rich’s determination to get Kira’s forgiveness soon turns to just getting Kira because the more he sees her and gets to know her the more he wants her. There are so many obstacles in the way including a fake girlfriend, meddling parents and the promise. Rich’s brothers Nick and Cade were completely lovable as were Miranda and Iris and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

3.5 Stars

Now I had to wonder what was going to happen when the Kings came storming into West Valley like horsemen of the apocalypse—except these horsemen didn’t bring plague and pestilence. They brought ladyboners, bad decisions, and enough money to make my head spin.

Back in high school, Kira and her two childhood besties, Miranda and Iris, made a pact they promised to keep for life. Never, under any circumstances, fall for a King Brother. Forget the over the top good looks or seemingly endless supply of money, those boys are not to be trusted.

Fast forward seven years and the King brothers are back in town, newly minted billionaires ready to make amends to the three girls they wronged all those years ago. (view spoiler)Iris and Miranda are no where near ready to listen, but as soon as Kira spots Rich again, she starts to get that special tingle in her lady parts and all thoughts of resisting pretty much get thrown out the window.

To be honest, this book felt like an outline of an actual story but with the dialogue and witty banter fully fleshed out. I had a great time reading it (Cade alone is worth the time it takes to finish this) but I never found myself emotionally invested in the story. I DEFINITELY needed more explanation as to why Iris, Kira and Miranda all thought the King brothers were scum of the earth. These ladies were willing to throw a friendship away at one point, so it had to be major. And the fact I still don’t really know why doesn’t sit well.

Bottom line, if you’re looking for something to make you laugh for a few hours, Anyone but Rich is your book. If you’re looking for a story that brings all the feels, maybe pass this one over and keep looking.

Kira and her friends made a promise to each other 7 years ago to have nothing to do with the King brothers, after they humiliated Kira and she lost her scholarship.

Rich and his brothers have become self made billionaires and decide to move back to their home town to set up a branch of their company there. Rich has another reason to go back, to apologise to Kira and get her to forgive him and hopefully more!

Kira is not the girl he left behind and the now school teacher will not take his apology easily! Rich is also dating Stella, but that relationship isn’t what it seems! Rich tries lots of things to get Kira’s attention and forgiveness and she is slowly letting him in.

The problem is, the pact she made with her friends still stand, the parents are against anything happening between them and love is never easy! Can they get through all the problems or is love just too hard!

Kira and her friends make a pact to never date a King brother, but now their back in town and sexy as ever. Rich is looking for Kira’s forgiveness. Will she forgive him? Fast-paced, fun read with steamy chemistry, great characters and an entertaining story, that has plenty of drama and steam. I loved it!

I thought that this was a very enjoyable read and an excellent start to this new series. There is plenty of humor, witty banter and sparks flying as Kira and Rich's story unfolds. I thought that the quirky storyline just the right amount of tension, heat, emotional turmoil, drama and sweetness to capture and keep your attention. A very fun read about the struggle that can happen between your heart and your head. I eagerly look forward to future enteries in this series.
