This is the second book I have recently read by this author, Teresa Driscoll and like the first, "The Friend" I could not put It down until I'd finished it. Once again I found myself reading in the middle of the night.
In "I will make you pay", the author deals first hand with the subject of stalking with courage and great insight. I also liked the sub-story between the P.I. and police and it's link in both books.

The plot progressed nicely - a mix of flashbacks and the present. At around 80% I had figured out the why, but not the who. The book was decently written (stalker books freak me out) yet I wasn't overly impressed. It was an okay read.

The author does a wonderful job of making you experience the terror of a woman being stalked. The sense of paranoia and fear are real. While there are characters from earlier books, this one works well as a standalone. Told from the viewpoint of three characters, you will travel back and forth as you learn the background story. This is a book you will have trouble putting down once you start reading it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

This was a phenomenal read. The idea of a new terror each week that you knew was coming but didn’t know what would be the result…chilling. Well written. Definitely worth reading!

Once again I will make you pay is another amazing book from Teresa Driscoll, this is a intense and chilling story that i really enjoyed. I stayed up through the night reading this and i got chills reading in the dark. A psychological thriller that draws you in, makes you think you know what is going to happen then you've got it all wrong, i love that feeling in books that i read. It was intense and scary, always had me guessing and wondering. Would recommend 5*

This is a well-written psychological mystery with an eerie stalker subplot and I have enjoyed every page! OK, some might complain that the identity of the perpetrator was actually veiled for too long and in the light for only a few moments - and yes, there is some truth to that. But I like the smart twist included with the perp's identity!
The motives of all the characters are well explained and I find them both smart and believable.
MS Driscoll may need to work on her mastery, but I certainly see the talent here - the kind of talent who can bring the modern time angle, yet still stay faithful to the old good tradition of well explained mystery. Good read!

Told from multiple perspectives and going back and forth in time, this was one crazy ride! I don’t have any problem with Wednesday’s, but I might now! Imagine having a threat hanging over you that you know will come ONLY on Wednesday’s. Crazy!
Alice, the one being threatened, has no clue what she has done or who she has offended somehow. As a journalist, it’s not too surprising, but all her stuff seems to have been well received. Alice is at a loss. The police are at a loss. So her boyfriend insists on hiring a private investigator, Matthew.
After Matthew realizes he’s not getting the full story from Alice regarding her past, well he’s less than happy.
Somehow Ms. Driscoll manages to tie many storylines together and keep the stalker a secret until the end. At least, I didn’t have this one figured out! 4.5 ⭐️‘s

This was one i should have read when i first received it because it ended up being so crazy and so good, very well written and kept me on my toes the entire time I was reading it. so many different aspect of this book that i liked, especially that almost everyone had some sort of secret. All of the big reveals came in the last part of the book and it was so surprising to see who it was and why, plus closure as well. Will definetly read more books from this author!

Excellently written but predictable. I Will Make You Pay is a decent mystery novel with plenty of twists and turns but the payoff just isn't there.

This is a well done thriller that slowly ramps up the tension felt by a woman who is being stalked. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC.

Story line was pretty trite and the characters lacked any depth. There are much better entries in the "British Girls in Trouble" genre.

I never figured out the mystery so I suppose that's good but all the directions the book took to try to convince me it was someone else were too much. I found a lot of the book boring and ended up skimming some pages just to see if something happened. It didn't. None of the characters were interesting to me either so overall, the book was just meh. Not for me.

This book was creepy but predictable. The writing was good, however, it seems like I've read books like this a million times in the past. I crave originality.

I was excited to read this, but struggled through it. I loved the intensity at the beginning, the middle lulled a bit, and then it got better at the end. It was suspenseful and well- written and I would read another book by Teresa Driscoll.

Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A classic of the creepy whodunit genre using a well oiled formula … girl with a past gets stalked by mystery man.
The writing is light and enjoyable. The characters are well developed.
The tale is told from three principal POV : Alice, ‘Alice before’, ‘Him before’.

There is an almost immediate understanding that the perpetrator is someone close to Alice. The choices are few and the author steadily drops enough clues to quickly figure out the scheme. The mystery of the ‘why’ remains until the end of the book as it is a little stretched.
It’s an ok book, no big reveal for me. From the author pen endless ‘It’s ok Alice. It will be alright Alice”

This book feels like it was written for a movie. It would probably make a decent movie but as a book …. meh

Thank you to Teresa Driscoll and to Amazon Publishing for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I will make you pay
By Teresa Driscoll

Journalist Alice Henderson is being stalked but who could it be? Her former fiancé, the good looking musician is the main suspect, but why would he do it? He was recently released from prison in which he was charged with having sex with his underage piano students. Alice was blind to his antics except for one time where he seemed overly intimate on the phone with one of his students. Could that be why? She told the police about it. Could it be her co-worker who happens to be around when someone happens to Alice?

Why is it just Wednesdays? What is the significance?

Who is the little boy living with his gram who let the mean neighbor in and later took advantage of him and lured him with treats and candy? Then told the boy that if he ever told, he would kill his gram?

This story was definitely an interesting read for me. Teresa has a way with those twists and turns that keep you on your seat. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to others. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

This story had me hooked from the off. Constantly kept me guessing then second guessing myself and I love that in a thriller. Lots of twists along the way that threw me off the scent of the killer. I really enjoyed this one and will look into more books by this author

This was an interesting thriller, Alice is a journalist with a past who gets a call on a Wednesday that she tries to write off as a hoax. But it's not, she is being targeted, and every Wednesday the threats escalate. Her bf hires a PI to protect her, but it's not helping to find out who is behind this. Tension escalates. This is where the story is at its best. However there were several subplots going on that distracted from this, and therefore it was hard for me to be vested in the overall story. I did not figure out who the stalker was ahead of time but by the time we got there I wasn't really interested anymore. Huge potential that fell a little flat for me.
