Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are of my own and are unbiased. 5 shinny stars, well earned. This is exactly what I like: nice flow, building of suspense which keeps its reader guessing. Very well developed characters. Another one I finished in the first sitting. 👏 |
Every Wednesday, a mysterious caller terrorizes and taunts journalist Alice Henderson with cruel threats. At first she believes it to be a hoax against the newspaper until the threats continue weekly, every Wednesday, and they escalate. Alice is well liked in her community and fights for a local housing complex to be replaced/upgraded into a livable place. She can't figure out why someone would want to harm her, but threats soon include her family and panic sets it. Can Alice uncover the reason for the threats before she comes face to face with an unthinkable reality? This was a great book that pulled me in from the start! It was a quick read filled with unexpected twists. The story is told from several points of view and told over the past and present. I enjoyed it very much! Thanks to Teresa Driscoll, Amazon Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC. |
This was a twisted thriller that will keep you guessing! I enjoyed the way the story was told to keep the suspense building. Something happens one Wednesday to journalist Alice. And then something else. It starts to become a pattern on Wednesdays. Alice is scared but angry this is affecting her life and those around her. They have some ideas who is behind everything but things begin to escalate as time goes on. Her boyfriend hires a private detective to help keep Alice safe and to help investigate the case since the police haven’t figured it out yet. At the same time we get glimpses of why someone is targeting Alice as we learn their story in chapters throughout the book. |
This is the first book I’ve read by the author. It’s amazing! I like the characters and the guessing who the stalker is. It takes you one way and you think you know the answer then boom another twist! Totally recommend and a strong 5/5. Will be buying her other books. Perfect lockdown company! |
I was totally hooked from the first page to the last, a fantastic thriller, gritty and exciting, 5 very well earned stars |
Teresa Driscoll is great. This book had me hooked and I can't wait to read more from this author soon! Easy to read and lots of twists |
This author was a journalist for twenty five years, so let’s just say she knows her stuff. And boy her book does not disappoint! It’s a great thriller mystery! Thanks to Netgalley, the author and publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. |
Great story with dark twists and turns. Great writing style. Enjoyed the characters and the story setting. |
When every Wednesday, like clockwork; you are scared for your life... Alice Henderson is a journalist who’s life is turned upside down by ever increasing, weekly threats but has no idea why. A gripping psychological thriller that kept me guessing till the end. |
Dark, creepy, and absolutely riveting! Alice is an investigative journalist who wants desperately to solve the mystery of who is trying terrorizing her on Wednesdays and why. She is the perfect victim...everything about her makes you like her and want to protect her from the person who is out to frighten her or worse. I loved how this story went back and forth in time for the villain, giving us little glimpses into the abuse that led to madness and turned him in to the twisted monster he became. I had my suspicions about who the culprit was, and boy was I way off base! A very good thriller! |

A page turning, fast-paced thriller. Teresa Driscoll has delivered another sensational, suspenseful novel. The tension in the writing and the character depiction is perfect... and you lurch from one suspect to another.. with a totally unexpected finale So many twists and turns, it made it difficult to put down. A must-read for all. I apologize for my tardy review, since I forgot to post my review, when I finished reading. I want to thank Net Galley for the advance copy. |

Thank you to Amazon Publishing UK and NetGalley for my ARC for an honest review. Who doesn't love a good mystery and I looked forward to another novel by Teresa Driscoll. There were three different POV's in this book and I found that one of them, the detective's, was not really crucial to the story line, with a vary strange subplot about a very odd man he was interacting with and found it to just be unnecessary. It was a good "who done it" and since I am sheltering in place due to COVID-19, it was a good way to spend a day reading! |

I real page turner. I wasn’t too sure of this book when I started. I persevered and so glad I did. Alice has a stalker and he’s escalating. Who can she trust? |
"It seems like an ordinary Wednesday, until the phone rings. A mysterious caller with a chilling threat. Journalist Alice Henderson hangs up, ready to dismiss it as a hoax against the newspaper. But the next Wednesday, the stalker makes another move and it becomes clear that this is all about Alice." The story alternates between the present in the past. The book has lots of twists and turns which had me guessing who the stalker was until the bitter end. I definitely recommend this book to thriller lovers. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy for an unbiased review. |

What is "special" about Wednesdays? And I don't mean special in a good way. Each Wednesday brought another warning to Alice Henderson. Each Wednesday the warning escalated. Who was tormenting her? What did they want? I HAD to read the book to find out and so do you! |

Gripping from the first page. You read waiting for the next Wednesday to find out what will happen each week. Worth reading if you like suspense and dramatic events. |
Wow! This books grabs you and will not let go!! I could not put this book down!! It is so fast paced, has you guessing until the very end and is a rollercoaster of a ride. I cannot praise this enough! It starts on a Wednesday and then continues every Wednesday...Alice's nightmare that is. Alice is a journalist for a local paper when she receives a very unsettling and upsetting phone call and from that point onwards her life is changed. There are so many twists in this book and I was literally suspecting everyone by the end. Although I guessed the reason early on I didn't guess who it was which was great! Will most definitely be looking at reading more books by Teresa. Would highly recommend to everyone to read this book. It's fab! |

A fantastic psychological thriller!! Driscoll leads the reader through a great story in which any of the male characters could be the stalker and unveiling at the end - the least suspected!!! |
