Alice a journalist is sent a threatening note that she will be cut by a cheese wire, but this is not the first note she has received and strangely it always occurs on a Wednesday. After several more threats, her husband Tom employs Matthew a private investigator to keep her safe and discover who the culprit is.

Mathew discovers that Alice is keeping her own secrets, is the stalker something to do with her past or has she upset someone regarding an article she has written.

The story alternates between the present time and the past. In the past we are introduced to a small boy living with his gran,he loves his gran and hates the fact that she has to leave him on his own one night a week, so that she can work in a care home. These chapters kept me engrossed and guessing what happened to this little chap!!

This is a very gripping book with plenty of twists and red herrings along the way. I constantly changed my mind who the stalker was.

Beautifully written with a mixture of suspense and a heart wrenching story of love for a mother who does not have much time left. When Alice describes the love she feels for her mother I could not help but tear up, at the strong bond between them.

Wow an intense thriller that kept me gripped right from page one until the last! Alice is being stalked and hasn't a clue by who and why, it always happens on a Wednesday. As a back story someone tells their story of why they hate Wednesdays, the two are tied together but how and why. Matthew is a private investigator trying to help Alice along with Mel the detective. 
Can they find out who is stalking Alice before it's too late!!

This is what all other psychological thrillers aspire to be. Teresa Driscoll, you had me at “cheese wire”. Every moment of the novel held this mesmerizing tension that was only abated by the pretense that the plot would reach its pinnacle sooner than later. It was fast paced, creepy, and magnificent. A must read! 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. Alice is taunted by a stalker who becomes more threatening and closer with each passing week but Alice has a secret of her own....... This story was well written and kept me reading eager to find out who the stalker was. As with all good mysteries there is somewhat of a plot twist and the perp is closer to her than she could ever imagine. A+

I'm a big fan of Teresa Driscoll and always look forward for her new books, and this one is no exception.
This is a gripping psychological mystery thriller with a twisty plot and a great unpredictable ending.

Alice Henderson is a successful journalist, on an ordinary Wednesday she receives an anonymous chilling phone call threatening her. At first she dismisses the whole thing as a nasty prank, but each Wednesday the phone calls keep coming and the threats escalates targeting not only Alice but her family as well.

The police are unable to find a lead, and Alice's boyfriend insists they hire a private investigator. From there it's a race against the clock to find the stalker and discover his/her motivations, and what a ride that was.

I blew through this novel and had a hard time putting it down! The author builds a real sense of dread as we follow our protagonist through her ordeal, when each Wednesday something menacing would occur to frighten her from an unknown stalker. As the weeks go by the incidents become more dangerous, and I honestly was quite surprised when it is finally revealed who was looking for revenge. I did not see that coming! I enjoyed this book. Nothing super ground-breaking here, but it was a fast-paced thriller with interesting characters that kept me entertained. A large part of the story centers on the relationship between mother and daughter and the bond of love, which was a great counterpoint to the horror our gal is experiencing. I wished the villain's backstory had been fleshed out just a bit more, but overall I recommend this read and will definitely be checking out this author's other novels.

This book was very well written. Nice and easy to read and flowed well. Had me on the edge of my seat. Wondering which way it was going to go. Great mystery can’t beat it.

Loved reading this book, I usually know by the first page if I am going to enjoy and finish it and that I did within a couple of days. Without letting too much information away, I loved the plot and the characters, I have already googled Teresa Driscoll so I can read everything else she has written.  Thrilling, from start to finish.

What a great thriller. Couldn't put it down once I started. I'll definitely being reading more from this author. This book was so good that I didn't know what was going to happen next. You think you know, but you're wrong. Great book.

This is a really well written novel that draws you in from the first page. Told form different perspectives, it helps tell the story, which is a solid read.

Alice takes a chilling phone call one Wednesday and it quickly becomes apparent that she has the unwanted attention of someone. 
I loved the way the story was told from different perspectives and kept me hooked and intrigued throighout. My first Theresa Driscoll book but it will not be my last. Thank you to netgalley for the pre-release copy.

From the very get go, I was hooked!! I am fan of Teresa Driscol, havibg read her previous titles, I am watching you, The friend, and The promise. I absolutely love the way she brings the main characters Matt & Sally and DI Saunders from previous books. I'm beginning to feel like I almost know them.
This new title will have you guessing the whole way through and I found that I became suspicious of a few characters as the story unfolded.
Read this title in two days.

The book had a fast pace and definite thrill to it.
The Author with out a doubt made you feel the protagonists emotions throughout the book.
I thought I had the ending figured out but as I read more I changed my mind only to be surprised in 
the end that I had it right all along!
This was my second book read by this author and won't be my last!

There are some books that give you that Goldilocks feeling of being ‘just right’ and this was exactly that for me. Matthew Hill is a really great character and I feel like everyone needs a friend like him. Having a stalker is a horrid enough concept but to have him only active  on Wednesdays did seem to add to the tension. There was a particular scene involving a motorcycle that will definitely stick in my mind. Highly recommended

I Will Make You Pay is a great thriller that has some good twists. The writing is good and the characters are well developed.

I received an advanced copy of “I Will Make You Pay” by Teresa Driscoll. I do love a good psychological thriller, and this one is just that. 

Ok, this novel creeped me out slightly when I first began reading- nothing like answering a phone call and receiving a good graphic death threat. Alice is our victim. She tries so hard to be a strong independent journalist, and now this call is making it difficult to do so. Thankfully she has her boyfriend Tom there to protect her. 
But, it’s not that simple. There are secrets in this novel, secrets that can save and secrets that can kill. 
This book is written in one of my favourite formats, one with a variety of points of view. Chapters labelled “Alice”( our protagonist), “Matthew” (an ex-policeman hired bodyguard) and “Him” (our villain). These chapters successfully weave together to build suspense and create our story. I appreciate chapters written from the villain’s point of view because it makes his motivation for violence more believable. 
I found Alice a bit annoying and scattered. I didn’t feel she gave any of her decisions any forethought and I wanted to reach into the novel and shake her on occasion.
This was the perfect holiday read, not too deep and wonderfully engaging with just the right amount of suspense. 
“I Will Make You Pay” is my first Teresa Driscoll novel. I have Googled her other novels and will most definitely be reading her again.

One word: wow! This latest book from Teresa Driscoll weaves a fascinating plot with an emotional depth that leaves you gasping. What begins as a story about journalist Alice Henderson, morphs into a gripping, disturbing and fascinating tale, not just about who is calling her at work through voice change software to distort his voice but about Alice herself. I kept asking myself if this stalker was someone who didn’t warm to a story she wrote. Or is it someone she might have mistakenly overlooked in her past.

Alices changes all her social media passwords and makes an appointment with a security company to check her flat. Statements have been taken not only at work but also with the local coffee shop — a place she regularly frequents. Driscoll ratchets up the tension here and you can’t help wondering if Alice will be snatched away in broad daylight. You’d think Alice has done everything she can to protect herself, but is there something she might have missed? A small loophole perhaps that this ardent stalker will cleverly slip through. And what is the significance of Wednesday?

Tom, Alice’s boyfriend hires a private investigator called Matthew Hill to cover Alice. But Matthew does a little investigation of his own and realizes there is more to Alice than meets the eye. Chapters alternate between past and present, and the “Him-before” chapters are both disturbing and heartbreaking. A little boy - we don’t know who at this stage - who loves his gran, Martha. Martha’s struggles are all too real and her grandson whom she calls ‘My beloved little soldier’ witnesses her suffering through his time. She tells him she will never move from her home because of the bench and the memories that go with it. 

Driscoll demonstrates over and over again that she has what it takes to shock, surprise and move her readers. I couldn’t help empathizing with a child left on his own and a caregiver strained to the limits to carve out a life for herself and the boy. I couldn’t help wondering what would happen to Brian. Will this child, who has suffered so much, eventually play out his ‘delicious dreams’ in order to feel alive? These chapters sucked me in so completely, I forgot to drink the pot of coffee I’d made in the morning! 

Alice, her campaign, the housing block and the local paper, all come full circle in a frightening denouement I didn’t see coming. All I can say is Driscoll teases out this twisty plot at the perfect pace, introducing multi-layered characters that even the sharpest readers won’t predict what’s coming.

I haven't read other books by this author, and am happy to report this is easily read as a stand alone! Lots of suspense, and the characters are believable and interesting. I didnt predict the ending, and enjoyed staying up to finish this book!

Teresa Driscoll keeps bringing out amazing books and this is just another one to add to the collection. Full of twist and turns. This will have you guessing right until the end.
