Well, book 2 in the Getting Lucky series by Meghan Quinn features the second eldest knightly brother, Rogan, and I think I’ve found my favourite brother. He is just wonderful, all sultry and sexy, whilst been sappy and loving. Admittedly, he is a jerk in the beginning, but when everything comes to light, I understood where he was coming from, I’m not saying he did the right thing, but, we all make mistakes This is a super addictive second chance romance, some scenes are emotional, a lot of scenes are funny, proper laugh out load moments with the sibling banter, in person and by text. So so funny. A wonderful story written so so well. Great characters. I just adore all the townsfolk. The town gossip is rife, and I do love small town stories. I can’t wait to see what book 3 brings us. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I loved, loved, loved this book! Out of all the Meghan Quinn books I have read, this one was absolutely phenomenal. I had butterflies and chills at 13%. You will definitely fall in love with Rogan from the very beginning. This book does go back and forth between the past and present, but it is vital to the unfolding of this love story. Quinn has you riding a rollercoaster of emotions as you are reading.

That Forever Girl is definitely a Top 10 read for me!

I was supplied an advanced reader copy of this novel by NetGalley and voluntarily submit this review.

Second chance romances are not in my top 5 favorite games in novels. That being said, Rogan melted my heart in this book. I loved that his walls against Harper were paper thin. Once he realized that he really needed her back (and wanted to take that chance) he was all in. 100%.

That Forever Girl is the second book in the Getting Lucky series about four brothers who after being cursed whilst in New Orleans that they will never find true love. It can be read as a standalone but Griffins story was really good.
Here we have Griffins younger brother Rogan’s story. From childhood Rogan and Harper had been a couple and had their future mapped out together. After a terrible accident whilst in college Rogan becomes embittered and twisted and breaks Harper’s heart. She moves away and Rogan realised he’s lost the love of his life, pouring everything into his work with no interest in forming any relationships.
When Harper returns to the town for good he is determined to win Harper back but she is scared stiff after the heartbreak he caused.
This is a lovely story, full of emotion, with a cast of great characters, these brothers have brilliant banter between themselves and some very funny moments. It’s a tortured journey these two travel but what a ride we have with them.
A really engrossing, thorough enjoyable, I can’t wait for the next.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

Well I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Rogan! I loved how rough and standoffish Rogan comes across and then to see that his is just an amazing, heart of gold guy. Now that Rogan's first and only love is back in town he is grouchy than ever. Being a successful businessman, Rogan is on top of the real estate marker in Port Snow. Guess who Harper must deal with in her new job, a very angry Rogan.

Harper was devastated when Rogan broke her heart in college and pushed her away. She was completely lost and wandered around the East Coast for seven long years searching for herself. Which brings her right back home to the safety of Port Snow. Not that being around Rogan is safe at all, this guys has it out for her. Rogan does NOT want Harper home, in his town, stirring up feelings that were never in the past but making Rogan face head on what he has tried to hide for 7 long years.

I felt this was a super emotional read that completely captivated me with each word. These two are made for one another and their love story was EPIC!

Thanks NetGalley and Montlake Romance for the ARC.

This didn't work for me.
The banter between the brothers is good even funny at times.
The curse situation, maybe it's just me but I didn't get it, they are letting it rule their lives. It was a bit ridiculous.
Dual POV.
Flashback alternative chapters.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
No cheating.
No other woman/man drama except an experience related from the past.
The Hero broke up with the heroine, there is a lot involved but basically although they were engaged he completely cuts her off.
The situation is extreme but he is very cruel.
When they meet back up he is continually cruel to her, rude in front of others until around 50% of the book.
He makes it clear he doesn't want her back in town, publicly, and even when she begs him to stop, crying he still carries on.
He says it's because he loves her but they can't be together but I found him very dislikeable.
The heroine says“Don’t make this harder than it already is. I know this must be fun for you, acting like we’re great friends, but this hurts for me. So let’s just be cordial and get through these next few weeks, okay?”
When I read the blurb I thought the book would be about getting her back but it's pushing away then trying to get her back after around 55% mark, it wasn't soon enough for me.
I found some of the banter between the Hero and heroine childish later on.
There are references to the couple in book 1 and other characters are developed for future books.

HEA. If you trust him. I really didn't like it.

This is Harper and Rogan book, it’s book two in the getting lucky series. Harper returns to her small town of Port snow Maine , for good! She’s running from a past she wants to forget! But she has another past in her home town that she wishes her mind and heart could forget! She was engaged to her childhood sweetheart until a terrible accident tore them apart! Now she has to face her childhood best friend/ fiancé and try not to loose her heart all over again! Rogan and his brothers think they’re cursed, actually his whole home town believes it too! Now his ex fiancé is back in town , he had pushed her away after a freak accident. Rogan can’t fight the growing attraction to the woman he has loved his whole life! He’s also hoping to put this curse to rest and see if he can win back her heart! This book was very good! I think I liked the first book a little better but this one was still really really good!! I definitely recommend reading this book and the first in the series although they can be standalone but they are well worth the read! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!

That Forever Girl by Meghan Quinn is number two in the series Getting Lucky.
In the first book, That Second Chance, you follow the story of Griffin Knightly, and this second book is about his younger brother, Rogan. There are two more brothers in the family so a qualified guess is that it will be two more books about them.

Rogan and Harper were high school sweethearts and went to college together, where they also got engaged. Rogan was on his way to play pro football but an accident put a stop to that. He became bitter and broke up with Harper.
Seven years later, neither of them have been able to move forward since they still love each other. Suddenly they're both in the small town where they grew up together and have to try to live in it...

If you like a steamy romance and don't mind some cursing, this is a perfect, romantic story for you. .

Thanks to the publisher and @netgalley for my free copy in exchange for a honest review.

That Forever Girl is the second book in the Getting Lucky Series and it follows the story of Rogan and Harper. Once upon a time, Rogan and Harper had that once in a lifetime, life altering love. They had their who lives ahead of them and nothing could tear these two lovebirds apart. That is until tragedy strikes. All it takes is one moment. One painful moment for everything Harper and Rogan wanted to be ripped apart and turned upside down. It will be years before Harper returns to Port Snow and when she does, her return awakens something buried deep within Rogan. Try as he might, he can't stop thinking of Harper. He's not the same man that Harper once knew. Despite their painful past, a love like theirs refuses to be extinguished. Will Harper and Rogan grab on to the second chance life has presented them?? There's only one way to find out....

That Forever Girl is the kind of story that just grabs you from the very first page. It's got all of my favorite troupes mixed into one heartbreaking story. We've got high school sweethearts whose future was ripped out from beneath them. Who are now shells of whom they once were. They take enemies to lovers to the next level. And when you add in the perfect small town, you've got a second chance romance that is guaranteed to put your heart through the paces. Yes, That Forever Girl has it all. It's got drama and angst. There's heartache and romance. There are extremely frustrating characters.  That's right, Rogan, I'm talking about you!!! In all seriousness, Rogan drove me completely and totally batty. He claimed to still be madly in love with Harper, yet he couldn't stop being a jerk to her. And I mean, he was a total jerk. Never have I ever wanted to reach inside my kindle and slap a fictional character the way that I wanted to with Rogan. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't stop messing up. It was like the second he opened his mouth, he stuck his foot in it. I honestly never thought he was going to be able to redeem himself. But, I am happy to report that Rogan totally does. When you get to the heart of his story, you can better understand his actions. I didn't agree with his actions, but I understood them.

One of things I really enjoyed about this story was the pull between Rogan and Harper. No matter how much Rogan messed up, that pull was still there. It was tangible and undeniable. I loved the banter between Rogan and Harper and really enjoyed their interactions. I loved that Harper made Rogan sweat it a bit. She didn't just give in and forgive him. She made him work for his second chance and it was a totally satisfying thing to experience.

Overall, I thought this book was a terrific read. I loved getting lost in the characters and their story. And I think it was a perfect addition to the Getting Lucky Series.

I enjoyed this story and hearing more about the characters from the first book as well. I think the slow burn was appropriate given how much history these characters had, but I wonder if having the book in chronological order might have been easier to follow instead of bouncing around time periods.
