Another lovely Reagandoodle book on the topic of adoption.

Reagandoodle, the family dog, explains to “Little Buddy”, who is being adopted, what it means to be part of a family.

Every page contains a gorgeous watercolor illustration and a few sentences in simple and beautiful language. I love how Swiridoff and Dunham’s books always focus on the positive, on being chosen and loved (instead of abandoned and unwanted).

I thought the story was cute. However, I was disappointed in the design and illustration. The cover will not grab anyone's attention. As an adoptive mother myself, I really look for quality in the texts I choose about adoption. This book would not make my cut. I want to put adoption books in front of my children that resemble them and their journeys. Unfortunately, this one just wasn't designed well.

A lovely illustrated book with detailed pictures. Nice and loving vibes from them while it tells a tale of a little boy and his dog being adopted into a family.

It’s such a positive book that a parent can use to open up a conversation with the adopted child.

As an adoptive mom I am always interested in reading picture books about adoption. I think they are a great way to talk about adoption with your kids. What I liked the most about this book is that the story is told from a dog's perspective. Reagandoodle, the dog, is telling his friend, Little Buddy (a boy who was just adopted), about what adoption means. The storyline is very simplistic, just saying nice things about family and love. The illustrations are sweet and nice to look at, plus any animal loving kid will enjoy seeing the dog and his human friend interacting. I also liked how at the end they included pictures of the real Reagandoodle and Little Buddy.

I did have a couple things I didn't love about the book, and I think it's important to inform other adoptive parents in case it would bother them. There is no talk about the birthparents in this book at all. I usually don't like leaving out the birthparents, since they are part of the adoption story, even if they won't be an active part of their lives now. It didn't bother me as much in this book because the dog was laying out what adoption means moving forward, but it's worth noting. Also, there was one part of the story that I didn't like. At one point Reagandoodle mentions that adoption means no longer being alone. Even if a child is in foster care or waiting for their adoption, they aren't alone, they have someone caring for them. I wouldn't want to put it in my child's mind that they were all alone before joining our family.

Overall, I did like the book and I think my kids would really enjoy reading it.

This book contains such a true and precious adoption story, where a little boy and his dog are both adopted into the same loving family. This little boy and his canine companion are completely adorable, shown in friendly illustrations throughout this book and in real life photos in the back of the book. This story displays the importance of adoption, all of the reasons why every child needs a loving family in their life, and the ways in which a dog can be a child’s best friend and help ease a child into their new life with their adopted family.

I highly recommend reading this lovely book to young children who have been adopted, especially if they’ve been adopted recently.

I love this series of books on adoption. Did you know God adopted us in the family of God. You are chosen when your spirit is pulled to the Spirit of God. Children need to be loved well and this book speaks to loving a child well. Buddy and Reagandoodle have so many adventures that are filled with the joy of love, acceptance, and what adoption really means. It speaks on what family means as we all need to be accepted and loved.

Any child will be blessed to read this book adopted or not as we all are adopted in the family of God.

What a good book to help children understand about forever families when they go to a forever a mummy and daddy this helps children. Great illustrations too very colorful and loads of good illustrations and sentences about what happens when children get adopted. This is well written with beautiful and in depth illustrations. I throughly enjoyed this book and if I could I would give more than 5 stars. I highly recommend this books to others.

This was a lovely tale about adoption told by both a young boy and his dog.

I thought that the images and the way the story was written were lovely and it is a must for anyone going through the same thing, it gives positives where there will be doubt due to the unknown and shows the benefits of being able to join a loving, and how lucky they are as sadly not everyone has this privilege - 4 stars from me

Reagandoodle and Little Buddy Find a Forever Family by Sandi Swiridoff and Wendy Dunham is a cute little book that explains what happens when you get adopted (as a dog or as a child). Reagandoodle tells Little Buddy about all the amazing things that happen when you are chosen by God to complete the family that you join. The book is accompanied by cute illustrations as well.

Reagandoodle and Little Buddy are a small boy and dog pair. The little boy is being adopted so the puppy explains how amazing it is to be adopted since he also found his forever home.

This is a lovely story told from a rescue dog's perspective about what a family means to someone who is about to be adopted. The examples used to show the little boy how special it is to be adopted by new parents are incredibly sweet and honest. They discuss new traditions and celebrations and emphasize the fact that he was chosen to be loved in the deepest way by people who picked him out of everyone. The illustrations were beautiful as well to go along with the wonderful storyline.

Any child who has been adopted would benefit from this story that is deeply rooted in the precious truth that they were chosen to be loved.

Reagandoodle and Little Buddy find a forever family is a sweet story of adoption and what it means to be a part of a family. I love how this books focuses on the big and small things that happen when you have a forever family. The relationship between Reagandoodle and Little Buddy is a great way to teach this to young children. This would be a great book for foster/adoption agencies to give to children that are being adopted. As an adoptive mother, I would have loved to have this book when my children were younger.

I chose to read this book early to review it because I was concerned seeing a book about adopting an animal and a child. As an adoptive mom, I cringed. People have compared adopting my sons to adopting their animals before and something about it doesn’t sit right with me. Imagine my surprise when I loved this book! This is not truly about comparing the two, instead it is about a dog helping a boy understanding how amazing adoption is and what it means. It also helps that it is based on a true set of friends. The idea of Reagandoodle explaining to Little Buddy that being adopted means being loved forever comes through as sweet and simple. Anyone involved in adoption knows that it isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, but this is introduction to the concept and on a level that little ones can access. Overall, it is a sweet story about love and belonging and that’s is rarely a bad thing.
