Overall, this was a pretty cute and fun read! It took me a little while to fully connect to the story and the characters, but by the time I approached the middle, I was invested. It's a fun, very modern take on Freaky Friday, with a "switch" between two cousins who don't get along. As an only child who grew up close to her cousins, I loved this take.
While very fun and parts made me laugh (plus Erik, one of the love interests, is SO sweet), there's also a deeper element to it with an exploration of influencer culture and the toll that can take on mental health.
To me, parts of the beginning and end seemed a little cheesy/forced (especially pertaining to theme), I'll admit, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved getting to see the relationship-building between the cousins, as well as the aunts, and--to not get into spoilers--the development of a relationship with another beauty guru (besides Erik). Plus, the DOGS. The dogs are fantastic. There are wolf dogs and a Chihuahua, and the dynamic between them is so funny but so true. I can attest from personal experience (lol).
Basically, read for the fun but also meaningful take on Freaky Friday a la cousins, stay for the dogs--and Erik.
