This was a fun quick read with a quirky lead and lots of puppies.

Abigail and Cooper seem like total opposites and do not get off on the right foot together. In fact, their initial blind date is a disaster that they can’t get through fast enough.

But over the course of Abigail trying to win Cooper around to helping her friend’s dog rescue, they find they have more in common than they thought. A couple of super cute date scenes have them opening up to each other.

Abigail is independent, fun, slightly kooky and laser focused on her goal. She jumps to conclusions and reacts before giving anyone a chance to explain, setting herself up for heartbreak.

Cooper is independent, by the book, and doesn’t always share what he’s thinking.

There are lots of hijinks with the rescue dogs, especially Abigail’s own chihuahua, Banana.

If you’ve enjoyed any of Susan Hatler’s other books, this one will not disappoint.

Million Dollar Date is a fun, hilarious romantic comedy. The story is good, and Cooper is great, but I definitely had a hard time connecting with Abigail. I think her character needed a bit more development in collaboration with her history. All in all, it's a quick, witty read.

Oh My! I couldn't stop smiling and laughing at this book! I was having such a fun time reading it!! Susan Hatler can write some darn good comedy! I was hooked on Abigail and Cooper right from the start!

Abigail Apple is a heart-warming heroine! She wants to do so much for everybody! Her heart is that big! She is quirky and funny and just so endearing! I loved her! Her first meeting with Cooper was hands down the funniest I have read in a long time!

Cooper is one hot officer! He tries to be so tight and by the book, but Abigail allows him to open up page by page! Their romance is sweet and I love the whole thing centering around a dog shelter and various charities! They were a very unique couple that you could not help to root for them!

I loved this book and I look forward to more from Susan Hatler!!

Abigail Apple is doing her best to live the life she wants to live. She is conscious to spend time making the right, desirable decisions versus the easy, predictable decisions. Abigail goes on a blind date but he main focus is saving her favorite dog rescue. She finds out that her date, Cooper, is able to choose a charity for a large donation that would save the dog rescue. Although she develops feelings for Cooper she doesn't lose her focus on the dog rescue.
The story was cute and Cooper was really sweet however Abigail was so manipulative (strong word but I'm not sure how else to put it) at times that I can't imagine why Cooper would ever be that nice and caring towards her. He was so great and cared deeply about her, the charities, his friend and then she had a one track mind to save those pups. Everyone loves a good puppy story but it made her unlikeable in my opinion.
Was this my favorite book of Susan Hatler's? No. Do I want to read the next book in this series? For sure.

Overall, Susan Hatler’s Million Dollar Date was a nice little story. I loved the meet-cute between the characters and the premise of the story.

Abigail Apple aka Abigail Adams is a 26-year-old manager of a pet store. To say Abigail is passionate about dogs would be an understatement. There's nothing she loves more than her dog Banana and Rescue at the Barn, a dog rescue run by her friend Reagan. On the day she's supposed to finally have a date with a man she's been talking to online, she receives the bad news that without a substantial influx of cash, Reagan is going to have to close the rescue. Distraught, she finds herself speeding to drop Banana off at home and make it to her date on time. As luck would have it, Abigail gets stopped for speeding. Much to Abigail's frustration, the handsome police officer doesn't seem to care or want to hear about her horrible day and gives her a ticket. Abigail's frustration turns into pure shock and disbelief when she arrives at the restaurant and finds out the handsome cop is Cooper Hill, her date. What's a girl to do when faced with this situation? Abigail orders the quickest thing off the menu with the intention of ending the date as soon as possible. But when she learns the city is giving away a six-figure donation to a worthy charity and that Cooper heads the committee, she decides another date with him is the perfect way to get the money Reagan needs.

Million Dollar Date is told in first-person from Abigail's point of view. I must say I have a love/hate relationship with her. She's impulsive. She doesn't always think clearly. She thinks with her heart. She only cares about what she cares about, and not what anyone else does. Yes, at times, these are all good character traits to have. But she comes across as someone who is unwilling to listen and has an “it’s my way or no way” attitude. As for Cooper, I loved him all the way. Overall, I liked the story. I really loved the little surprise Susan threw in. Just when I didn't see a way for Abigail and Cooper to be together, she made it so. And in that moment all the pieces clicked together.

The heroine of the next book has been introduced and I'm interested in seeing what's in store for her.

Imagine you're having a really bad day. Now you are running late. To make matters worse you have been pulled over for speeding. You eventually make it to your date, only to have your date be the very same cop who pulled you over. This is the exact scenerio our heroine is going through. Abigail is feeling destraught over her friends dog rescue having to close. When she finds out stuffy cop Cooper is heading a commmitee that will be awarding a deserving charity a large sum. She declares they should have a do over date. Cooper and Abigail are complete opposites in personailty. As the story unfolds and we get to know our heroine and hero, you cant help rooting for these two to find their happily ever after. A great start to a new series from Susan Hatler. Onr the dog lovers will sure enjoy.

After reading Forever in a Kiss, I was very happy to see another beautiful cover of a Susan Hatler story, Million Dollar Date. As stated on the cover, this story is indeed short. But very funny and sweet too.
Abigail Apple is having a bad day. After hearing her best friend will lose her house and attached Dog Shelter, where Abby volunteers regularly and losing her car keys and being late for her blind date, she is also pulled over for speeding. And although she tries to charm the uniform- looks- really- good -on-you officer
he stoically gives her a ticket, because those are the rules. And to top off her bad day, after arriving at the restaurant for her blind date, none other then stick to the rules - Robocop turns out to be her date.
No way bend - the - rules Abby will have to do something with officer Cooper. So,while trying to get away from her date, Abby accidentally learns that Cooper is the head of a committee, which is going to donate a six figure amount to a charity case. So, Abby changes tactics and convinces Cooper to a Do-over- Date.
Because Abby is sure she can plead her case to have Cooper vote for the dog Rescue.
After spending time together, both Abby and Cooper realize that maybe first impressions are not always best
and second changes can be very interesting.
Will stick-to-the-rules-Cooper and happy-carefree-Abby find a way to save the dogs? This is to find out for yourself in this heartwarming and funny read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

A wonderful sweet and fun romantic comedy about a hot cop and an ex lawyer. Abigail and Cooper don’t get off to a good start as their first meeting is him giving her a speeding ticket. However, there is clearly chemistry between them, and their attraction to each other is unstoppable. I enjoyed how their relationship developed. I was laughing from the first page. My only criticism is that it wasn’t long enough. I enjoyed it so much I would have liked the story to be longer. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves to have a good laugh when they’re reading.

First meetings can be deceiving…

Cooper is an follow-the-rules cop who meets his total opposite on follow-her-heart Abigail – what seems to be a doomed first meet gets an opportunity for a second chance and allow us to get to know these characters much better! Some funny situations ensue and you cannot help but root for a solution that would make everyone happy!

Bonus: a dog lover story

Sweet, short, and funny opposites attract romance with a HEA that will leave you wanting more. There were a few unexpected typos, and Abigail’s obsession with her own dog might have been a bit much for me (I’m definitely not judging – just an observation), but the story was sweet, funny and heartwarming so you definitely need to give it a try if that’s what you are looking for!

Worst Blind Date ever!!

But the best meet-cute! Abigail is on her way to a blind date, when she gets pulled over for speeding. Imagine her shock when she finally gets to her blind date and there is the officer that pulled her over! They both have terrible impressions of the other! But they eventually put their embarrassing meet-cute behind them, and start listening to each other, seeing the other’s perspective. Although they have different views, both want to serve their community and they balance the weakness in the other person with their unique strengths.

This is a fun, entertaining story.

Abby is so horrified at the idea of the dog shelter she volunteers at having to close that she accidentally speeds - only to be pulled over by a cop, who insists on booking her. When she soon after turns up to a blind date and finds that same cop to be her date, things don't go well - until she learns that he is part of a committee for deciding which charity will get a large donation from the city. There and then, she decides to get to know him in the hope of saving the dog shelter by winning that donation. But as they get to know each other, she gradually finds that he hasn't always been the rule-follower that he is now - just as she hasn't always been the free-and-easy type she is now. But can there really be common ground between them? And when the crunch comes, will she be willing to trust him?

A new series from the author is an exciting idea, and I think I enjoyed this even more than her last series - I'm certainly looking forward to the next book. As always, this was clean and well written, though I have to admit to being unable to get quite as excited about dogs as Abby... Recommended as a fun, light read that's more than just fluff. 4.5 stars.

Note that I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This is my considered opinion of the book.

Susan Hatler’s first book, Million Dollar Date, in the Do-over Date series will entertain you with its humor, wry, sharp dialog, and with the quirky character of Abigail. This is definitely a “feel good” rom-com that’s hard to put down. I’m looking forward to the next installment in the series.

I LOVED this shorter story!

Such a sweet, easy read!

Abigail and her blind date couldn't have worked out better. I love that they both had connections to charities that pulled at their heart strings.

Again such an easy going read!

This is my first book by this author and what a great story! This is a very clean romance that was refreshing. I loved that the author put two extremely important causes up for the coveted 10k donation. It added to the story and brought to light how many worthy causes are out there that rely on donations to keep them going.

I loved both main characters, Abigail and Cooper, and the author did a great job in developing both characters fully in such a short book. I also loved the secondary characters and hope that they get their own books too! s.

I look forward to reading more from this author.
