I caught up with my Sarah Morgan Christmas books over the Festive period and I decided to let this one spill into the New Year. I'm really glad I did, as with her other Christmas stories, I really enjoyed this one. I do like that some of Sarah's stories tend to cross the Atlantic, so there are the British elements in there as well as the American. I liked how the different characters stories developed and you learnt from their perceptive how things had been and were then becoming and how their relationships grew so what they needed progress to in the future. A great read. |
I absolutely loved this book. This is not the first Sarah Morgan book and will not be the last. Loved the characters in this book. loved the storyline and could not put this book down. |

I read this book very quickly thanks to such an engaging talented author! Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. Great characters, setting and storyline. Would highly recommend. |
Loved this book. Such a wonderful setting - couldn't be more christmassy. I was thoroughly drawn in by the characters and all their difficulties that they bought with them. Great book to usher in the festive spirit. |
I have actually managed to read all of my 2020 Christmas book releases already this year for the first time ever! With the most wonderful day of the year still a week away I wasn’t ready to leave the festive books aside so I decided because I loved One More for Christmas by Sarah Morgan this year I would go back and read A Wedding in December which was her Christmas release last year which I ran out of time to read. The White Family always come back together for a cosy traditional Christmas every year in their family home and Maggie was so excited about having her daughters’ home and had begun preparations when her youngest Rosie calls and announces she is getting married at Christmas to a man the family have never met. Katie is determined to stop her sister’s wedding to protect her from future heartbreak but should she be worrying more about herself than her sister? Sarah Morgan always creates such stunning and idyllic backdrops to her novels, I don’t think there is a more suited place to escape for Christmas than Snowfall lodge with the snowy treetops and dogsledding to enjoy. In true Sarah Morgan style we have three main female leads, Maggie and her daughters Rosie and Katie. I loved all three ladies and they are all very family orientated which is lovely to see but we do see the troubles that sometimes comes when you care so much for those close to us and all we want to do is protect them which means keeping secrets which the characters felt would prevent each other from worrying about them and also shows that sometimes we need to let others make their own way in life even if they will make mistakes. I loved the humour that Maggie and her husband Nick both to the storyline, what were rather awkward moments for them and embarrassing moments for those around them it was pure entertainment for me! As well as romance and humour there was also a little intrigue and mystery too surrounding Katie, we know early on she has been through something devastating and with each little nugget of information that is dropped through each chapter my mind started trying to piece together what little information we had to try and work out what she had faced. There is a festive feel to this novel with it being set at Christmas time and the characters spending but I would say it was more a wintery treat that can be read even after Christmas has passed. |

A lovely festive read that can be enjoyed anytime of the year. An interesting family, full of their own problems, and they tugged at the old heart strings a few times. A good storyline set in a wonderful winter setting. |

This was a lovely fast read about the White family who are going to Colorado to celebrate their youngest daughters wedding to a guy she has not known long. They all have doubts and baggage to take with them. This book has just made me even more excited for Christmas time! |

I loved this book. Loved it. I read it within 24 hours and I went through every single emotion that I possibly could. The characters are great and well written. They come to life on the page and you can’t help but feel like they are part of your circle. I wanted the book to last for so much longer, but it obviously had to come to an end. I love the descriptions of places and scenes. Sarah Morgan definitely takes you on a journey and I can’t wait for the next one! |
I love Sarah’s books and this was no exception Lovely book for a cold winters day Highly recommend |

Thank you to Netgalley for a pre publication copy. In return for an honest #AweddinginDecember #netgalley Rosie has moved to the USA to finish her degree. Whilst their she meets the man of her dreams. The wedding is planned for a few weeks away just before Christmas. Whilst Rosie is falling in love her parents have secretly seperated and are living apart. They don't want to ruin the wedding so they plan to continue with their "acting." Rose's older sister Katie is an A and E consultant, her dream job however an incident occurs at work and quickly Katie's life spirals into a blizzard. Will she force the Weddings closure? Can she save her parents marriage and herself? The cover drew me to this book. once but twice. I love the aqua green of the sky which blends into the wooden Lodge. This made me want to be reading this book in the lodge by the fire. Their are some emotional subjects included in this book such as divorce, professional assualt and child death. However this gives each of the characters their own life challenges which are exacerbated by spending Christmas together and by each character sharing the wealth of problems in this book. It prevents the book from becoming a hard book instead of having a Christmas feel. Furthermore I do not feel that much happened in this book until the last 20% of the book. The first 70% of the book was introducing the characters and them going about their day in the USA. This continued with nothing more happening until Katie walks in on her parents discussion. From there on in the book was a page Turner and every twist and turned happened in that small amount of pages. Therefore I feel this book would have worked better as a novella. On the other hand the characters complimented each other beautifully and I felt it was so effective that there were four strong female characters. Three from one family which showed your personality does not need to hold you back. |
If you enjoy family drama - you'll love this book - so many things going on yet such a joy to read and easy to follow. I love to read Sarah Morgan's books to relax and take me away from the stresses of life - this book is like a warm hug. |

A brilliant, feel good Christmas novel. Heartwarming and full of laughs. Quick easy read, highly recommended. |
When a story begins with a foreword from the author suggesting that A Wedding in December may or may not include a wedding at all you secretly start to wonder if this is a thriller wrapped up in rom-com wrapping. But fears were soon pushed aside when the story plunged into the most idyllic winter wonderland I've ever seen. Aspen is where festive dreams are made and I was in love with the dreamy destination used as a backdrop for this beautiful book. Secrets were the books driving force and the rhythm the story danced upon. I've never known a family lose the ability to communicate as much as the White's and it was very much a feeling of frustration, on my part as the reader. I wanted to shake the book in hopes of knocking some sense into these adults that have lost their way in life. But books have a funny way of unravelling any issues the storyline suggests and this narrative unpicked them beautifully. I don't think there's one character I can single out as they all faced many a similar challenge. As I've mentioned before, communication was a fundamental flaw for each and everyone of them and secrets were what wove the story together. Learning to open up and voice any hopes and fears of life and love was a learning curve, especially for the White's and it was this challenge that brought the book alive. In the remaining moments of the story, when all barriers were broken and true dialogue was able to break through, seen the book take flight in splendid glory. A Wedding in December is a heartfelt ride of pure emotions and I loved each and every minute of my time spent in Aspen. This book needs to make its way to your tbr piles this festive season that's for sure. Don't miss out on this winter wonderland. |
I’ll start this review as I think I always do when reviewing a romance novel (so sorry for being predictable) in saying that this really isn’t my genre of choice. I am a bit of a cynical old git and I also veer towards thrillers and generally much meatier reading material. I do, however, like to take a breather from the more macabre now and then and let myself be taken in by a bit of good old fashioned romance (not Mills & Boon level mind – that would be a step too far for me!). A Wedding in December is the story of Rosie’s wedding which is a shock for her family, partly because it is unexpected and to take place very soon and also because they will have to travel all the way to Aspen to be there. Her parents have their worries and are also guarding a big secret but vow to make the occasion special for their youngest daughter. Rosie’s older sister Katie is horrified at the thought of her sister getting married so soon, and in the States, and is determined to put paid to the wedding once and for all. What follows is, admittedly, all pretty predictable but it was also fun, sweet and well written. Was it a bit slushy at times? Yes – but do you know what? I really did enjoy it. It provided the perfect little drop of escapism and let’s face it, we could all do with a break from reality right now couldn’t we. So the miserable bag in me had to eat some humble pie and accept that this cute tale made me smile and it even made me a bit wistful! If you need to be taken away for a while by an easy, romantic read then I recommend giving this book a go. My thanks to #Netgalley, #HarperCollinsUK and #SarahMorgan for a copy of #AWeddinginDecember in return for an honest review. |

This was the first book that I have read by this author but I really enjoyed her easy writing style and the characters that she developed. The stresses of modern day life could be felt with some characters and the escape to a winter lodge in America seemed very appealing. Overall a pleasant and easy read. |
I have yet to find a book by Sarah Morgan that I have not enjoyed and A Wedding in December was no exception. I loved it. I read it in one sitting and was sad when it ended. Looking forward to the next book by Sarah. |
