Holly Kendal is trying to put her painful past and broken marriage behind her and focus on her beloved son, Milo. But while driving him home on a dark February night, Holly loses control on the rain-slicked tarmac, and her car spirals off the road.

When Holly regains consciousness, everything is silent and in the dark, she can’t see Milo. Desperately, she claws her way out of the car and forces the back door open.

To her relief, Milo is where she left him, injured but breathing – but then she sees something that makes her heart stop.

Milo isn't the only child in the car. Next to him is another little boy, unharmed but unconscious.

And Holly has absolutely no idea who he is.

There was far too many, and I had to jump back to see what I missed. I wish it lived up to what it could have been.

The Forgotten Child is a very eerie book
Holly Kendall is involved in a car crash and everything goes blank on her
But, instead of just seeing her son sitting in the back seat, she sees another child there
Holly has no idea of who the other child is, and neither does the reader
This book is like a roller coaster, and will have you hanging on until the last page
Loved this book

So, I was very intrigued by this book based on the blurb. It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but I did enjoy it. I would read more by this author, who is new to me.

With its laconic, seductive blurb, I threw caution to the wind and delved into 'The Forgotten Child'. Unexpectedly, what I had found was that I dove into a world of organized crime, drugs, kidnappings, and murder. This is probably my least favorite genre and although I read through the first dozen chapters, I just could not muster enough enthusiasm to finish the story. Sorry.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and D. E. White for an ARC of 'The Forgotten Child' in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

This book had an interesting blurb, but I was disappointed.

The dialogue is often clunky and there were so many warring characters that it was almost impossible to remember who was related to who. A family tree would have been useful!

I forced myself to finish this book to see how it ended but it was a bit of a chore as I didn’t really care for any of the characters, except for Milo.

A good idea, poorly executed.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my copy of this book.

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the advance ecopy. Holly is a single mom who is trying to piece her life together and make it better for her son Milo, when she loses control of her car and when she comes to her only worry is her son but there's one issue, there's another little boy in the back seat with him. Holly doesn't know where he came from. You will not want to put this one down! A real page turner, full of suspense!

The story was good but hard to follow because the writer assumed the reader knew who all the characters were. It would have been helpful to have a chart of the families mentioned so that I would be able to follow the story better.

Absolutely fantastic enjoyed it from the start it’s like a gangland thriller deffinitly up there with Jessie Keane loves all the characters especially holly and dev and all the goings on on the seaview estate I would love this to be a series and would love to get to know more about the characters in their younger days and the family dynamics of each group mentioned

I loved The Forgotten Child. I found it fast paced, exciting shocking and dark which is a lot of feelings for one book!
The only downside is the plot isn’t believable at all. I hated Holly talking about her family and upbringing. People do not live like that.
Overall I could get past that and I’m glad I did. Definitely one to read!
4/5
