Its been a LONG time since I read a book from Colleen Hoover and I'm now wondering why the hell I waited so long. Once I started this I was completely enthralled from beginning to the end.

Colleen has written this in a dual POV filled with emotion and heart. There were some sad times that made me shed a tear or two but there was also some really heartfelt moments too. The characters were brilliant and really relatable which added to my enjoyment of this one.

I had no clue about the storyline when I started this, I just went into it blind and excited getting a chance to read a CoHo book and she didn't disappoint me. I will certainly be reading more from CoHo very soon.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I've heard praises of Colleen Hoover's books before so I was excited to receive this e-arc and reading her work for the first time. I don't want to reveal anything so I suggest going into this book blind and enjoy the rollercoaster of twists and turns with family drama. This book is like an episode of The Maury Show. So many times I was caught off guard by the family secrets and deceit that slowly get revealed. I enjoyed all the characters and their interactions with one another. Only one part of the story I didn't like and made me feel unsatisfied for the main deception of the book; how, when, why did it happen? BUT I understand the characters choice not to learn the details on said deception.

Overall, very enjoyable--even up to the ending. I recommend this book for fans of contemporary drama/romance.

4.5/5

I absolutely loved this book. It was very moving and a bit different than her usual novels. It actually reminded me of a Sarah Dessen book (who I love).

I liked this book. Colleen can write intense characters and a strong story. This one had me feeling all the range of emotions. Loved the story and the development of the characters and the emotional aspects of the story.

This book was so emotional. It focuses more on the relationship between Morgan and Clara than on a romance which was different. I have a lot of spoilery thoughts that I don't want to reveal bcs I don't want to take away anyone else's enjoyment of the book.. I felt a lot with this book. Some good and some bad. I def recommend. Thanks to Net Galley for the ARC

Another Colleen Hoover book...another 5 star rating. She makes my feelings have feelings. I loved this story and the characters were both frustrating and delightful. I don’t know how she does it!

Pure perfection in the written word. This book will take you apart and put you back together again. And again. Because don't think Colleen will only do it once. Oh and she may move a town limits sign or two.

I have needed to write this review for a couple of weeks and it's time to stop putting if off even though I know words will not accurately portray my feelings for this book. Regretting You is definitely going to be a top read for 2020. I had such a book hangover after finishing the physical book that I immediately began listening to the audiobook. I do not want to move past this book -- it's THAT mesmerizing, captivating, and engrossing. If I could crawl into this story I absolutely would!⁣

Regretting You was my second @colleenhoover read and it's the second book of hers to completely blow me away. The hype over her books is real! At its core, Regretting You is about mother and daughter Morgan and Clara Grant. Told in dual POV, the plot follows these two characters as they maneuver though a major loss in their lives. ⁣
⁣
My 17-year-old teenage heart fell HARD for Miller. What a dreamy, swoony, heartthrob! His relationship with Clara was authentic and beautiful and he absolutely won my heart in this book. I felt like I was experiencing first love all over again! Miller Adams has definitely earned a place near the top of my list of favorite book boyfriends. ⁣
⁣
I felt so many feelings while reading this novel and the way Colleen Hoover's writing evokes emotions is one of the things I love so much about her books. At times the story broke my heart and other times my heart would swell with the sentiments of the characters. Regretting You was undoubtedly a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read for me. I don't know if I'll ever get over this book and I'm not sure I want to! 😍⁣
⁣
Regretting You is available now and free on kindle unlimited. The audio book is narrated by Tanya Eby and Lauren Ezzo who were both new to me but amazing! Listening to the audio book made the story and characters come alive even more and I LOVED it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the audio book performance, too!⁣

Thank you to Montlake Romance for an ARC. All opinions are my own.

This is my first book from Ms. Hoover and you know what? I FELL hard for this story! The story of female parts of the family, how they grew up after one terrible event. A mother and a daughter. Yet nothing could have put them more apart.
Morgan (a mother) had it all, but really? A husband, a daughter that she had still as a teen and loving sister and her family. Yet when one event blows it away like a house of cards - Morgan will have to learn how to deal with finding truth in the middle of lies
Claire is a sixteen-year-old girl, that was never on the best terms with her mum, she bonded more with her dad and her aunt. Isn't that the case with all of us? Her world was turn upside down as well, but with no one to talk about it, and with teens, problems arising Claire can only hold onto herself just so she won't draw in her own life.
I had never read the story where the MAIN part of the action would be a mother-daughter relationship that was so broken, that it would not be possible to mend it. Can one not said thing bring a spiral of events that would be so destructive that the whole life could be set upside down?
This story is a great standalone for mature teens and older readers - it brought me emotions that were hidden for a very long time.
Great read! Definitely a must-read and something to reread again!

This felt like old school colleen hoover to me and I couldn’t be happier about it.
This is the story of a mother and teenage daughter who are going through life. It’s hard. It’s so hard on a normal day. It’s even harder when something tragic happens and rocks your whole world.

Colleen Hoover is amazing, no matter what genre or story age writes. She is so great at weaving a real story with realistic characters. Regretting You was another well written book. This book followed a mother and daughter, and their relationships after a life changing situation rocks their world. I did find the first part to start a bit slow, but once the story picked up by 30%, it was hard to put down.

Holy Hell. The Queen has done it again. I'm talking about ALL THE MOTHERFUDGING FEELS. From smiles, to tears, to anger and back again, this mother/daughter relationship story is perfectly written in every way. It made me long for my own mother to still be here so I could hug and tell her thank you for all she did for me and wanting the best for me.

The characters in this story are fan-friggin-tastic. Hoover chiseled them with so much realism, with so much emotion, with so much perfection. I fell in love with Clara, seeing myself as a teenager in her, with Morgan, seeing so much of my own mother in her, with Jonah, hello, Hoover, thank you for THAT book boyfriend, with Miles, can I kiss him and marry Jonah, and even with Chris. The secrets, the pain, the love.....all of it made this book the best one I read in 2019.

If you've never been introduced to Colleen Hoover's work before, grab this one. You'll want a box of Kleenex with you, and maybe even a bottle of whiskey to chase the pain away. It's beyond just a simple recommendation. It's an amazing novel that will leave you breathless and wanting more. Once again, Hoover has created a magnificent novel that will suck your soul right out of your body and hold it captive long after the last page is read.

Regretting You, by Colleen Hoover depicts a very unique story line showcasing the relationship dynamic between a young mother and her teenage daughter after their lives are changed forever.
Immediately upon reading the last line, I knew I had to process, as this book gave me “all the feels”, taking me on a very emotional journey. The reader sees both young and adult Morgan and the different roles she fulfills in her life: the young mother pregnant at 17 now 34, the loyal sister and stoic wife. Morgan struggles to keep her life and most importantly her daughter, Clara’s life together after the tragic death of her husband and the secrets that are uncovered after his death. Trying to protect Clara creates a terrible rift between mother and daughter. Clara’s teenage drama escalates and effects everyone around her. The angst of reading the depth of their hurt was so very emotional and palpable. How far do you go to protect the ones you love before it destroys you?
For me, there was one aspect of the book that could have been explored a bit more. But as I have read all of Colleens books I know how she values the intellect of her readers giving them the ability to draw their own conclusions.

4/5 Stars

This book was provided to me by NetGalleyfor a fair and honest review.

I should have gotten more tissues before reading this book...I'm speechless. Not that it should come as a surprise cause dah, it's Colleen. If any author is guaranteed to make you a crying emotional mess, it's definitely Colleen. Regretting You is so much more than I could have ever expected. It's a beautiful, very moving book about young love and about lost love, about love between siblings and mainly, about love between mother and her daughter.

As someone who was raised by a single mother, I was really interested in the way Colleen would portray Morgan's and Clara's relationship. Their relationship has been strained by tragedies, misunderstandings and deception for a long time. When the last pieces that held them together fall apart, they will have to let go of all their demons in order to put them back together. Their relationship is very fragile and needs for both of them to invest their all into it. The story goes quite in-depth when it comes to the characters so it's very easy to ease into their minds. Both Morgan and Clara have their own storylines in Regretting You. While Morgan re-discovers old feelings and navigates her life through turbulent waters, Clara is a teenager/young adult discovering herself and exploring all sorts of her firsts.

I'd compared this book to All Your Perfects which obviously had a totally different theme/topic, but I found it similar because Colleen has again focused more on the emotions, on characters' feelings, on how they react and perceive the situations rather than on the actual situation. It felt much more lyrical then epical. And I mean that as a compliment because that's exactly what this kind of a book called for.

Writing this review is not easy at all because I don't want to give away any spoilers. I hope I made at least some sense in this review. It really blew my mind. I didn't think I could be shocked anymore after Verity, but oh boy was I wrong.

5 stars and then some more!

I normally do not read romance at all, but I trusted my bookish ladies on Instagram and gave it a go. And Oh My Gosh I am so glad that I did. This book gave me all the feels!

What I mean by that is that I was actually feeling the emotions that Clara and Morgan were feeling. I was upset when terrible things happened and gleeful when excited new opportunities arose for them.

Regretting You did not make me cry, but there were times when my sorrow was so incredible that I had to walk away from the book and go find my boyfriend to be comforted because I could not imagine living in a world without the people that I loved the most.

That’s the thing about Colleen Hoover. She doesn’t write “normal” romance and I will say that time and time again. Her books are unlike any other romance book that I have ever read. I don’t just feel mushy and gushy but I feel sorrow, hurt, betrayal, and euphoria. Her writing is magnificent and if you haven’t read a Colleen Hoover book yet… well you need to. Trust me.

While this certainly is an engrossing plot and is written in a propulsive compelling way, I don't think I'm the right reader for the story. I think if I was a bit younger it would be something I'd devour in a sitting. Hoover is great at creating "what just happened" plots and situations that have you turning pages faster than you thought possible. For me, the characters had issues I couldn't quite buy into and it left me wanting something more genuine.
