Continuing on with the Wilde Ways series, this book (which is a standalone) has a bit of a beauty and the beast vibe.

The heroine is the daughter of a mob boss. She’s in protective custody and keeps slipping their guard. The Feds have a leak and pass her off to Wilde Security (their big boss knows Eric Wilde and knows he’ll keep her locked down). Eric assigns Rick to her. She’s very sassy and feisty and immediately starts teasing him.

For Kat, everyone always assumes she’s just like her father and she’s some spoiled mob princess. The thing is, she maybe was a spoiled princess as a child, but when she realized what her father actually did? She became a trapped prisoner in her own house. But now her father has been assassinated and she’s pretty sure she’s next. She turned herself over to the government. She agrees to testify against the mob and her life is instantly in even more danger. She thinks she can do a better job of watching out for herself than the feds, especially since there’s a leak. So she keeps escaping.

Rick can keep her locked down, but he doesn’t trust the Feds at all. But whether that’s because of the way one of them looks at Kat or something else, is up in the air.

I wasn’t sure I liked Kat right off the bat, but she grew on me quickly. I mean, she’s the daughter of a mob boss, so how was Ms. Eden going to make her the heroine? Well, I should have known better. She always writes great characters. Kat’s really flirty and can come off as TSTL until you understand her motives, so don’t worry! She isn’t really Too Stupid To Live. And trust me, Kat really wants to live.

Rick is was easy to like, and I liked who he was ,and how he was with Kat. He didn’t get her flirting at first, I mean he knew she was messing with him, but he couldn’t pin down her angle. He also immediately stereotyped her as the typical mob princess. Boy was he wrong. And I liked seeing Kat prove him wrong.

There is a twist in here that I really liked. I don’t know as everyone will, but I think it worked. I can’t wait to read Ghost of a Chance next!

Any review for Cynthia Eden's books do not do enough justice, unless read and savored to the heart's content. The Wilde Boy saga continues with Rick Williams of Wilde Security up against the mob princess, Kathleen O' Shaughnessy.

You will not get nothing short of deadly action and hot romance as Rick and Kathleen try to keep themselves alive long enough to explore a future together!

A definite read and a definite addition to my personal library!

I’ve loved the Wilde Ways books up to this point, but I just didn’t like Kay at all, and Rick was okay. The combo was nothing I cared about. Todd’s the end it was interesting, but that’s just because Cynthia Eden knows how to put together a story. Unfortunately the characters just didn’t connect to me on this one, but I will still read the next one.

Cynthia Eden knows how to build a story. There are a lot of players in this book coupled with a bunch of twists and turns. Rick and Kat are great together. Loads of sexy tension, bad guys and action, this is a great book to get lost in.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to leave an honest review. This is the fifth book in the series and is overall a great series if you want some suspense but a lot of full blown emotion. I really enjoy Cynthia's writing style; she keeps you engaged and the timeline very well organized.

This book follows Rick, an agent with Wilde Security, and Kat, a mob bosses daughter. Kat is being hunted; her father was killed and she is set to testify against a lot of bad people. The FBI can't keep her safe so they enlist Wilde Securities to take over her safety. Enter Rick, an ex-fireman and now big bad agent who never gets involved personally with his cases. Unfortunately or fortunately, Kat proves to be the exception. Somehow, Kat's whereabouts keep getting compromised so Rick and Kat are constantly on the run and don't know who to trust.

There are so many twists and turns and bad guys lurking around every corner. I don't want to give any spoilers but the book definitely keeps you on your toes! Kat and Rick will both surprise you.

I would definitely recommend; very well written and engaging. There are so many great characters that make you look forward to the next book in the series.

The suspense will keep you turning the pages. The characters were well developed, complex and interesting, the story is well planned and full of twists and turns, I found myself on the edge of my seat at times whilst reading this book. There is never a dull moment in this story and it will take you on an intense wild ride from beginning to end and you won’t want to get off. If you love your romance with suspense, this is one book you need to read. 5 stars all the way!! Happy reading!!

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Wow, the books in this series just keep getting better and better! When you first see Kat, you know that her bluster is hiding a hurt soul, and Rick just doesn't respond like men normally do for her! He thinks she is a mafia princess and won't fall for her so you know that he has met his match!

There are so many twists and turns in this suspense that you are kept guessing, and bad guys aren't so bad and hit men can have some good in them. They keep running from danger and close calls and there is a mysterious call that saves them once more - but the person who made the call is a huge surprise and there is a lot we don't know about him!

I don't want to give away any spoilers and ruin the suspense of this book so I will leave out so many things that I loved about this book! The epilogue really sets us up for the next book which will be a doozy!

Wish I could give this more than 5 stars as I really enjoyed reading this action packed romance.

4.25 stars--FIGHTING FOR HER is the fifth instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary, adult WILDE WAYS romantic, suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Wilde Securities. This is Wilde Securities Agent Rick Williams, and mafia princess Kathleen ‘Kat’ O’Shaughnessy’s story line. FIGHTING FOR HER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty . Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person perspectives including Rick and Kat FIGHTING FOR HER follows the protection and guardianship of Mafia princess Kathleen ‘Kat’ O’Shaughnessy. With her father’s dead, Kat O’Shaughnessy is set to testify against the mob but first there is the question as to the whereabouts of close to twenty million dollars. With a price tag on her head, Kat has been under the protection of the FBI but Kat’s numerous escapes finds her protection handed over to Wilde Securities. Enter Rick Williams, the man with whom Kat will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Rick and Kat, and the potential fall-out as several attempts against Kat’s life force our couple on the run.

Kat O’Shaughnessy has no idea as to where her father’s money has disappeared but someone or someone(s) are desperate to end our heroine’s life or at the very least uncover the whereabouts of twenty million dollars. Often times TSTL (too stupid to live) Kat struggles with the protection assigned to keep her safe. Falling for Rick Williams means placing the man in the direct line of fire, a man with whom Kat is secretly in love. Rick Williams doesn’t do relationships especially a relationship that can compromise his contract with Wilde Securities but several attempts against Rick and Kat’s life force Rick to stay close to our storyline heroine.

The relationship between Rick and Kat is one of immediate attraction but their personalities clash from the start. Rick views Kat as a spoiled Mafia princess, not knowing the extent to which Kat has suffered at the hands of the mob. Constantly on the run as their locations are compromised Rick and Kat fall towards their own happily ever after. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including Wilde Securities boss Eric Wilde; Wilde Security specialist Cole Vincent; FBI agents Bryan Brisk, Tom Wayne; Detective Layla Lopez; defense attorney Kendrick Shaw; and assassin James ‘Ghost’ Smith. The requisite evil has many faces but not everyone is who they appear to be.

FIGHTING FOR HER is a well written story of money, power and control; of betrayal, greed and vengeance; of falling in love and happily ever after. The premise is energetic, fast paced and intriguing; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are dynamic and charismatic.

SPECTACULAR .
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy through Netgallery of Fighting For Her .
I really found this story outstanding .
Kathleen O'Shaughnessy (KAT ) for short needs protection because she has alot of information that will convict alot of mafia criminals till she testifies then she will go into witness protection program . She is assigned to Wilde Securities . Rick Williams is head of her protection detail . The attraction is immediately apparent but danger is everywhere . The story is intense and so intriguing . It keeps you on the edge of your seat . I didn't want to put it down . The story has so many twists and turns you don't know who they can trust . The suspense is off the charts . The characters are a unique bunch of characters . Kat is quite an interesting and multi talented woman . I really enjoyed the lead into the next story . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .

This book is full of suspense, danger and romance. I loved this book because it was always making you think about what was happening next. Kat is a mob princess who is to testify against the mob. Rick is the Wilde guard assigned to protect her. He will do whatever it takes to keep her alive. Great story and keeps you wanting more.

This is my first Cynthia Eden book but will not be my last. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves a great storyline

Fighting for Her involves Rick Williams who works for the Wilde protection agency and Kat O’Shaughnessy daughter of a now deceased top Mafia boss.
Kat has agreed to testify in court about all her fathers illegal activities so there are some very bad men up to stop her, the FBI have failed to protect her when an attempt is made on her life so bring the Wilde agency in to help.
The relationship between Kat and Rick starts almost immediately, and as Rick does his utmost to protect her and keep any feelings under wraps it soon explodes into an intense passionate affair, these two ignite the pages but there is also much humour, Kat is no mafia princess and continually surprises Rick with her strength of character and abilities.
As the action ramps up there are many dangers they have to face. This is a great story, well written exciting and well paced.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

Fighting For Her by Cynthia Eden is book 5 in the Wilde Ways Series. This is the story of Kathleen "Kat" O’Shaughnessy and Rick Williams. I have read the previous books but feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Kat's father was a infamous mob boss and she was the classic pampered, sheltered mob princess. But her father is dead now and she has come forward to give information to the FBI. Of course she needs some protection because she has a target on her back and the FBI gives the security company Wilde Securities to do that job. Enter Rick who doesn't mess around and when he finds that she is a loose cannon with her safety he just locks in harder with her safety. Of course head butting goes along with their hot attraction.
Enjoyed their story and hope to read more from this author.

Oh my goodness!! This book was hilarious!! I mean between hiding from the people trying to kill her, Kat, keeps her bodyguards on their toes. Once she meets, Rick Williams, she is all about staying alive. It’s funny watching these two spare back and forth, and Kay showing her skill set to Rick. Who, by the way, is one to follow the rules; unlike Kat who grew up with a dad in the mob. With all hands on deck from Wilde security, and the FBI, the hunt is on. Will Kat make it to the courtroom and share what she knows? Or will the killer succeed? I absolutely love this series!!

I cannot say enough about how much I love this series. Intense. Passionate. Filled with action and drama. Great characters and each one has a captivating plot. I love it.  I want more. I want Cole's story and Ghost's story. Rick was a firefighter with Julia, and so we already know his backstory, and I was so excited to read his own adventure and love story. Kat is a material witness in a mob related court case and she has to get there alive, something no one connected to her dead mod boss father wants to happen.  Enter Wilde securities.  The FBI has a leak and it is up to Rick to keep her alive for one week until her trial.  Their chemistry was off the charts the moment they meet in Eric’s office.  Rick's problem comes in that Kat is intent on running to keep everyone else alive. The back and forth the two take part in in the beginning was fun to watch; she knew how to get under his skin.  Every second was great and there were some nice surprises along the way.  I highly recommend the series.

FIGHTING FOR HER is the fifth book in Cynthia Eden’s “Wilde Ways” series but works well as a standalone story as well. This book starts out as an “enemies to lovers” story. Kat O’Shaughnessy is the daughter of a murdered mob boss. Everybody seems to be after her as she waits to testify at a big trial. Rick Williams, from Wilde Securities, is Kat’s big burly bodyguard. Due to an understandable lack of trust, on both sides, the atmosphere is more prickly than conducive to romance. As Kat and Rick go on the run and trust builds, the passion builds as well and their feelings for each other deepen.

I love the way Cynthia Eden works the theme of “trust” into her stories. It’s such a big part of FIGHTING FOR HER. For Rick, years ago he was unknowingly friends with a psycho and didn’t find out until it was almost too late. That error in judgement has haunted Rick and made him very cautious about trusting others again. For Kat, she found out in her teens that her dad was a murdering mob boss, and she was deceived by several other people close to her over the years as well. I adore the ways Rick proves his trustworthiness to Kat over the course of the book. I like how this story is told from alternating perspectives and gives the reader a window into the minds of several characters in FIGHTING FOR HER.

FIGHTING FOR HER is a thrilling story of love on the run with a first-class hero. This is a book that only gets more fascinating the more you read of it. I’m really hoping this isn’t the last book in this series because I really want to read stories about Cole, and especially the enigmatic Ghost. I eagerly await Cynthia Eden’s next book.

Fighting for Her kept me on the edge of my seat and kept me wanting more to find out what happens next. Rick wanted Kat the moment he saw her. Once they went on the run they had to stay that way because the person that was trying to kill her was constantly on their tail. The FBI and Wilde Security couldn't trust each other because someone shot up Kat's hotel room on their watch and someone broke into Wilde Security.

The chemistry these two characters have steams off the page. At some points I felt like the pages were going to catch on fire. I thought it was interesting that everyone trying to protect Kat was from her past in some way. Throughout the book I never felt like someone that worked for her father was after her, it had to be someone else. In the end, when we find out who the bad guy is, I never suspected it would be that person. Fighting For Her is a great addition to the Fighting For Her series and another win with Cynthia Eden.

I'm a huge Cynthia Eden fan, and I've really enjoyed this series. This particular addition to the series features former firefighter, Rick, and mob princess turned prosecution witness, Kat. Kat kept me entertained at the beginning. She had a snarky devil may care persona she used to keep people at arm's length. No one saw through it until Rick, and it took him quite a while to do so. Once he does, Kat becomes invaluable to him. These two were a great match. Rick was not your typical pretty boy hero. He was rough and gruff, and that was precisely why Kat was attracted to him. She was strong and able to take anything Rick dishes out. Her fierceness was his turn on. Overall, there was a lot of action and sexiness and a very fast moving pace interspersed with favorite familiar characters from previous stories. I loved it, and I'm ready for Layla's story.

I reviewed an ARC from Net Galley for honest review.
