This one is difficult for me to rate. Most of it was very entertaining and I did finish it, which was a plus. This is an erotic romance that's nicely written in first person POV. It revolves around a one night stand, which is glossed over, except for the sex. The H/h meet a year later when Emily starts her dream job (at Jameson's firm) and they cannot keep their hands off each other - naturally. There is lots of erotic sex in this book, lots of push/pull, yes/no. They fight, they make up, they fight again - rinse, repeat. That is the tedious part I found very irritating. Plus, this was a VERY long book and I give myself 5 stars simply for getting to the end, because there really was no ongoing back story to cling to, apart from the H/h's jealously.

Things I had problems with:- firstly, the overuse of the word "smirk".. Character development - I knew virtually nothing about Emily. Yes, 2/3 of the book was from her POV and we knew everything she was thinking, saying, feeling, etc, but only in the moment and there was no mention of her past, work history, goals, family (apart from parents who were never in the picture. For instance, she met Jameson twelve months ago, she couldn't forget him, then apparently moved on with another man. Why bother with that at all, just to have an easy break up? Why not just have her work and pine for the stranger on the plane. Would have made more sense to me. She said she knew no one in NY, but then it's revealed later that she worked there each summer during college? Jameson's character was all over the place, so I won't go there in any detail because of spoilers. Needless to say, he's hot/cold, strong/weak, hard/mushy.

Overall I enjoyed this book, but I was left so confused that I'm sure they're going to break up multiple times in the future. 3.5 stars rounded up and I will say, just read this book for the fun factor and try not to analyse it too closely. My favourite scene was their attempt at camping! My thanks got to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC in return for my opinion. Yes, I will read the next book starring Jameson's brother Tristan.

A tad predictable but well written. I didn't really connect with any characters so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have.

The Stopover starts with just that - a flight that is going from London to NYC but gets way laid and ends up having to fly into Boston for the night due to weather. Emily Foster, a young and feisty thing is flying back from London in coach but after an incident in the airport, she's bumped up to first class. And it's there that she meets the slightly older, incredibly hot guy that's seated next to her. From the very get go, these two are funny as hell. If they aren't bantering or arguing, they're flirting up a storm. I didn't mind the book at all and look forward to the next book

Sexy. Funny. Lovable.

The story was easy to read and flowed beautifully from start to finish. Its filled with drama and suspense, banter and fluff. We are introduced to Emily and 'Jim' as they are seated together in a first class flight. Due to bad weather, they get deferred and stopover in Boston where they decide to spend one explosive night together. The next morning they part ways with no reason to stay in touch. A year later, the heroine moves to a different city and starts a new job, not knowing she is now working for our hero, Jamison Miles.

I loved their easy going relationship. Their chemistry was easy to see from the first time they met . I loved reading their banter and teasing. I loved that the hero was fully involved once he was able to commit. Heroine was strong and didn't excuse his lifestyle or let him boss her around.

Both main characters are loveable. The heroine is quirky, and down to earth, pulling the hero into her reality, making him more likeable. The hero is an alpha CEO who is constantly stressed. His cold and disattached.

The Stopover is the first instalment in the Miles High club series and can be read as a standalone. Hero has three brothers who featured in the story and will have their own books.

Very very interring plot. One of the first original reads I have seen in a while. I loved the Sherlock Holmes feel to the story and definitely want a sequel.

The characters, the storyline development, the story, the pace, everything was good.
I was into it from the start.

My first time reading that author and I hope to read more.

And the cover is beautiful, that's what caught my eye and made me want to read this book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing access to this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I started this book really loving it and was having a great time enjoying it, unfortunately, the story fell apart for me when the two main characters met again, a year later.

I really enjoyed the time spent together between Jameson and Emily when they first met. It was such a cute and fun time seeing them flirting and joking around with one another and just having a good time.

Although it was obvious where the night was headed, I wasn't expecting it to be as steamy as it was but it was still flirty and fun. They were so cute together and I loved the witty banter that went on between them. I also loved how he brought out a side to her that she didn't know she had and that was surprising but fun.

Jameson and Emily met again a year later when she moves to New York and starts working at her dream job. They met while she's was on a tour of the company and that's when she finds out that the guy she met on the plane, is the CEO of the company.

I found Jameson to be bossy, arrogant, and at times cold, a complete alpha male. Although there were a lot of times that I was not a fan of Jameson, he did have a sweet side to him as well and I liked seeing that side of him.

I thought the relationship between Emily and Jameson, for the most part, was very back and forth as well as problematic but there were times where it was cute and fun. There were so many times where Jameson and Emily were mad at one another and confused about why the other was acting the way they were and where they stood with one another or in the relationship. Although a lot of the time, Jameson was bossy, arrogant, angry/upset, and at times cold, he did have a sweet side to him which was brought out by Emily and that was nice to see.

I also liked two of the side characters, Molly and Aaron, I loved how supportive, friendly, and protective they were of Emily and how they welcomed her into their lives from the very beginning. Molly and Aaron were both also very funny, which was fun to see.

Although this book was not for me, it did have its moments. The ending turned out well, with the relationship between Jameson and Emily and it was nice to see Jameson fighting for Emily and wanting to start fresh in the relationship and that he was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen!

This is the first book I have read by TL Swan; it is the first instalment in "The Miles High Club" series, which will follow four brothers.

The prose is in the first-person and it alternates between the two main characters, Emily and Jim/Jameson.

Unfortunately I found this book rather boring as it was so formulaic and an effective rinse-and-repeat of the 50 Shades trilogy: the main characters were practically the same, living in similar situations, the various descriptions of both of their apartments was pretty much the same as well, as was their work situation, the biting of the bottom lip and the rolling of the eyes, the way they communicate and the final romantic gesture. Even a relationship contract/agreement makes an appearance!

No BDSM here, and a much simpler story-line, with a bit of intrigue popping up two-thirds into the book, which is resolved very swiftly and which has major plot-holes and baffling development in relation to the person first tasked with investigating it - his behaviour simply made no-sense and there was no good explanation for it.

The behaviour of the characters is utterly childish and not very realistic, with a fair bit of highly inappropriate sexual-harassment in the workplace there for good measure, but which was absolutely fine with the characters.

The sex-scenes were also rather repetitive (as they were in 50 shades) and a copy-and-paste job of each other.
I nearly left the book half-read.

The contemporary romance genre is very prolific and there are many stories out there which are actually original, or, at the very least, not such a blatant faded carbon copy of 50 Shades.

Have been patiently waiting for the sequel to this book. I liked the idea of the this one. Meeting someone on a transatlantic flight, having a passionate affair and falling in love is what dreams are made of. Especially when one is as hot as Mr. Miles. A fantasy we'd all love to live.

TL Swan is such a master in word wizard has struck again. And The Stopover is proof that TL Swan has done it again. This book is so real that you sometimes forgot that is fiction and not real life, she keep her stories real, where every one can relate to it. TL Swan is a perfectionist and will not give you something halfhearted and watered just because it is just another book, she will put her everything into the book and The Stopover is proof that master craftsmanship is in the order of the day.

The Stopover really pulled the crazy out of me, as I totally went from one extreme emotion to the next at warped speed. As much as I LOVE every last story that I experience by TL Swan, this book has taken over as my favorite.

Emily Foster & Jim actually met on a plane they were traveling on together, and since it was a bit on the longer side, they really hit it off like crazy. Then when a storm kept them out of their final destination of New York, they spent a super HOT weekend together, but when it was time for Emily to go, he never got her number, so she assumed he only thought it was a fun hookup, unlike her, who it meant a bit more to. Fast forward a year, and Emily is moving to New York, starting a job at her dream job at Miles Media, and she about stroked out when she came face to face with Jim her first day, only he was Jameson Miles, CEO. After she got over the initial shock, she went on about her business, however, Jameson didn't, because he wanted her badly, & was determined to get her in his bed again. At this point, I was very upset with him, because some of the choices he made, always ended up with Emily hurt. She's got a boyfriend back home, and he wants her to dump him, so she can hookup with Jameson again. Granted, they have chemistry in spades, but their volatile interactions when together were also something to see, as Emily had no problem standing up to him. And he never left her alone, so it was only a matter of time. They start on a journey where Emily is catching feelings while he was a douche who really pissed me off with his decisions, as he was treating her like a booty call. In between all of this drama was an underlying mystery, as someone was trying to take Jameson's company from him, so he was very cranky much of the time, and kept hurting her over & over again, especially with his, I don't do relationships, but I don't want you to find another man to have one with. Things are coming at warp speed now between their hookups, and the twists teasing us about who dun it. Then there's Jameson, who decided he wanted to try a relationship with her, so things were going very well for a time, until a HUGE f-bomb dropping worthy twist came out of nowhere, and this is when he really screwed her over. I could literally feel her pain, and I went back & forth between crying and raging at him, and just when I thought he couldn't get any worse, guess what?! HE GOT WORSE! I still haven't forgiven him for it long after I was done with the book, and I had wished Emily would have found someone else at that point, but at least she finally had enough, and just pushed him out of her life completely, and I do mean completely. Will Jameson ever get back in?!

Man, I'm still upset as I type the review to be honest, which is a sign of a brilliant author, that intense book hangover effect. If you want it for yourselves, and to find out how it all panned out between Emily & Jameson, you absolutely NEED to one click this story! And I CANNOT WAIT for Tristan's story up next! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I tried reading this once before, and I could not for the life of me get into the story or the characters, but the plot intrigued me WHO LOVES A BOSS/EMPLOYEE ROMANCE? THIS GIRL. THIS GIRL RIGHT HERE. And so, this book called me back, demanding me to pick it up again, maybe that was Jameson calling me back, but oh I'm glad he did because HOT DAMN. I'm waiting for the moment I meet my three-piece donning sex god on a plane, but eh, unfortunately, I have yet to come across him:P Definitely glad I gave this a second shot because the story was steamy and I loved the relationship, boss/employee, in the book!

This is a very steamy book about two very headstrong people. Each of them have a little bit of a dual personality. One likes to be in control, but also has a very sweet side. The other is a bit of a feminist and comes off as “snarky” a lot, but she is also very caring. There are some ups and downs to their non-relationship, but their story comes through by the end. I want to hear more about the other Miles brothers now!

Good, witty, sexy and mysterious. I loved every moment of Stopover, it was a fantastic book with a fantastic plot. I loved the bickering between the characters and how their whole relationship just evolved and came to life. Recommend everything from TL Swan.

If you love hot alpha asshole males, you are going to love Jameson. I went through moments of hating him and loving him. He can be such an arrogant domineering male and, other times, he can be incredibly playful and sweet. Emily is an absolute firecracker. She gives just as good as she gets with Jameson. At times, I did get irritated with her because she caved into Jameson and his dominating ways. Of course, with the sexual chemistry between them being so hot, it’s not really surprising that she gives in to him. While Jameson and Emily are finding their way in their relationship, someone is threatening Jameson’s company and a competitor is more than happy to poke the angry bear that is Jameson.

What I loved most was Emily and her fury. Strange I know. But I find it so irritating when the male hero treats the female protagonist like crap and she just forgives him so easily. I was so glad to see her push back because he expected her to simply forgive him. It was a great story but I did have mixed feelings about the ending and how quickly things progressed. I may however be in the minority but that’s how I felt. Overall, I still loved the story.

The Stopover by TL Swan

Oh my gosh, this book really resonated with me, I found myself completely enamoured with Emily and Jay. They are two people who come from different backgrounds but they suit each other.

They are flirty, and cute also they are so hot as well. Jay is a charismatic CEO who knows how charm people. Emily was definitely charmed by him and well he hit the jackpot when she got ‘upgraded’ to first class.

The ‘stopover’ led to a hot night of fun for them both. I don’t think either of them was expecting it but it was definitely something that I loved to see. I haven’t read many books by this author, but every book I have read has been a winner for me so I’m excited to see what she writes next!

4 stars

Wow! This book was so much better than I expected. I started this looking for a fun, fast read (which is usually when I turn to romance). This definitely filled that requirement, but it surprised me as well. The characters were well written, there was definite chemistry, the banter was great, With that said, sometimes I really hated Jameson. He could be a total cold-hearted jerk. In the end, I really enjoyed the story.
