Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Claire and her father have been in a traffic accident. When Claire regains consciousness, she can’t remember anything. This story follows her as she learns things about her life and relationships that she never expected. The thing I like about thrillers is a great plot twist at the end, and this book doesn’t disappoint! Claire is so vulnerable and likable, and it’s easy to see why she gets so confused and doesn’t know who to trust. I spent the whole book on the edge of my chair, cheering for her.

Claire wakes up in the hospital with no memory of who she is and how she got there. Little by little, we learn more about the event that led her there.

This book was just okay. I enjoyed the premise of the story and I think it might appeal to some but it wasn't for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and HQDigital for the opportunity to read and review this book.

The story is about Claire who has been in an car accident and has no recollection of her past once she gains consciousness. The story begins from this point onward as Claire tries to navigate her new reality and tries to fill in the gaps of her past life.

I liked the writing of the book as it was very accessible and easy to get into. The situation that Clair finds herself in makes her an unreliable narrator and it is something I really enjoy in psychological/domestic thrillers. Admittedly, the plot took some time to take off, and as is the case with thrillers, the characters in particular weren't very likable. However, as I progressed in the story I was intrigued by the mystery and the secrets that people around Claire were harboring, which kept me going. Was it a little predictable? yes, maybe, but overall, I found this book to be a decent read. Looking forward to what Lana Newton does next.

A good easy read. Well-written, well-plotted. Claire is involved in an accident that leaves her remembering absolutely nothing about her life or the people in it-A thrilling read, which held my interest until the end. Recommended.

‘Her Perfect Lies’ is the latest book by Lana Newton.

When Claire Wright wakes in hospital, she doesn’t recognise the person staring back at her in the mirror. She’s told that she has the perfect life: she’s beautiful, famous, with a husband and a house to die for. But Claire can’t remember anything from before the devastating car crash that’s left her injured. And now she’s surrounded by strangers, saying they’re her family and friends. As Claire discovers the person she used to be she must also unravel the mystery that surrounds the accident. But the more Claire uncovers, the more she will be forced to face up to the dark secrets from her life before.

This is perfect thriller to get absorbed in and with an unreliable narrator leaves the reader guessing right until the final page.

Seen from the perspective of Claire, who wakes up from a coma after an accident with no memory and having to rely on what friends and family tell her to be true. Led to believe that the life she has is perfect, Claire begins to question her life especially after her father also wakes up from a coma having been involved in the same accidents and also makes her doubt everything that she was led to believe.

As the story progresses, we see a different side to Claire, prior to her accident she was a successful ballet dancer, she wasn’t the nicest of people to her family and friends and as people remind her of her old life, it gives her time to reflect and try to piece together her life and the memories and dreams that haunt her. In an unhappy marriage, she struggles to make sense of what is real and what she is led to believe.

The story isn’t that long and could be absorbed in one sitting. Cleverly written with a character that you initially feel an empathy for due to her situation, you begin to change your opinion of her as people relieve what type of person she was before the accident, vain and unfaithful. She’s not quite the perfect girl that her father tells her.

As Claire tries to piece together her old and new life, she finds herself revealing secrets that were long hidden from her life and coincidentally puts her own life at risk.

Thrilling with drama, suspicious characters and twists throughout, ‘Her Perfect Lies’ is a fantastic psychological thriller that made for unpredictable reading.

The book premise: a woman wakes up in a hospital bed and can't remember who she is or what happened to her. Here's my problem: this scene has been done a million times.

The synopsis begins with: "The twisty psychological suspense that will keep you guessing"

I figured out who the antagonist was by midway through the book. It did not keep me guessing.

I just felt the book was, "been there, done that."

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy for an honest review.

I wanted to read something different and I have gotten just that here. This was a breath of fresh air reading: from twists and turns to a great plot that kept me guessing until the end!. Sometimes I need a change of genre from my usual reading and this book accomplished just that!

I give this 3 stars. It was okay! I didn't dislike this book. I didn't love this book. It did not WOW me. It was just okay.

The main character of the story is Claire. She wakes up in the hospital one day to find herself there but has no idea why. They tell her she was in a car accident but she can't remember it. In fact, she remembers NOTHING. She doesn't remember who she is, doesn't remember her husband, her best friend or her father (who is also in the hospital due to the same accident) and she doesn't remember her mother. She doesn't remember her past life.

She is released from the hospital and goes home with her (distant) husband and falls into this life that she has no clue about. She learns she is a famous ballet dancer but can't remember this part of her life either.

The story then follows her trying to figure out her life (which is hard because everyone in this book seems to lie to her) and trying to solve a mystery that occurs.

It had such a promising story line to me. But, just fell a bit short. I kinda guessed the "mystery" and who was behind things pretty early on. I also had no "like" for anyone in this book. I literally did not care about any of these characters. Everyone was just so distant. It just didn't have a WOW factor for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Publisher for the ARC!
