This is great. This is the kind of bool/comic I'd buy a kid for a gift. The art work is phenomenal. They story is fun and engaging. What's more, I really like how it's a very accessible gateway into the scifi genre, a genre that could be really intimidating to readers. I don't have many options to buy a kid in this age group a gift, but I'll keep this in mind the next time I do (or as a recommendation of others in look of a good one for their kid).

Fun Fun Fun World follows the crew of Devastorm 5, which is the worst crew within the alien universe. They take part in trying to find new planets to take over and conquer, however, this crew hasn’t successfully achieved this mission before. The crew is lead by Minky, who thinks he is the best captain in the galaxy and has come from a very successful mother, who he wants to do her proud. Due to this and being the joke within the alien galaxy, he vows he’s going to do the one thing that his mother never achieved – conquering Earth. However, little does he know, the part of Earth he lands on, is just a small part of Earth and also an amusement park. After they land in Fun Fun Fun World amusement park, they meet Javi, who is the son of the amusement park’s head engineer, and he tells the aliens that Earth hasn’t been the same for a long time. This is where Javi begins to outwit the aliens and introduces them to churros, which Minky absolutely loves and never wants to leave Earth because of churros. What else could happen for this disastrous alien crew? Of course another alien coming to ruin their conquering and destroy Earth!

One of the things I loved the most about this comic is at the very beginning as the storyline and characters are being introduced to the reader, the reader is given the characters titles and names when they first appear in the comic. I thought that this was such a brilliant idea and this is the only comic I’ve seen this in. I appreciated it greatly, as I got easily confused with the busy pages.

I loved how the characters were given the opportunity to grow in a relatively short graphic novel. I think this is extremely important to show for the intended audience being children’s fiction and middle grade readers. The specific growth of Minky and also other members of the crew, such as Eggy.

This is easily one of the quirkiest comics I’ve read so far! The illustrations were so colourful and detailed, yet were very old school. I loved them so much. I love a lot of colour in comics so this was fabulous for me, and this type of illustrations and colour are extremely important for the intended audience as well.

My only very slight issue was how busy some of the pages were with illustrations but also sometimes confusing dialogue. However, once the flow of the comic was felt, I ended up reading it quite easily, only being confused every now and then.

Thank you very much to Oni Press for providing me with a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Goofy yet sincere, Fun Fun Fun World is a fun new graphic novel for kids. With colorful drawings, unique character designs and dynamic artwork, Fun is a hilarious adventure story about aliens sent to concur Earth. Although it is very silly, this comic also touches on loyalty, friendship and living up to expectations.

Fun Fun Fun World is not for me but I am excited to be able to recommend this book to kids who have already read Dog Man, Squish, Mighty Jack and Hilo and need something new!

I'm not sure I enjoyed "Fun Fun Fun World" as much as I did Mercado's previous work "Sci-Fu," but it's still a really fun adventure. Fans of Adventure Time or Steven Universe are going to love "Fun Fun Fun World!"

I am entranced by Mercado's illustrations. I picked this one solely on the strength of the cover art. The plot is pretty simple with a fairly obvious progression, though there are some surprising elements. The ending goes pretty far off the rails. But it's the good kind of weird and makes for a generally entertaining read. Comparable to The True Meaning of SMEKday.

'Fun Fun Fun World' with story and illustrations by Yehudi Mercado is a graphic novel about a group of fairly inept alien invaders.

A group of failing space explorers can't manage to conquer any planets. With an angry queen giving them a last chance, they decide to conquer Earth. A young boy named Javi, and his father, run a failing amusement park. Javi convinces the aliens to help him fix the amusement part. In return, they think they have captured Earth. What happens when the queen sends someone to check on them.

This was a pretty silly story, but I found it a lot of fun. It had a lot of references to a certain famous theme park, so that was fun too. The art is bright and kind of crazy. I think young readers would like it.

I really loved the book a lot! It was so fun to read. The graphics were fine, really colorful. Something, I didn't really like about the book was how some of the speech bubbles were a bit confusing, in terms of who was speaking and when. Otherwise, everything else was great. The plot line was humorous and FUN FUN FUN!

Captain Minky and his crew have failed in conquering yet another planet for the Queen. They are sure they are doomed, but Minky’s fast talking gets them out of hot water. For now. They’re still probably doomed though because he got out of trouble by promising the Queen he’d conquer Earth for her. It is the one planet his legendary mother couldn’t conquer. And given his mom’s track record versus his…well, let’s just say his crew doesn’t have high hopes. They land in a place that quickly succumbs to their conquest, though. But it turns out they just really conquered an amusement park that a kid decided to let them conquer in order to get their tech help in refurbishing. Captain Minky is soon facing mutiny when this is revealed and the much more brutal Captain Vang is on his way to deal with Earth. Meanwhile, the amusement park still needs some work to be up and running again. What will Minky choose? Earth conquest, amusement park rule, curl up into a ball, or something else?

This was much more fun than I could have hoped. Why has no one ever had the would be invading/conquering aliens land in a theme park before? It is a brilliant idea. Minky is a new entry in the incompetent but hopeless alien invaders that are so fun to watch bungle their way through a plot. Combine that with the rundown amusement park and the likable kid who wants to get it up and running again, and it makes for very entertaining reading. The illustrations are vibrant and make the alien spaceship and amusement park really come to life. Highly recommended for those who enjoy scifi or humor graphic novels.

Notes on content [based on ARC]: No language issues or sexual content. Some cartoon violence that doesn’t result in anyone seriously hurt.

I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The art is gorgeous and vibrant. Father and son are trying to save their beloved amusement park and all of their ideas just aren't working. Suddenly, ALIENS arrive to take over the earth! What happens next is the perfect solution for all parties involved!

This was super fun! I don't know if I laughed more on jokes and situations or on how it was drawn. Also, great timing with emotion-strikes at the end, not too much, over the line thing. Really great I had opportunity to read this. I will definitely buy it later and recommend to kids and adults also.

Fun Fun Fun World is...FUN! It started off as a silly story with sillier characters. It finished with me contemplating life and success. Young people will love this book because it makes reading joyous. Adults will love the fun and the deeper themes that give the story its strong foundation. I recommend Fun Fun Fun World.

My son really enjoyed the illustration style and found the characters to be quite engaging. There were parts of the story that got a little harder to follow, but overall this was quite an enjoyable read. I would recommend this title for kids who are fans of science fiction, who are looking for a Fun Fun Fun way to spend an afternoon.

"It's not a dream if you believe it."

This graphic novel was such a treat. Quick, fresh and funny, with a really lovely artstyle. It also has me craving churros.

This was so much fun to read! We follow this little squad of aliens as they are on a mission to conquer earth. This was full of friendship, enemies, battles and just full of fun.

I really enjoyed the characters and the artwork was stunning. It was super colourful and I definitely think middle grade readers will adore this story!

4/5 ⭐️

Aliens invade Earth and conquer it for their queen. Except they've really only invaded an amusement park that's a parody/homage to Disneyland, complete with conspiracy theories about the park's founder.

It was a fun, colourful story about clueless aliens, a clever kid called Javi and a slightly off inventor. And in the end, churros save the world.

Quite a handsome and attractive book. Extremely colorful! I would love to get a physical copy to share with teachers and young readers. Coolness in book form!

Fun Fun Fun World is very, very fun! I really enjoyed this graphic novel about aliens that don't seem to realize what imperialism is, even though conquering planets is their job. Javi is a great character and I loved how he outwitted the aliens. It's a fun story, easy to follow, and I thought the art style was really cute!
