Bishop's Queen is Evan Bishop’s story. If you have read the first book in the Endgame Series by Katie Reus, then you know all about the bombing, injuries and mental state that he is in now. If you haven’t, no problem, because this story covers all the background that you need. Even though the books are about the Bishop siblings, Ms. Reus manages to make each a stand-alone while also making you want to read about all of them.

This is one of my favorite story-lines where one of the couple refuses to give up on the other. However, just when she is ready to give up, here he comes. No matter what Evan does to keep Isla MacDonald away, this woman stands. In fact, I would swear could hear Tammy Wynette singing, “Stand by Your Man” as I was reading this book. Evan fits the song, “Doing things you don’t understand, But if you love him you’ll forgive him, Even though he’s hard to understand.” Yep, that’s Evan for sure. However, just when she is ready to give up, here he comes.

Wonderful from beginning to end. Can’t wait for the third sibling’s story so now let’s get Ellis home with his name cleared soon.

I loved this, another fabulous Katie Reus book. Full of romance, mystery and drama it will leave you wanting just one more chapter and always wanting a little more. An emotional read at times, I loved a damaged hero and a second chance love story and this is a great example of why I do. Can definitely be read as a standalone, but I’d really recommend the first book as it adds so much more depth to the story and characters. Thoroughly enjoyed read

Evan Bishop survived a bombing but was left scared. He pushed away the love of his life out of fear. Two months later her is trying to get back in Isla's life. Isla is trying to keep her distance but after being attacked she realizes Evan can help her.

I didn't really like Evan at first because I couldn't understand how he could completely cut Isla out if his life after the bombing. She lost her father and her fiance all in one incident. But as things progressed you see that the bombing messed him up mentally and he needed time to get over it. He probably would have gotten through it sooner if he hadn't cut out Isla though.

I liked Isla. She was focused on finishing up her father's deals even though she hated it. Once things escalated with the stalker she learns more on Evan to deal with it. They learn to lean on each other again and become a stronger couple.

Overall, this was a great second chance romance and I want to go back and read the first book now. This did work great as a standalone but I do feel I might have a better understanding of some background characters if I had read the first one.

Bishop’s Queen by Katie Reus

2nd book in the Endgame trilogy. Romantic suspense. For completely understandable arc, this book is best read after the first.
After a near fatal accident and permanent scars, Evan pushed Isla away. He didn’t want her pity. He believes it was his fault that her father was killed.
Isla is done crying over Evan. when her life is in danger from an unknown enemy, Evan is determined to protect her. Then the chemistry is just too strong to be ignored.
Can she forgive him for breaking her heart?

Action and suspense. Chemistry and sex. Can they find the enemy?

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy for sharing.

This is book 2 in the Endgame Trilogy and I would absolutely read book 1 before reading this one or you will be confused about events that happened in that one that lead into this one. We saw snippets of Evan's accident and how he handled it along with his relationship with Isla. Now months later we get their full story. Evan has secluded himself since the accident, not only from people that he cares about but from the world on a whole. After Evan throws her out of his life, Isla is just trying to get through a day at a time. And trying to go on with her life while realizing that he truly doesn't want her in his any longer. So she tries to honor her father's by pushing through the last deal he was trying to make and then she plans to move on. But when someone tries to kill her, it pushes Evan to protect her. But it also pushed him to confront his own issues about the accident and realize that he will never stop loving Isla.

This was a beautifully written story that pushes all my emotional buttons. Evan has so many things that he is dealing with because of the accident that he pushes everyone away, and when he finally talks about it-it's a tear jerker. Isla not only dealt with the death of her father basically alone but had to deal with losing Evan as well, and that definitely made me want to cry. The fact that she has such a capacity of forgiveness just shows how beautiful a soul she really is. Because how many people can truly forgive someone? I loved this one!! Every minute of it! Now I am impatient for the last book because I really need to know what happened with that brother!

I feel like at this point I could just say that this is a Katie Reus romantic suspense book and I loved it! It’s no secret she’s one of my automatic 1-click authors. And to date, none of her books have been a bust in my opinion. So, I feel pretty safe in saying that it’s really hard to go wrong with a book by this author.

Bishop’s Queen is book two in the Endgame Trilogy that revolves around the Bishop siblings. While it can be read as a standalone, I’m kind of a series junkie and when it comes to a series by one of my favorite authors, I’m always going to recommend you read the previous books. And book one, Bishop’s Knight, was a great read, too!

Evan Bishop feels so much survivor’s guilt over the bombing that killed his now ex-fiance’s father. Not only was it his fault (in his mind) that her father was killed, now he’s so scarred he can’t make her stay with him out of pity so he pushed her away. All the way away. Isla MacDonald has been hit with a double tragedy. All at once she’s lost her father and her fiance. Now she’s just trying to move on with her life and finish the deal her father had started. But when it becomes obvious her life is in jeopardy, Evan rushes to the rescue. Will it be enough to prove to Evan he and Isla were meant to be together, or will he walk away from her once again?

NICUnurse’s Rating: I feel like I’m just going to keep repeating myself so I’ll make this short and sweet. If you’re a romantic suspense fan, you need to read these two books and you need to read them now!

I give Bishop’s Queen by Katie Reus 4.75 out of 5 stars!

This second book in the Endgame trilogy is action packed and full of suspense. Isla is a strong character. Evan is complex. The dynamic between the two is engaging to read. The mystery in this one is full of twists and I waffled back and forth on who the bad guy was. There is a great blend of tension and romance. I am anxiously awaiting Ellis's story and I can't wait to see how it all works out for the Bishop siblings. This author never disappoints.

If I'm looking for an excellent romantic suspense, I need look no further than this author. She nails it every single time and the Endgame Trilogy is no exception. This is the second book in this series and can be read as a standalone, but I would suggest reading Bishop's Knight first to get the full impact of the storyline and plot. I love these characters -- strong, alpha males and independent, smart female leads that when they get together create combustible chemistry. My heart ached for Isla in Book #1 so I was anxiously waiting to read her and Evan's second chance in this book. Bishop's Queen had everything I've come to expect from Katie Reus and more -- excellent 5+ star read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

The second book in Endgame Trilogy, Bishop’s Queen, picks up where we left Bishop’s Knight. Well developed characters and a compelling storyline suspended in danger and chemistry. This one is definitely a keeper and I anxiously await the next book in the series.

I love Katie Reus’s work. I was really looking forward to this book and it delivered. Almost to my complete expectations. I expected to like this one more than the first but I liked them the same. You don’t technically have to read the first book to understand what’s going on but I’d recommend it because there’s a plot that goes through all three books. You also find out what happens to Evan in the first book even though it’s still explained in this book.

I’m always a sucker for the tortured hero trope. I love love love it. Especially when that tortured hero has a heart of gold. Which Evan does. Even though he acts like a complete dummy, he eventually gets it together. And once he finally gets it through his head that Isla loves him and that it’s not going to change, he doesn’t harp on it and second guess.

I like Isla well enough. I normally like my heroines a little more on the kick butt side but her personality fit her and the story. I almost feel like she gave into Evan a little too easily for how set she was on not. That’s my only complaint about her.

Overall this is one of my favorite Katie Reus series. Nothing will probably ever top Redemption Harbor.

Katie Reus has a formula when she writes books. Most of her stories have the same type of flow and with each story it stays the same. Not goo or bad just stays the same. Endgame series seems to slight change the flow. Her writing style is easy quick read but she is able to bring hearts a story of heart. Isla was in book 1 of of the series and while this can be a stand a lone but readers will love this story more if they read book one. Readers will feel Isla pain and heart ache and why she does what she does in the book.

Quick fast romance with very little suspense but still worth the read.

Thank you Netgalley and the author Katie Reus for the advance copy of Bishop's Queen. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

Bishop’s Queen is the second book in the Endgame trilogy and – in my opinion – should not be read without the first book. You will miss important information and the book will feel incomplete. Do yourself a favor and start at the beginning and get the full history.
We met the two main characters before and I have to say I was really intrigued by their history and how it will turn out. I could not imagine how Evan would be able to win Isla back, but when he did and he was all growly and alpha I really wasn’t surprised. It was a typical Evan and I enjoyed their banter immensely. I loved the development Isla went through, because she stood up for herself and fought for her “rights” and her voice in the relationship.
I hope we see more of some of the side characters, maybe in a spin-off and I cannot wait to see how book 3 will go. Seriously. I’m so excited for the final book!

When book one left off, Evan was badly injured in the bombing that killed Isla’s father and refusing to have anything to do with Isla. His misplaced guilt consumed him to the point of calling off their engagement. Bishop’s Queen picks up two months after the bombing, with both Isla and Evan still floating on an island of denial and struggling to move forward from one another. However, when Isla’s life is on the line, Evan swallows his pride and realizes just how much of a fool he has been. And may I just say, Evan grovels very well...and Isla doesn’t just accept him back;)

I loved Evan and Isla! They had a rocky patch...okay more than rocky and Evan deserved what Isla dishes out..but it was obvious they were meant to be together. And the suspense portions! Very well done. Even though I had my suspicions midway, I still thought it was one person, then flipped to another, missing who the villain really was until a couple of scenes before the reveal.

Bishop’s Queen can be read by itself, but considering Ellis’s story has yet to be told (I can’t wait to see where this storyline ends up!) I would recommend reading the first book to get a pulse on the Bishop family as a whole.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and this is my honest review.

A great second book in this series We met Evan and Isla in Bishop Knight and this book takes off just about where that book ends

Isla is busy rebuilding her life she has lost her father he was killed in the bombing and she has also lost the one man she loved Evan has pushed her away after he was badly scarred in the bombing. She is trying to rebuild her fathers business but someone intends to stop her and when danger starts to circle her then Evan will
come from his forced exile to keep her safe. Can they rekindle their love and do they have a future together You will have to read to see. While you could read this book as a stand alone you will enjoy it far more if you read Bishop's Knight first now I am desperately waiting for Bishop's Endgame the third book in the trilogy

In book one, we got to see what happened with Evan and also how he broke things off (badly) with Isla. In their book, we get some more intrigue, a second chance, and just a lot of love. I was glad to see Isla stand up for herself and what she deserved, making Evan work for his every chance, because she deserved it. I am just loving this series!

Evan thinks that being caught up in a blast has lost him everything. He lost his soone-to-be-business partner, his partner's son and almost more painful, he lost Isla. Isla was one of the reasons the business dealings were going so smoothly. She and Evan may have been business partners, but it was their all consuming love that kept them burning bright. But Evan could not deal with the guilt that it was his fault that Isla lost her father and brother and he pushed her away.

Isla is still lost after the break up with Evan. She didn't care about his injuries, she loved him and wanted him no matter what the outside package looked like. But anytime she tries to move on, something triggers a memory and she just can't do it. But it appears that someone is not very happy with Isla and now her life is in danger.

Evan knows the only one he trusts to keep Isla safe is himself. But how can he do that and keep her at arms length at the same time? His jealousy is unseemly, he was supposed to be a cold-hearted a$%hole after all but that facade doesn't seem to stick when Isla is around!

Isla is strong, steel-spined and business savvy. But clearly running her fathers business was not her dream job. Evam is calculating, ruthless and determined but also very vulnerable - with a wicked ability to bring Isla to the edge of sanity through bliss! She is no softie, she makes Evan work for every little crumb of trust - go girl!

Great action packed story with blisteringly hot passion. Evan and Isla are like a flame and gasoline, it's all about fiery chemistry! I totally called it on the bad guy - well it was actually 50-50 but that's close for me LOL. Now awaiting on tenerhooks for Ellis's story

This was my first Katie Reus and I´m addicted. I tried to guess the killer but I failed. I love this kind of storys hot romance and strong heroes, who have to pop their head out of their butt to believe in love and the woman they love.
Isla is a great charakter who gives everything for her loves.
