I’m a long-standing Melissa Foster fan, so I was excited to be approved for This is Love via NetGalley. This is Love is the second book in Foster’s Harmony Pointe series, but honestly it could be read as a stand-alone unless you want to know more about some of the secondary characters (for example, Ben and Aurelia’s story is book one, Call Her Mine). The series itself is technically a sub-series of Foster’s larger arc of books, Love In Bloom, of which there are at least fifty-odd other titles, so if This is Love happens to be your first foray into these romantic books with family at their core, and you like what you read, there’s plenty more to choose from. That said, Foster is kind enough to provide her readers with suggested reading orders, checklists, and family trees via download from her website. Right, onto the book. This is the second book in Foster’s Harmony Pointe series, and it could be read on its own because the story centres firmly around movie star Remi Divine and her bodyguard, Mason Swift. Remi has been targeted by a stalker and her over-protective older brother is adamant that she will have bodyguards. The only problem is, Remi is very good at giving them the slip… Until Mason. Right from the get-go, there’s a spark between Remi and Mason that won’t go away. Both are aware of it and do their best to remain platonic and professional. Remi is, at times, spoiled and selfish, but she’s also naïve and restless, with a huge heart. She has a scarred past which has left its impact on her mental health, but she’s also an amazing actress who really cares about her fans. Mason, carrying scars of his own, is very much the alpha male and is protective whilst also letting her have some freedom once he figures out her need for space and air. Melissa Foster specialises in whirlwind romances, and this is no exception; the characters fall fast and hard for each other and there’s more than a few explicit sex scenes. These add depth and interest to the characters in my opinion and are never over-done. Equally, if you’d prefer not to read them, you won’t miss anything critical if you skip a few pages. The secondary characters are all from previous (or forthcoming) novels in the Love in Bloom universe, so once you’ve read a few you get the feeling you’re actually part of one huge family where love and loyalty are at the heart of everything. Honestly, these are my favourite books to read when I’m curled up after a hard day or needing the literary equivalent of a comfort blanket. I loved seeing Remi’s friends and their various family members and spouses, and I enjoyed trying to work out who would be matched with who for future books. This never distracted from the action though. Remi’s stalker does, by increments, get more and more sinister and terrifyingly close. There’s a sharp twist which I wondered whether would happen and when it did I didn’t feel it was too predictable. The world building is on point and the characters unique and interesting. Despite reading so many of Melissa Fosters books, I still found this to be fresh and entertaining. The healing of relationships and wounds (not just Remi’s and Mason’s) brings the novel to a sweet and heartwarming close. Not my favourite in the overall series but still so highly recommended! I received an e-ARC from the publisher, Montlake Romance, through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. |

Melissa Foster never disappoints me with her captivating stories. This is Love is one of the greats! It’s a story of actress Remi Devine and her gorgeous bodyguard Mason Swift. Remi sees Mason for the first time and is instantly attracted to him and when they finally spend some time together she falls for him even more. He treats her like a normal person instead of the movie star that everyone else sees. He also gives her sound advice on how to live a more normal life even if she has to be a little sneaky to do so. I love how caring Remi is and it broke my heart a little to hear about her background with her parents. I melted when Remi and Mason bared their souls to each other and how easy it seemed for them to really talk and get to know one another. I swooned when Mason helped her sneak out of her house even though they didn’t have anyone to sneak away from. As usual, I didn’t want the story to end and will be anxiously awaiting the next book! |
I always say this but these books are like a cuddle up sweater on a cold day. And every story feels more like catching up with old friends as opposed to a new story except that I get so much more of each of their individual stories. Remi was someone I didn't think I would ever be able to relate to. Not that she was a diva, just that her life was a whole other world to mine. And I can honestly say, fame is something I would never want. But Remi was such a sweetheart and was so normal I forgot she was America's Sweetheart. Despite the stalker. Mason I really don't remember from any previous books but with my goldfish memory that doesn't mean much. From the beginning I loved him. He was so caring and protective of Remi without being overbearing or condescending. He just quietly made sure she was safe and cared for and it was impossible not to fall for him. Together their chemistry was all kinds of hot but they were also just so beautiful. And I absolutely adored the story going on outside of their relationship. The whole book was just so much of what I love about these series. |

This is Love is the second title in the Harmony Pointe series featuring Remi and Mason, but it also features quite heavily several characters from the Sugar Lake series. Although it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the previous books in both series' before diving into This is Love. Remi is an A list actress, but it hasn't gone to her head, she's quite a down to earth and likeable characters. She's strong, sassy, resilient yet also has vulnerabilities that make her all the more realistic. Mason is a protective, caring alpha who also happens to be Remi's latest bodyguard and he's used to being succesful when it comes to clients. Remi and Mason's have a slow burn romance, that is fun and flirty with a touch of intrigue. The chemistry they share is undeniable, and the sexual tension just oozes off the page. Although not my favourite of Ms Fosters books I still quite enjoyed this entertaining story. |
I asked for more after book 1 in the series, and boy did Ms Foster deliver. This is completely different in tone to book 1, yet still feels warmly familiar. The style of writing delivers another wonderful, character driven story, with an edge of tension. This is everything I have come to expect from a Melissa Foster book, and then some. Magical. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. |
4 stars I really enjoyed reading This Is Love by Melissa Foster, it was one of those books that you didn't want to put down. I'm loving the Harmony Pointe Series, looking forward to the next book, She Loves Me <3 *Thank you to the publisher via Netgalley for the advance copy.* |
4.5 star I was pulled right into this story. The story has suspense, laughs, and sweet love. If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Call Her Mine (Harmony Pointe #1) This is Remi and Mason’s story. Remi is sick of stalkers and sick of needing a bodyguard. So, she ditches the bodyguards and takes off on her own. Yes, she knows she needs protection, but she is tired of always being watched and being under a microscope. Mason is pissed that she ditches his two best men and he is determined to make her see reason. He will just have to protect her himself. Sparks fly and passion ignites but the danger is not yet over. When danger gets way to close and tragedy strikes will they realize they both need each other? Or is this the end for them? I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book. |
I enjoyed my visit back to Harmony Pointe, all the same characters have returned from book one Call Her Mine, but it is not necessary to read book one to enjoy this story. This is not your typical Movie Star falls in love with Bodyguard story. Remi is about as normal as a person can be and both Remi and Mason are focused on work and little else when they meet. This is an easy and quick read and the same feel-good story I've come to expect from Melissa Foster. |
This is Love (Harmony Pointe #2) by Melissa Foster. Remi Divine is an famous actress. She is in town shooting a film. As with many actors she has a stalker and her brother is worried about her. Remi has a problem with ditching her bodyguards, so the big guns need to be called in. Mason Swift is the man in charge. He is an Alpha man personified. This is just a job to him till he gets to know who Remi really is. He now finds himself falling for her and sharing stuff about himself he has never told a soul. I loved this story. I smiled through out this book. Melissa always takes me on a journey where I fall in love as the characters fall in love. I couldn't get enough of their love. The sexual tension between the two of them was also extremely hot and when the got together it was pure fire. Mason is just everything!!! He is a women's wet hot dream. This book can be read as a standalone but with any of this author's books you need a chart to keep up with who is related to who and who is seven degrees of separation from who else. It just make want to read the other character's story. 5 stars for me |
4.5⭐️ This is my second Melissa Foster ARC. I got it from NetGalley. It's been sitting in my Kindle for weeks and I had just gotten to read it. This is Remi and Mason's story. I've read Ben and Aurelia's story, and they make an appearance in this book. I've only ever read this and book one, so I'm not quite sure if the other characters came from another series. This is a standalone so there's no problem with the reading order. I love this book a wee bit more than the first one. Their storyline isn't something I haven't before but it's more raw and a tad realistic. It's heartwarming and sweet and has a dash of suspense. The pacing was good and the characters were fun and interesting. And let's take a minute to appreciate and admire the male specie in the cover... *sigh* I can't wait to read what's next! |
This spin off series of the Sugar Lake Series, is so much fun! I've been wondering about Remi Devine since she popped up in the Sugar Lake series, and Melissa Foster did not disappoint. The story is suspenseful and you just feel for Remi. And then there is Mason. Where do I start? Badass body guard that does some really sweet things, I was all about it! This series is turning out to be just as good as the Sugar Lake one! I can't wait for the next one. |
This Is Love is the second book in the Harmony Pointe series by Melissa Foster. It's a stand-alone novel, but as it happens with every other book written by MF, a lot of other secondary characters appear. Some of them already have their own books and some of them will get them. Some readers can find that overwhelming and I felt like I had to mention it. The blurb sums up the story pretty well, so I am not going to add anything else in order to avoid spoiling you accidentally. Remi and Mason were a very good couple together. I liked the pairing and they made it work. As individuals though I have some tiny complaints. I found Remi to be a little immature and maybe a little spoiled too. I liked her, but she definitely had some flaws. Mason's flaws were easier to hide and I liked him more than I liked her. Neither is a bad person and both of them were likable. Remi is young and the life she is living is not easy on her, so to an extent, I understand what she was going through. Was the book perfect? No. But it was very good and I read it in one sitting. It had some of the characteristics I am expecting to read from a Melissa Foster novel, but at the same time, it was unique from the other books. Familiar and strange at the same time. I would certainly recommend it. |
Another 5 star read from Melissa Foster. This second book in her Harmony Pointe series is Actress Remi Divines story. Remi is rebellious - she is tired of the bodyguards Aiden, her brother keeps sending. Mason Swift takes over being Remi's bodyguard after she ditches his two best men. Protecting people is his life. From their first moment together, the sparks fly. No one sees Remi the way Mason does. These two open up to each other and the magic that happens is so very beautiful. Remi and Mason are one of my favorite Foster couples to date. This is Love has all the snark, laughter, heat and a few tears expected from a Melissa Foster book. |

4.25 stars--THIS IS LOVE is the second instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult HARMONY POINTE erotic, romance series-a spin off from the author’s Sugar Lake series . This is former Special Forces soldier and security specialist Mason Swift, and actress Remi Divine’s storyline. THIS IS LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Mason and Remi) THIS IS LOVE focuses on the protection of actress Remi Divine. Remi Divine has a stalker whose threats are getting more dangerous and personal. While filming in Harmony Pointe, New York, Remi is assigned security that she continuously refuses to obey or accept. Enter former Special Forces soldier and security specialist Mason Swift, the man with whom Remi will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Remi and Mason, and the potential fall-out as the stalker appears to be closer than anyone could have imagined. Remi’s brother Aiden raised his younger sister since the accident that claimed the life of their parents but Aiden wasn’t taking any chances with his sister’s safety and called in a favor from Ben Dalton, and his business partner Mason Swift. Remi Divine wanted nothing to do with bodyguards or protection but our heroine would soon discover that life isn’t all roses and puppies especially when her crazed fans begin to get too close. Mason Swift knows to fall for his client could end his career in personal security but when his men are unable to contain the likes of Remi Divine, Mason steps up to take over Remi’s personal protection. The relationship between Remi and Mason is one of immediate attraction but Remi continues to struggle with the security that is constantly in her face. When threats become personal including images of Remi and Mason together, Remi begins to realize that all is not well in her hectic world. At times, Remi’s attitude bordered on childish and rude , and it would take an act of aggression to show our heroine the reality of the danger into which she has been pulled. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including several characters from the author’s Sugar Lake Series, as well as Ben Dalton and Aurelia Stark (Call Her Mine #1), Ben’s business partner and Remi’s brother Aiden Aldridge, and numerous crew members and actors associated with Remi Divine. THIS IS LOVE is a story of obsession and anger; betrayal and revenge; family, friendship, romance and love. The premise is intriguing, captivating and engaging; the romance is steamy and seductive; the characters are numerous, energetic, fun and flirty. THIS IS LOVE is another wonderful addition to Melissa Foster’s HARMONY POINTE and the numerous inter-connected series. Remi and Mason fall in love while he is protecting her from a stalker, and they have to discover who is behind it so they can have a happy ending. |
This was an enjoyable read. Its sweet and an easy read to curl up with on the couch. There was a good mix of emotions and sexy bits. |
Only Melissa Foster can have you on the edge of your seat one minute and crying the next. LOL Mason Swift is some delectable man candy with his hot body and huge heart he trips my lights fantastic. *grins* Mason is hard as nails and believes and knows he the best at protecting, but when his heart is involved he doubles his efforts. Can that be enough? Melissa Foster thank you for Mason, I enjoyed getting to know him better. Oh man I was super excited to see the sexy powerhouse Remi get her own story. I enjoyed getting to know Remi better and her connection with her brother Aiden. Remi is a Rebel of sorts, she grows tired of the bodyguards her brother Aiden has stuck her with. Once guards are down Remi is off. Mason and Remi have so much more then the sexual vibes flying between them. I felt the kinship between them from their first meeting. Both understanding great lose. Now Mason needs to keep Remi alive. Can he stop the threat that haunts Remi everyday? Can they keep it all business? The supporting characters are the amazing people from the previous books in the Harmony Pointe series as well as some new characters. All gave Mason and Remi some interesting moments. I adore Roxie! Now I cannot wait to watch Aiden fall. Sigh All in All This is Love is an amazing addition to the Harmony Pointe Series. The plot is full of Healing, Love, Family and Suspense. I enjoyed the balance Remi and Mason gave to one another. All they had to remember was too, Just Breathe. Rated 5 Stilettos by Deb! |
This is Love is book two in the Harmony Pointe Series. I was really excited to learnt this story was about Remi. She's over her bodyguards, stalkers and constantly feeling like she is living under a microscope. Remi has managed to ditch two of Mason's best men and he decides to take matters into his own hands. Two two can't stand each other and soon they can't get enough of each other. Definite must read. It's full of steam and heart. I really enjoy that this series builds on the previous one. You get updates of the characters from previous books which is always a treat. |
The life of a celebrity is never easy. Appearances may be deceiving, danger may be at every corner, but all is good if one has the most handsome bodyguard! Remi has been under her brother’s constant protection. For a well-known actress, there is no such thing as privacy. When she starts receiving anonymous notes her brother hires one of the best firms to protect her and investigate the case. However, she does the job impossible. This until the head of the agency comes to protect her himself. Mason is taking the job seriously: he protects her, but also teaches her how to minimize risks, while still living her life. The most beautiful part of this story is how the main characters let down their guard and let each other in. Seeing Mason’s sensitive side is like seeing a crack in an armor. Melissa Foster took her time in developing every reaction and each gesture and for that she deserves all the praise in the world. I also loved the passion they have for their work. Remi’s dedication to her fans is impressive, although quite naïve sometimes. They put their heart and even life into it. Let’s not forget the friendships – the support system they have is great and it makes me feel sorry I haven’t read book 1 yet. Unfortunately, there is as well one aspect that pushes me back from giving 5 full stars: the mystery. The romance was great, but the conclusion of the stalking case that brought these two together is poor and rushed. The ending was penalized by this aspect and it dragged a lot with other elements (nice elements, but the case could have had a more serious conclusion). As it happens with all the books that I’ve read until now by Melissa Foster, something is preventing me to give my full rating. However, this is by far my favorite book by her and I cannot wait to complete all the books in the series. |

Five stars for this one! Remi and Mason are a great couple. It’s the “She’s being stalked, he’s the bodyguard” trope and it’s done very well. You just can’t go wrong with a Melissa Foster book- she’s getting better with each new release! |
