The Wild One is the second book in the Corisi Brothers series by Ruth Cardello. She wants to go wild and he wants to join her. One week in Paris for two Americans turns into more. Wren and Mauricio agreed to a week long fling while in Paris, but the two stray from the plan the more time they spend together. Wren is straight laced, while Mauricio has a playboy history. This story has a love at first sight story line with lots of steam. I really enjoyed how these two met and formed an instant connection. I loved the Corisi family in this story and how they were all pulling for Wren and Mauricio. I devoured this book in one evening - could not put it down!

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I could not put this book down! I read it in one day! I loved the dreamy landscape of Paris and Wren and Mauricio are great opposites attract characters that somehow actually have a lot in common. This is a common fantasy going away and falling in love abroad. The pitfalls and anxiety of the 'should we do this shouldn't we do this', and the fantasy of being who you want to be when there are no preconceived notions and letting your fears behind for a week away. It's all very sincere and feelings I know I would be put in if I were in a scenario like this. I liked the quirky side characters of Cecile and Felix. I love both Wren and Mauricio's families and how they tie in at the later half of the book. If you're looking for romance abroad this is the book for you!

Where my confusion lies is the minor tie ins with the character Dominic Corisi. Also why is this called the Corisi billionaire series when it focus's on the Romano family. I have a feeling this will be tied up in a bow throughout the series, but as someone who had just read this book and not the other series it was a tad confusing. She did include a disclaimer about the previous book, and his appearance in this book, but it felt like there wasn't enough plot to justify it. It was 98% about Mauricio and Wren, and 2% this side plot about this man who doesn't want to, but is forced to find his family. What really gets me is it's mentioned but nothing actually happens in this plotline.

I think if the author wanted to tie these two families together, it would have been an interesting book on its own about Dominic finding his other family and tie these two series together, but as it is now, it's a bit unsatisfying. Halfway through the book I thought 'what happened to the guy in the first chapter? what does this have to do with everyone" Overall I really enjoyed the book, and plan to read the first book about Sebastian and if there are any sequential books in this series as well. Hopefully we will find more about Dominic out as well.

I really liked this book. It had the perfect balance of steam and romance. Another great outing by Ruth Cardello.

The wild One Review

This is the 2nd book in this new series by Ruth Cardello and this one was a lot better than the first book. Don’t get me wrong, I loved reading Sebastian’s book but Mauricio’s book was so much more fun to see him fall. Sebastian was broken from the death of his first wife but Mauricio was so against falling in love, and just against any feelings towards a woman that seeing him fall made even better. He couldn’t fight it either...
Wren for as much as she claimed to not want a relationship, it’s all she can think about having with Mauricio.

Things are starting to piece together as well with the connection between the Romano clan and the Corisi clan. I’m looking forward to Dominic finding Gian and seeing how everyone handles the bombshell that is about to drop on them.

I was very excited to read The Wild One - a second book in Ruth Cardello's series about the Romanos family. Mauricio is the pretty one in is family - he has never had issues with getting women and had quite a wild life whe he was young. However, when tragedy struck their family, Mauricio stepped up and took over his family business. Now, when his brother is finally ready to take over the company again, Mauricio finds himself at crossroads -what to do next?
Mauricio goes to Paris and there he meets Wren, an American women vacationing in Paris, and in some ways also running from her real - complicated - life. They instantly feel attracted to each other and spend their days together in Paris. However, is something more going to happen between the two? They both did not expect to find someone from Paris but life sometimes does not give you the control.
The book was pretty steamy and fun, I felt for Wren and really wanted life to work out for her.
The most interesting part is how Dominic is connected to this family! I wish we would see a happy ending in that quest as well.

I loved this book. Wren was a different sort of girl for Mauricio, but he still asks for a fling. He’s not into relationships. But could she be his “one”? Loved how they were both close to their parents, and that he wants his family to meet her. He does mess up with her, can he get her to forgive him? Had some happy tears. It’s a very touching story. Can’t wait for more, I need to know what happens to Dominic’s family in the next book. I received an advanced readers through NetGalley and I highly recommend this book.

I'm preparing for a trip to France so I thought this was a perfect read to get into the mood of the city and I was totally right.
Exploring the most iconic Parisian places, our main character fall in lust... and then in love.
It was a fun book with a few serious undertones that made it very enjoyable.

The Wild One by Ruth Cardello a four-star read that will make you flourish. This is number two in the Corisi Billionaires series and it could be read as stand-alone, but honestly I would suggest reading them in order as there are one or two pieces that you may get lost in if you haven’t. This is a great read if you like instant chemistry but also a deeper story, the author does a good jo of dealing with darker subjects but not making them overly dark. The setting of Paris was so well done, you could picture yourself there with them.

Another Ruth Cardello hit with me! This book was a great read. Finished in two days and loved the new family blended with a bit of Doninic Corisi.

The only thing I didn’t like about The Wild One; was it ended! I want more. I want to know more about Dominic . I want to know more about Italy and I want more about our new love birds.

The Wild One is a delightful read that hooks you in for the night shift. Ruth Cardello is a favourite of mine due to her tendencies of keeping the chatacters intertwined and she references them back in other books. This book is no diffferent. I love the familiarity of characters that pop up and the feeling of family whilst I read.
Great read AAA rating

This book should have been called the Wild Ride...wow. First the way the main characters meet is off the charts. I loved how Mauricio and Wren both agree that this is just a Paris fling and it will not go farther then that. They both have lives to get back too but while they are in Paris they can be who they want to be and not who they need to be. Once they did return to the states I absolutely loved the dynamic Mauricio's family played in getting Wren and Mauricio back together. They knew he was hurting and they wanted to do whatever they could to ease that pain in their son/brother's heart. At one point I was laughing so hard when they were all sitting around the dining room table and his mother made it clear that not only did she know what her husband was up too with calling Wren's company but she too also had a plan and was having lunch with Wren's mother and talking on the phone with her every day. Got to love Mom's :). This book was fun and I can not wait to read the next one in the series.

Thank you to netgalley, Ruth Cardello, and Montlake for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

4.4 stars

I will be the first to admit that I struggled with the first book of this series because I hadn't read this author before. So, when I read it I had no idea that there had been a lot of books that had been devoted to the character Dominic Corsi. The storyline that is introduced in this series with him in it is a background that will later tie into the characters that are introduced in this series. Once I realized that I was able to fully invest in this series considering the stories are separate.

I enjoyed the characters much more in this book as well as the fact that the Corsi backstory was only in the opening and closing of the book and not split into chapters in the middle of this love story. I think that is why I struggled so much in the first book. I fell in love with Paris all over, I didn't even know that was possible since Paris is my favorite city in the world, and loved that the author put so much love into the history of this story. Especially, as it wasn't boring or out of place.

I am very much looking forward to the rest of the story and seeing how this will eventually lead to one big happy family. The ending was abrupt, I am assuming it is because of the backstory, and hopefully, it will continue right on into the next brother's book.

Ruth Cardello’s ‘The Wild One’ is a fun, sexy romp that packs a whole lot of heart. When Mauricio meets Wren in Paris, he feels an instant attraction that he can’t quite explain. So when they mutually decide to have a hot Parisian fling (something way outside of Wren’s norm), they both discover there might be feelings beyond lust that are involved.

This is the first Cardello novel that I have read, and while it mostly works as a standalone, I feel like reading her prior related works might be helpful in understanding a couple of the chapters that feature a character named Dominic. But if you’ve read her other novels, I feel like these chapters will make sense and add interest to the overarching arc of the series. I plan to go back and do some more reading to fill in some of these gaps.

In all, I feel like Cardello is a great storyteller who doesn’t shy away from heavier topics (PTSD, depression) without going about them in a way that feels gimmicky or inauthentic. The chemistry between Wren and Mauricio is also palpable and thoroughly entertaining. If you’re already a Cardello fan, ‘The Wild One’ won’t disappoint. And if you’re new to her work, you’ll find yourself wanting to read more.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I had high expectations when I started this one and luckily I was not disappointed. Wren and Mauricio were complicated, but likable characters. As you get to know them you see them shed who they were expected to be back home and live in the moment while in Paris. Honestly who wouldn't want to let lose in Paris and fall in love? Even though their relationship is based on an instant attraction with the understanding it's a temporary Paris fling, it quickly develops into more when they realize they have an undeniable connection that they've never felt with anyone else.

While this book tackles difficult issues, it is not near as serious or emotional as the first book. Regardless my heart still broke for Wren as she was trying to help her Dad cope.

The author did such a great job describing the setting of Paris that I found myself itching to book a transatlantic flight to visit the Eiffel Tower. Obviously that didn't happen because I have three kids and it's not possible, but a girl can dream.

I still find the whole Judy Corsi story line confusing and book two didn't really explain that as much as I hoped it would. Hope book three cracks open the mystery.

This is my first book by Ruth Cardello - but definitely will not be my last. The character of Wren is appealing as when given a chance to step outside our normal boring life -wouldn’t we all like to have a fling with a hot guy?? Mauricio operates in a world foreign to Wren where he can arrange private tours at the Louve and fly on private planes. But little does he know how much Wren will change his life.

So excited to get the continuation of this series! With the little insight we got in the last book about Mauricio, I was interested to see how he fell in love. Wren really throws him through a loop in that what starts as a fling in Paris turns into so much more. She is fiercely independent and values family while also having a quirky personality and is more of a realistic character, which adds to the storyline. I love that we get both POVs to see how Mauricio changes his thinking and views through meeting Wren, but also see how he changes Wren’s life in going after what she wants. After some confusion between the characters and some strong words, thankfully things resolve themselves and this couple not only gets their HEA, but Wren also gets to live out her professional dreams thanks to Mauricio. Something I really enjoy about this series is the dual storyline, and the anticipation of that storyline coming to fruition really intrigues me. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Let me preface this by saying, this was my first Ruth Cardello book. I feel like I have accidentally stepped into a magical world in the middle of the story. I am absolutely ecstatic to be here, but I clearly need to start at the beginning. I don't think that an average reader will have a hard time as reading this as a stand alone. However there are obvious clues that I am missing stuff, and that never sits well with me. I need the whole story. Especially because the writing was flawless and the story intriguing.

The world building in this book was phenomenal. I fell in love with Paris seeing it through the eyes of an engineer. I also fell in love with the Ramano family. Even though there are skeletons in the closet that I haven't uncovered yet, (Again, I am totally going back to the beginning) I absolutely loved them.

The main two characters, Wren and Mauricio, were so well crafted. They are both believable, just flawed enough, but perfect for each other. This is not your typical bad boy meets good girl romance. It's so much deeper. This is exactly the kind of story I love. There are lots of moving parts, some overt, some not so much.

I absolutely will be immersing myself in Ruth's back catalog for a while. I feel as though I've found a new favorite!

I loved this book and love the series! Always a pleasure reading your books and cannot wait until the next one.

The Wild One indeed! This book is aptly named because it’s waaaaay sexier than the first book in the series, and a whole lot of fun. It’s a love (or heavy lust) at first sight sort of story, where our couple falls hard and fast then builds on that connection. I’m not normally one to like an insta-love-style book, but the way this one plays out was certainly entertaining.

The story follows Mauricio, a charming guy with a wild past. He used to be a huge playboy but stepped away from that lifestyle while his family was in need. Now that things are better at home, he’s at a crossroads - does he return to his old ways, or find a different way to live? While visiting Paris, he meets Wren, a woman who has a lot of family responsibilities at home and is looking from a break from her daily burdens. Sparks fly between them instantly, and what starts as a purely sexual connection evolves into something deeper. Wren doesn’t let Mauricio get away with his smooth-talking ways, and Mauricio doesn’t let Wren get weighed down by life. They couldn’t be more different, but something about them just works. The only problem? They’re both on vacation, and will have to get back to reality at some point.

I’ll be honest and say that I don’t really love sex without feelings in my reads, so I didn’t have high hopes for this - but it exceeded my expectations. Mauricio may come off as aggressively sexual (and he is), but there’s more to him than that and feelings were involved before their clothes ever hit the floor. I loved how much time was spent on their first days together, so that the reader can really see the connection there before moving forward. That means that the end of the book felt a bit rushed, but it’s sort of worth it to see everything play out at the beginning. This book does focus a lot on the sexual relationship between them, so be prepared for a lot of laughs, one totally original meet cute, and plenty of heat. And I’ve gotta mention that prologue - if you’re new to the author’s work, the prologue will have little to no connection to this story, but will have plenty of meaning to longtime fans. Feel free to ignore it and move forward with the story. I received an ARC via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy, fun romance.

Ruth always delivers a sweet, quick and great romance. I like this series a lot and this second book was just as good as the first. I felt this one was a little more predictable than the previous but still a great read.

Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
