I loved this story. The banter between Bash and Ember was great. I loved the double date scene at the restaurant. I’m not a foodie like they are but I can totally appreciate their love of food and the ridiculous crazy extreme of the dieters and vegans in the scene. I’m just glad it all ends well!
It isn’t a short little book but it is so good that it just draws you in and the book flys by. I enjoyed the other book in this series as well. All the books are stand alone.
Rating: PG-13, no sex in the story, on page or off but it does show teenagers going overboard kissing and the consequences of that.
I received a review copy of this story from NetGallery. This review is voluntary and my honest opinion.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this book.
Bash and Ember are in a difficult situation when they have strong feelings for each other, and their parents get married. They stay apart, yet can't help but feel the same feelings as before when they're forced together again.
There are a lot of deep issues in this story. Drug use, abandonment, love. The author handled it quite well and there were a few sweet moments. This story is probably suited to college age (or similarly aged) readers.

I really enjoyed the Friend Zone, but Just a Boyfriend has way more substance. Bash and Ember were high school sweethearts until her mother and his father ran off and eloped. No one knew they were dating and Bash was warned to stay away from Ember. Eventually they end up at the same college and the feels are still there. This is a well developed story told in alternating POV’s.

I thought that Just a Boyfriend was so much fun. I read The Friend Zone earlier this year and I really love Sariah's writing style.
We follow Bash and Ember who fell in love in high school but stopped dating when their parents got married. Now they're both at the same college and are both denying the feelings that they still have for each other.
This book had an interesting family dynamic, even though they were high schoolers when their parents married and then Bash moved in with his grandparents. It wasn't weird or uncomfortable, because even though their parents were married they hadn't ever been siblings.
So many times I kept thinking "please just say how you feel! They could have had so much closure so much sooner if they had just talked to each other (instead of only other people). But it was cute and it had quite a few cute moments. I gave it 3.5/5 stars!

I didn't realise this was a sequel when I requested the book but, worry not, you can still read it as a standalone even though you guess immediately which couple the prequel was about.
I though this was a very entertaining read! I enjoyed the banter between the main characters and although I'm a bit sad that they didn't kiss until pretty late into the book, I definitely shipped them hard!
Ember is super witty and sarcastic, she's one-of-the-boys kind of girl, sporty yet still very feminine.
Bash is funny and caring, with some family issues that shaped his decision to leave soon after his dad married Ember's mom.
Yes, they're step-siblings. But they only live under the same roof for a few months and there was never a brotherly/sisterly connection between the two, as they started dating in high school months before their parents got married. This aspect of the story was a reason why was hesitant to request this book but honestly, it did not bother me because, as I said, there was no sibling connection between the two, ever.
I recommend this book if you're looking for a cute quick read.

Just a Boyfriend is a sweet and funny story. Ember and Bash secretly are dating, until their single parents surprisingly elope. Bash moves to the other side of the country and they don’t see each other for nearly four years until Bash ends up playing football at Ember’s college.

Bash and Ember were great protagonists to read about. They both were loyal, funny, and showed greater depth than I had expected from the blurb. Both were

It was a little obvious how the story would flow, but I can’t complain because I wanted it to end the way it did. I did get frustrated with the characters a couple times – why does no one communicate? That would solve most of the world’s problems!

Just a Boyfriend was an adorable and easy read; perfect for a cold winter’s afternoon.

Bash has to figure himself out first!

Ember Carlson had fallen in love with Ian “Bash” Sebastian in high school and they kept it very quiet from everyone. Things changed when their parents met at Bash’s parent-teacher conference and their parents started dating and three weeks later during a trip to Las Vegas, they got married and moved in together and Bash couldn’t handle not being able to date Ember so he moved in with his grandparents.

Bash had been kicked off his football team and he knew that Edwin O’Leary College (EOL) was his chance to salvage his career and hopefully play professional football but when he realized that Ember went to the same school and he would possibly see her all the time, he knew he had to figure himself out before trying to date Ember again.

Bash and Ember knew that their family probably wouldn’t be happy for them but they would have to convince them they were in it forever.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My favorite troupe is the second chance romance troupe. This is by far one of the best second chances I have read in a long time. Ember and Bash were high school sweethearts, except no one knew. They hid their relationship and before they could have their big coming out party the unthinkable happened....their parents met, fell in love and got married. Years later they find themselves thrown back together at the same college. Of course sparks had to fly and the love these two had felt for each other came roaring back. I love the bond that Ember had with her mother and I think like all daughters we always want to please our mothers and not do anything to cause them pain. I can understand why she was so concerned about telling her mother she was in love with her stepbrother because she never wanted her mother to look at her differently. I can not wait to read Logan and Jess's story along with the next book in the EOL series.

Thank you to netgalley, Sariah Wilson and Montlake Romance Publishing for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This one was so good!

What an impossible situation for Bash and Ember, to be dating already and then their parents (her mom, his dad) get married to each other. The family dynamics change and expectations change as well.

Thinking he's doing the best for everyone involved, Bash leaves.

It's now been 5 (or 6) years and Bash and Ember as back in each other's lives. They try to go on with just a friendship, but they soon find out they can't.

I didn't think it was fair of Bash's father to ask what he did, but he didn't have all the information as well.
I liked the secondary characters who made up a well-rounded cast and made the story have more depth.

I'm excited for the next story about Ford and Keilani.

I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

This was the first novel I had read by this author but it won't be my last. I loved it.! This novel is one of my favorite genres. I love it when a novel sucks you in and you can't put it down until the very last page. I loved the chemistry between Bash and Ember. So good! The dialogue and banter were so good! This novel checked all of my boxes and left me with a happy heart and a smile on my face. I loved it!

This book is about Bash and Ember. They fell in love in high school but, oh no Fate, their parents met and fell in love, too.
Their sacrificed their love for their parents' sake. But now, three years later, have they forgotten each other?
Sweet story. A little bit slow in some moments.

This was a sweet second chance at love story about Ember and Bash. They dated briefly in high school and hid it from their families, their break up came when their single parents married. Fast forward 4 years and they are both attending a local college close to the family home. They rekindle their friendship immediately which is so much fun to watch, their silly banter is spot on! Spending more time together makes it difficult to keep denying their feelings so they act on that spark and find that they both are ready to jump back into a relationship. Bring on the family drama and the customary angst and they still get their HEA. I really enjoyed this book and when I say it is a SWEET story that is really code for NO STEAM. While a little bit of sexy times may have added to the story, the absence of it certainly did not take away from the story or my enjoyment in reading.

Just a Boyfriend is the second book in Sariah Wilson’s End of the Line series, and this story is full of teenage angst and misunderstandings. The story starts out well enough, but it evolves into an unrealistic romp into the surreal. I did like the characters in the beginning, however as the story progressed, I lost interest and didn’t really care about their future together. The authors writing style is entertaining, quick-witted and provides both characters POV, but the this book wasn’t anything special or one that I’d bother to recommend.

I love all of Sariah’s stories. She captures friendship and romance in such a powerful way. You feel so much through the course of reading her books. Just a Boyfriend was no different. I love Bash and Ember! Their dynamic was magic!

Really, really sweet! I always love Sariah Wilson’s books. They have so much heart and some much chemistry without ever making me feel like I’m reading something too risqué! She is an amazing story teller and a diamond in the rough as an author.

I read Jess and Logan’s story, and like Wilson’s other books, really liked it. This story is so much more to me. Maybe this one hit some personal lines for me like depression and families with addicts as well as running from something good to be the martyr. I honestly loved this book!

You’re like an addiction to me.
Only it’s not just physical, it’s in my soul.
On my heart.
I want you constantly.
I want you in my bed, in my life, all the time.
It feels like there’s never a point in time where I don’t think about you.
Want to kiss you. Hold you.
Wake up next to you.
I want to tell you every stupid thing that happens in my day.
When something makes me laugh, the first thing I think is “I can’t wait to tell Ember.”

That was actually the cutest moment ever.

Story 🌟🌟🌟
This was a really dramatic love story with a lot of misunderstandings, crazy things happening and teenage angst.
It was like boy loves girl and girl loves boy but both think that the other doesn’t want them so they act totally crazy.
I enjoyed the story in the beginning but the more unrealistic things happened the more it became boring. I thought it would get better but in the end it was too cute and too perfect for my own liking.

Character 🌟🌟🌟
Ember was a strong, loyal girl with talents in Sports and the biggest love for her family.
Bash was literally the same person but as a male.
I liked them, but in the end I wasn’t 100% into the story and lost interest into the future of the characters, which was super sad, because the story had a nice premise.
But in the end the characters seemed too perfect, their action too weird and unrealistic.

Relationships 🌟🌟🌟
Like I said I liked the story in the beginning. It was so cute and there was a lot of teenage angst in it. But then there were so many unrealistic things happening, like jumping out of a plane, joining a dancing competition, being trapped in a snow storm in a perfect cabin. Like after a while it felt too much.

Writing style 🌟🌟🌟
The writing was entertaining and fast paced and was written in two POVs- Bash and Embers. We get to see all the emotions, all things happening in two points of views which I really liked.
All in all it was a good book, but nothing special.

Well this one was interesting. I have loved her new series and this one was fun to read but not a favorite of mine in this new group of books. The Struck series were all like eating chocolate cake for me and the last one of this series was great. We get a peek at how that couple is doing in this book because Bash and he are roommates. Bash and Ember have some serious chemistry. From the first pages they emitted heat from my kindle. I was wondering where the love was but it does show up and I was relived. This ended up being a deeper book then I thought it would be, it just took a while to get there. This was a pretty immature book for me. Lots of sarcasm, pettiness, not talking about the giant, huge elephant that is on fire in the room. This also had more making out, more talk of making out, more kissing scenes and more immature talk then any of her other books I have read. They are pretty open about the fact that they want to have sex with each other but unlike the other books there reason is trying to take time and move slow. So it was a much more in the world kind of book from a author who keeps it chaste and has a pattern of writing books with awesome chemistry. Just so you know that going in. I enjoyed it and found myself fanning myself in a couple places, but it was all kept pg13:} Actually they show a lot more in pg13 movies now then what was described in this book. A fun one but I like my characters a little more on the mature side so that is just my preference and not a bash on the book or the writing.
