I loved this book. I had just finished a really hard going boring novel previously and this was so much more enjoyable to read. I laughed and also had to stop reading at some points on the tube as I couldn't stop the tears!

The only thing that I couldn't understand was why he couldn't change what had happened or what was supposed to happen. I guess that the author just was making him see where he had gone wrong and make him realise a few things.

Loved the characters and I am always drawn to books that go through the years, so this was a winner from the start for me.

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read it.

As much as I wanted to read this book when I was first granted access via NetGalley I never managed to get round to reading it. I have now gone back through and read the Synopsis and found that now this book is just not for me and will not be reviewing. I want to thank the publisher for allowing me to have access to the book but due to my tastes changing in reading this book no longer appeals to me.

I absolutely adored this book, Time Ellen wrote an absolute masterpiece. Beautifully descriptive and a wonderfully woven story about love and destiny and second chances.

The ultimate "what if"....what if 10 years ago you chose a different girl? That's exactly what Ben gets to explore. I loved the simple messages with this book and being thankful for what you have. I especially loved the Christmas Carol vibe to All About Us. I also promise Ben does grow on you after a while!!

A massive thank you to NetGalley and the author for letting me read this book.

I really enjoyed this, it was such an emotional read that makes you realise you should cherish what you have instead of being upset about the things you dont.

I picked this one up while on a warm holiday in July despite it being based around Christmas time. This is very Christmas carol inspired and looks at what life would be like in the past, present and future if things were done differently. It’s a very interesting take as you don’t normally get a booked based on the male perspective and a look into male mental health. I did like the characters but didn’t love them but I was rooting for Ben and Daphne. Overall, a good read.

All About Us by Tom Ellen

A reasonably well written book. It is a book basically a time travel book written along the lines of a Christmas Carol meets sliding doors about Ben finds a broken watch on Christmas Eve whilst wondering what if he’d mad a different choices in university and picked a different girl. A along the lines of the grass always looks greener but who will he choose.

A time travelling, romantic Christmas story. Tom and Daphne have been together since their university days but they seem to be drifting apart. Tom is given a curious watch by a mysterious man in a pub and he‘s whisked back to the past to learn a few lessons.

I enjoyed this book. It does have a message for the reader - don’t take things for granted, be thankful for what you have and that the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence but rarely is. There’s a definite nod to Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol as the reader is taken on a journey not just to the past but also to the present and what could be the future if the main character doesn’t pull his socks up! In hindsight wouldn’t we all like to travel back to the past to visit those we have lost and perhaps to learn from the error of our ways?

The entire cast of characters are well written and believable and the storyline is engaging. It’s just a lovely, charming and delightful read with a hint of magic.

This really has me questioning why we buy/download/acquire books we know were going to love and then leave them on the shelf for so bloody long.
I was approved this in 2020 and two Christmases have past since then and each time one approaches i say "oh, I'll read that this month" and then pick something else up. Well if you are reading this, DONT MAKE MY MISTAKES. Read it now, read it quick.
The characters, especially Ben, brought this story to life. his relationship with his mum had me gushing! Even secondary characters were poignant and unique, I loved them all.

The story progresses quickly and this made me feel everything (regretting finishing the last few chapters at work on my lunch break *sniffs, pass me the tissues*).
The story isn't a unique one, think Christmas Carol mixed with The Midnight Library, but it was done oh so well. Please pick this up this winter, you honestly wont regret it, my heart is full!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing… if you could go back in time to certain points in your life would you? We only see or know what we saw or heard in the moment. If we could go back and see or say something we didn’t before what would we learn?

This is the first time I’ve read a book written by a male and from a male perspective so I wasn’t sure really what to expect and was half expecting not to like this book. But I was wrong and I absolutely loved the story. It was cleverly written and made me question things that have happened in my own past and the way that I saw something compared to other people.

Ben is questioning his marriage and whether or not he made the right choices when he was a uni student and as an adult. He is able to go back and visit certain times thanks to a broken watch. I can’t tell you what happens or else it’ll spoil the story but if you like chick lit with a twist this is a book for you. It would be a great Christmas film and certainly one I’d like to watch.

DNF at page 98

Vain and irritating main character, couldn't connect with him or the story at all.

Liked the concept, but just not for me unfortunately.

Based on "A Christmas Carol", "All About Us" is a nice little what-if story in which our protagonist is taken to pivotal Christmas Eves in his life as he examines what really happened at important moments in his life and what will happen if he continues on the path he's currently on. Obviously, it's not the most original of stories, but it's skilfully executed and I was quite surprised by the conclusions he comes to.

A nice piece of escapism to while away a few hours.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC without obligation.

This is a retelling of A Christmas Carol.
This was amazingly written especially as it was a debut author. I am not a huge fan of this genre but I really enjoying this book.
