Wow what a story line. Ben has two loves in his life but when he is given a watch by an old man that didn't move, it was set at one minute to midnight, but what happens then. Read this book to find out. I will say that after reading the first encounter with Ben's life going back in time I had a dream that night that took me back in time to people that I knew but had gone on before me. Will Ben make the right choice or will he leave it to late to put things right. Get a copy and find out for yourself. I give tis novel 5 stars.

It’s a modern day take on A Christmas Carol and feels like a future rom com movie in the makings. I enjoyed the reading overall, but I came away feeling like it didn’t quite scratch the itch I thought it would. Maybe I didn’t like how the ending fell into place, it all felt a little too easy, and some of the deep and meaningful conversations between the characters too forced, made it all seem too simple.

I loved this. Christmassy but with a traditional twist, and a great storyline with some serious underpinnings. Super easy to read and a cast of likeable characters. Highly recommended.

This grabbed at my heartstrings & refused to let go! Great concept & characters that leap from the page made this an utterly charming book.

I ended up not finishing the book because I just couldn't get into it. I just really didn't like the main character. He wasn't a good guy and I didn't want to read more about him.

Wonderful take on Christmas Carol for everyone, not only Christmas lovers.

When I began to read this book, I wasn't quite sure if I will enjoy it but as the story unfolded I got really invested in Ben's life and couldn't put it down. Very enjoyable read.

Although it’s not a wonderful, literary word, I am just going to say it. I found this book lovely. I thought the characters were lovely. I thought the twist on an idea we are so familiar with was lovely, though it took me quite a long time to realise why the plot felt sort of familiar. I enjoyed the way it borrowed what was needed but also felt free enough to change what was necessary. The whole thing was an enjoyable ride. I’m not giving it the full 5 stars because for some reason, I was able to ‘put it down’ but when I picked up again it was always like greeting a friend who you always have easy conversation with. It’s set at Christmas and is perfect for a nice, lazy day with a cuppa and some comfort food. I recommend you delve into some Christmas chocolate and enjoy.

A good Christmas read with a touch of a Christmas Carol meets Scrooge. Ben is having second thoughts about his marriage and life but then a mysterious man steps in to help. A funny, sad and warm read which is just what is needed for a Christmas read and the long winter nights.

This is an enchanting and modern re-telling of a Christmas Carol which I thoroughly enjoyed. It is the perfect seasonal romance. The book isn’t about Christmas so could easily be read at any time of year but, the majority of the events happen around Christmas, so it gives you that warm happy feeling to read it at that time of year.

I was annoyed by the main character to begin with, he was whinny and selfish but upon finishing the book you know that’s how he needed to be written for this plot to work. I also enjoyed this was written from the male perspective as it is keeping with the classic and so many romances are from the woman’s viewpoint.

It is beautiful story that shows us that our memories are completely subjective to the emotions we are feeling at the time and reminds us that we need to apricate what we have instead of taking it for granted.

I will be buying this for my friends to read next December.

Thank you to HQ and netgalley for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Time travel isnt my favourite subject, and I did find this a little irritating to begin with.
However, the story , reminiscent of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, was interesting. We see Ben being given a 'magical' watch which is always set at a particular time. He goes back and forth in his present, past and future life, recalling incidents with a previous girlfirend, alice, dwelling on his situation with his wife Daphne.
where does he finish up? Wait and see.....
Thanks to NetGalley for a review copy.

All about us, is funny, clever and romantic. A well written tale with a fair sprinkling of fantasy. I enjoyed the escapism. My thanks to Net Galley, the publisher and the author for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. I wasn’t sure what to expect so was hesitant to start it but once I did I was hooked!
There were some funny moments and some heartbreaking moments. Towards the end my heart was pounding as I really felt for Ben and the situation he found himself in.
It left me pondering which parts of my life I’d go back to and what I would change ...

Absolutely loved this book and it is really well written. The story was so easy to follow with no big give away as to how it would end. Be warned though as you will become emotionally involved into the story

What an engaging book, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.
Ben gets the opportunity to visit Christmas Days in his past and see with fresh eyes how the decisions made then have affected his life now.
That statement may describe the storyline of the book but does not indicate what an entertaining read this is.
The characters are well described and you really get a feel for Ben, the main character. You see the actions he took, the mistakes he made and, more to the point, understand why he made them.
This does not make the book a heavy read though, far from it as the story flows very well. It is one of those books that you think “ just one more chapter” and then carry on reading late into the night. The idea of time travel may not be your cup of tea but don’t let that put you off, it is beautifully done and very believable.
It has a Christmas setting so is great for reading around that time of year but you could easily read it at other times as the main focus is Ben and his relationships.
This book is probably not one I would have picked off a bookshelf but I am so glad I got a review copy from Netgalley.
This author is now one to add to my list.

Scrooge meets Sliding Doors!
Ben, who is not content with his life or wife, travels back in time to certain times in his life and then forward to see his life in the future. Will it make home appreciate what he has or still yearn for what could have been?
Loved the book. A nice, pleasant easy read with a Christmas feel. Loved it - thank you

Loved this as a Christmas read. A cross between, A Christmas Carol, Sliding Doors and The Time Traveller’s Wife, but a great story that had me gripped from the first chapter. Download it quickly.......

This modern take on A Christmas Carol is far removed from the sort of book I would normally read and, to begin with, I wondered if it might be too light to bother with. However, I very quickly became fond of the characters and put aside my usual dislike of fantasy/time travel and started to really enjoy the story and root for the central character. It was really like a great Christmas film in a book. By the end of the book, I had a lovely warm feeling that made me want to go and hug my loved ones - a great success!

Loved this book, easy to read and characters you really care about. This is a modern story based on the idea of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol in which the central character, Ben, is able to glimpse both his past and future life events after an encounter with a watch-selling man in the pub. Will he take the chance to change his life, repeat the same mistakes or make amends...? Recommended!

Really interesting and original concept (if you ignore the fact that it’s based on Charles Dickens obv lol!) but it’s been given a modern twist. The writing is really engaging and it had me hooked from the beginning. The fact that I still wanted to read when Ben was such a pompous idiot says a lot about the writers ability to draw the reader in. I will definitely read more from him in the future. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and HQ for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

With echoes of Danish Nicholls, Nick Hornby, and Richard Curtis rom-coms, this is an engaging book. It’s a familiar story of boy meets girl, boy wonders “what if?” about another girl, and...well, you’ll just have to read it to see what happens.
It’s set, mostly, during the Christmas period, so if you’re looking for a festive read this would be a great choice.
The protagonist is likeable, even at the times that he does things that aren’t very likeable. He is human, flawed, and believable. I wanted him to make the “right” choices and so the right thing. I was hooked on the story and couldn’t put the book down.
That said, it is what it is, and as such it’s a pretty predictable book. I could see from about a quarter of the way through where the narrative was heading, and how things would end. It was still a pleasure to read, but I would have preferred the writer to leave it a little more grey, rather than the black and white picture he painted.
By about three quarters of the way through I wasn’t enjoying the book so much. I loved it, then I liked it, and then it kind of felt a bit flat in sections, which did affect my overall enjoyment.
That said, I know that this genre has so many fans that will absolutely love this book, and I’m sure everyone will be talking about it.
