I only started this series recently and it's been so lovely to read all three books in a short space of time. I feel like I really got to know the characters and got absorbed in the world.

A real strength of this trilogy is that the action builds through each book and new details about the mythology are revealed. Storm of Ash wraps everything up and will take you through every emotion! These books balance different elements really well, from world-building and tense action to romance.

Talia is probably the hardest part of this series to let go of at the end. She grows so much and is such a decisive character with plenty of agency. I loved the relationships she developed with different characters through the series. There are so many memorable characters in this books (Unus and Eli are two of my favourites!)

I'd definitely recommend these books to fantasy fans and I can't wait to see what Michelle Kenney writes next!

Well I read this book in one day,
I had only just heard about this series and started reading it and when I was gifted this book to read I did do a happy dance.

It was one of the best ending of a trilogy I have even read. I just didn't want this book to end

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

I jumped straight into this series not having read the first two books in the series (this is book 3), but that didn't stop me reading it.
I loved Tal's(Talia) character and think she'd certainly give Katnis Everdeen (Hunger games) a run for her money!
At first I was a little confused by the setting and story line as nothing was really explained from the first two books, but I soon got to grips with it and couldn't put it down! The settings are amazingly thought out and described so vividly! And as for Lake - wow!!
This is an amazing read and I'm really wanting to read the first two books now too!

Thanks a lot to NG and the publisher for this copy.

Ok didn’t realise this was a trilogy when I requested and the last book, I was a bit lost, but I enjoyed it and I’m going back to read the first two and give this a more deserving review once I have on goodreads and amazon, but for now despit my confusion I will say the writing was really good and the story was really interesting, the characters were well written and well developed, I did enjoy this a lot.

This book was absolutely phenomenal!!! It was the perfect ending to an amazing trilogy. It was very intense, gripping and also heartbreaking at times.
I cannot recommend this book enough and this series in fact. The characters are all magnificent and Talia really is the heroine we all want in a story! She’s strong, loyal, courageous and totally kicks ass!
The fact the story has so many creatures from ancient mythology made this even more interesting for me. Unus was my absolute favourite. I was constantly worrying about his fate in all the books!
There was a lot of fights and battles in this final book so it is definitely very action packed and you will want to keep reading to check on who survives or who doesn’t.

I am really sad that the trilogy is now complete, but like the saying goes; all good things must come to an end. I hope Michelle writes more stories like this in the future if this is anything to go by.
Thank you to HQ and Netgalley for letting me receive the ARC of this for an honest review. This book is released on the 6th February.

The Book of Fire series is fast becoming one of my favourite series of all time. I fell in love with the world and the characters in Book of Fire and I absolutely adored City of Dust. I was so excited to pick up the third instalment in the series and had incredibly high expectations. I of course loved every second of this fast paced and exhilarating story that I didn’t want to end.

As this is the third and final instalment in the series I won’t say too much about the plot of the book as I really don’t want to spoil this brilliant series for anyone. Storm of Ash probably could be read as a standalone but you’re definitely better off catching up on the first two books before setting off.

Talia is a fantastic protagonist, she’s such an interesting character and I’ve loved seeing her on this adventure, growing as a character as she battles Cassius and the pantheon. She’s a strong and determined character and you’ll be rooting for her right to the very end.

I really love Michelle Kenney’s writing style. It’s vivid and addictive and it’s so easy just to get swept along in this epic tale of good versus evil. The world building is also exceptional, everything is well fleshed out and you’re given plenty of opportunity to understand the world.

The Book of Fire series is everything I love about YA fantasy. It’s a strong compelling series that I can’t recommend highly enough and I’m so looking forward to read more from Michelle Kenney.

Unfortunately, when I requested this book there was no mention that this was the third book of a trilogy so I don't feel that, even if I read this book, my opinion won't be fair. But unfortunately, if I choose not to give feedback my ration is affected so I have no choice but to leave a comment and rating just for my ration sake.

This was everything I needed from the end of this series. Michelle Kenney has hit again, creating an epic conclusion to a brilliant trilogy.
It was amazing to see how much Talia has progressed through the books and become such an independent woman by the end... I always love to see strong journeys in books and this hit that spot for me. It did tug the heartstrings too, so I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster throughout.
I can't wait to see what Michelle will write next.

After the whirlwind of the first two books we are here with Storm of Ash. Book three.  Tal has made it back to Arafel but the fight with Cassius isnt over.  His 'Hominum chimera' aka Lake is still out there, and he wants the real DNA recipie for it.  August thinks there are other outsiders and hopes to rally them for support, but my favourite part of the book starts with the fact that Unus is still with us.

Storm of Ash feels like its covers alot of ground. Its action packed, its fast paced and more than a little entrancing.  We switch between the outside and inside again, with a few other locations inbetween.  Tals actions almost feels little cyclical - but this is a natural progression for the book and doesnt feel like a repeat so much as a new challenge to me.

Talia needs to save Arafel, reclaim the book and fufil the promise to her grandad. All with some seccret hidden inside her, friends disappearing and confusion about who she can really trust.   Usually in this genre a fantasy book is abll aout magic, but its the science that makes thes the story even thought we dont really see it. Talia hasnt grown up in a restrited world, she lives with the animals, like an animal, so when the time comes to do the right thing its about her flawed humanity doing the right thing.

Theres fights, battles, victories and loss throughout the book which keep you turning the page to see what happens, who will come out on top, who will survive and if that little apricot monkey will make a reappearance!  We meet new mythical creatures continually in this book and the only thing that would have made it better for me would have been some sketches of the creatures - to see if my imagination created the same! (Personally I think this is the perfect job for Quentin Blake!!).
