This was a cute story of three unlikely characters moving into a rental house in Toronto. I loved that the characters each had quite the distinct personality including their landlord. The author also did a great job of throwing in a separate story line for each including a mystery of the ghosts in the attic of the house!

I am so appreciative to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this ARC. The relationships and the ghost story at the center of this book is entertaining and intriguing. I found myself interested in each of the main three protagonists, but honestly the ghost story was the only part of the book that fell a little flat for me. I definitely enjoyed this book, and I look forward to more from this author.

There was a lot going on in this book. A story line about ghosting, which turned into a storyline about 3 unlikely people who become friends. Then Mack's storyline and maybe Larry too? Throw in some ghosts and there's the book. I'd still give it 3 stars. It's a cute book.

Sorry I Missed You was an engaging novel with quirks and insight on forgiveness, friendship, and being ghosted. The 3 women irritated me with how angry or selfish they were but at the same time I liked that they could come together and build a sort of close bond, despite the age differences. This book did keep me interested in wanting to know what would happen next so I was never bored but I wasn't as engaged as I had hoped. I would call this book a contemporary thriller because there's a bit of a twist with murder and ghosts. I'm not too happy with the ending as I still have some more questions but I guess not everyone gets their happy ending in life so I can see why it may have ended like that anyway. I do think this was a bit unique of a story line as well.

And I'm sorry to say, it really didn't work for me. I had trouble connecting with any of the characters and just really had to make myself finish the book. The topic of ghosting seems to be a bit overdone at this point for another book about it, but overall I didn't really care about any of the characters being hurt by ghosting. It just really didn't work for me. a 2 star rating for me is 'it was ok' and that's pretty much how I feel about this book.

A quirky and interesting book that captured my attention with it’s unique characters, Sorry I Missed You was a great novel by Suzy Krause that I was lucky to read thanks to her & Lake Union Publishing.

What initially captured my attention was the cover art - I’m obsessed with this style, and want to read every single one because they’re adorable. Upon reading this title, I found it even MORE perfect, with our leading ladies Mackenzie, Sunna, and Maude.

One house, turned into a rental for three very different tenants at different points of their lives. Unlikely friendships forged in an unforgettable story, this one is sure to capture your attention with a little bit of everything - ghosts, lost relationships, and the hope for something more for each one of them.

Each character was unique and unlike characters I had read before, I really enjoyed this title & hope to read more by this author in the future! 4 stars for me, great quick read for me!

SORRY I MISSED YOU by Suzy Krause was a fun story that brought together three entirely different women at three different points in their lives. The only thing they have in common is that they live in the same house. When a letter arrives, mangled, with only an apology and a meeting place listed, each woman thinks it could be someone from their past trying to make amends. The three decide to stake out the coffee shop hoping their person shows up. Sitting there day in and day out, they start to get to know each other and why they think the letter could be for them.
As they become friends they realize things in the house are a little odd…their new landlord may have forgotten to mention that there are ghosts in the attic…giving them another mystery to unravel.
These three women aren’t always likeable, but they become the friend each needs, supporting and pushing each other to face the past and come to terms with it. Friends, mystery, romance, quirky characters, and ghosts! There’s a something for everyone here.

Not long after moving into their apartments in a converted mansion, neighbors Mackenzie, Sunna and Maude discover a mysterious letter int their mailbox. The letter's contents are general enough that they could apply to any one of them, and all three can think of a person they've been ghosted by who might have written it. With nothing to go on but a proposed meeting place, they set up camp at a local cafe, waiting to see if anyone will show up. Meanwhile, at their house, there might be actual ghosts around...

I've got mixed feelings about this one. I really enjoyed the three women at the center of it, who develop an unlikely friendship in the midst of a difficult situation, bonding over what-ifs and missed chances. I was invested in their stories and genuinely wanted things to work out for them.

On the other hand, I was less enthused by the other plot points. Larry, the ineffectual landlord, took up a lot of time and I couldn't muster up much enthusiasm for him. his awkward chattering, or his good-old-days reminiscing about the punk scene in Regina, Saskatchewan. The ghost subplot was interesting enough and tied in pretty well with the rest of the action by the end, but I didn't think it was as well done as the mysteries in, say, Celeste Ng's novels, and I often found myself wishing we could go back to the main plot of the three women's friendships and pasts.

It's a pretty good novel all in all, but, sadly, it didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Ghosting. Sunna, Mackenzie, and Maude have all been ghosted. One by a sister, one by a BF (not F), and one by a fiancé. They all live in a building owned by Larry, who has his own issues. All three of them think they are the one who will find out the answer to why they were left but you know, don't you, that the letter they are pinning their hopes on won't be the solution. This is really about the bonding between the women and how they overcome what happened to them (and why). It's a quick read and know , btw, that there is a ghost (not woo woo but it's part of the story.). Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

I love how this story was told from four different perspectives! And how it all unfolds was very interesting.

I found myself loving every single character in this book which really made it a huge page turner for me. I found this book engaging from the very first page and onwards.

Suzy Krause has done a great job.

Three strangers move into a seemingly haunted mansion, and uncover truths about the home, themselves, and the quirky landlord. A ghost story, meets murder mystery, meets love story, the multiple points of view will keep you engaged and guessing throughout.

At first the multiple view points and individual mysteries had me a bit confused and conflicted about if I would be able to get into the book overall, but as one character's story hooked me in, so did the next, and the way their stories intertwined had me INVESTED. Sunna, Makenzie, and Maude make for the strangest and most unlikely of friendships, like true neighbors should. I enjoyed watching them learn and grow from each other, learning to rely on each other for companionship, as they were all used to being alone. No matter how different they were on paper, they commonalities that made them connect are true with anyone you meet, if you are willing to see it. Each character had their flaws, making me want to shake my Kindle aggressively, but I enjoyed that they each had dimension.

The different types of "ghosting" brought up in the story were relatable, heart-wrenching, and at times, downright hilarious. This novel is a perfect crossover of multiple genres, and unlike anything I have ever read. I was immersed into the story, definitely did not predict the ending (a rarity for me), and was able to transport myself to a place beyond my dirty dishes, awful work week, and the currently global pandemic.

It is quirky, funny, fast moving and unlike anything I've read before. Have your ever been ghosted? Or have you ever ghosted anyone? If so, you will relate to the three characters dealing with ghosting AND ghosts.

Larry inherits a lovely old house in Regina, Saskachewan on the death of his aunt which comes with certain restrictions. He can't play any pre-1950's music or go into the attic. Larry decides to renovate the house into three apartments which he rents out. The new occupants are Maude, a 70-ish single woman, Sunna, a fitness instructor and MacKenzie, a student. Each live on one floor of the building and each has, in a way, been ghosted.

The three different personalities interact when a partial letter is unearthed in their common mailbox. Its missing half and signature makes each woman think it might be for her and so they meet up every afternoon at the coffee shop mentioned in the letter to see who shows up.

In the meanwhile, strange happenings in each apartment ,like odd nighttime noises and disappearances and reappearances lead them to think the house is actually inhabited by ghosts. How Larry and his three tenants meet challenges that alter their personalities and lives makes for a rollicking tale. This is not scary but tongue-in-cheek fun. It's a particularly good escape from our recent life challenges.

Have you ever been “ghosted?" I’m not talking about oozing ectoplasm and rattling chains in the dead of night, but where someone just vanished from your life or stopped contacting you without explanation. This is what happens to the three protagonists in Suzy Krause’s novel, leading them to live in the townhouse converted into apartments by the hapless Larry.

At first, Mackenzie, Sunna and Maude couldn’t seem more different but as we get to know them it becomes clear that they share a sense of loneliness, upheaval and loss. When a mangled note is left in the shared letterbox saying “sorry I missed you” the three residents each wonder if it was intended for them, left by the person now missing from their lives. They agree to meet every afternoon in the cafe mentioned in the letter in case the mystery man or woman should turn up.

The story unfolds through their revelations and memories, some provided more readily than others. Sunna and Maude are a clash of spiky personalities and Mackenzie is often the peacemaker. She has a feisty side at times though if anyone gets too close to opening the closet and revealing the skeletons she has stowed away in there.

Their lifestyle and generational differences cause friction and misunderstandings at times, and I found myself laughing out loud at some of the squabbles between Sunna and Maude. The bittersweet camaraderie of the trio, combined with Kraus’s warm, conversational style made me feel completely engaged with the narrative. So much so that I feel somewhat ghosted myself now I’ve finished the book!

This book has a very interesting premise and it works really well! Three women, all strangers to one another, end up renting a home together. They have very little in common, with the exception that each one of them has been recently, painfully "ghosted" by someone in their lives. Shortly after moving in, a letter arrives, and it might have some answers to explain their past trauma. But which of the three women is the letter for? Very absorbing story with relatable characters.

Have you ever had someone end a relationship/friendship for no reason and never receive a reason? That is the underlying theme of this book. This book follows 3 women and how they reconcile this issue while living in a house with 'ghosts.' The ending is great, I did not see it coming. I am going to find this author's first book!

Initially I found this book to be too quirky for me and I struggled to connect with the characters. Although it did pick up a little bit I was still left feeling like I was missing pieces of the book. I just don’t think it was a book for me unfortunately

Three women; Maude, Mackenzie and Sunna all check into Larry's newly acquired/inherited haunted house and a waterlogged mailbox ushers in a letter that promises a meeting- but who could it be? As the story unfolds, so does the friendship of the three.
This book is funny, quirky, nostalgic and oh so true because if you've ever been ghosted/ had someone grow cold and distance without warning- then you would probably enjoy this read.
I laughed at their meetings at the PaperCup cafe. It's made my Friday evening.

I think this may be the weirdest book I’ve ever read but I mean that in the best way possible! I hoped for more closure with Mackenzie’s story. Overall I really enjoyed this book!
