EVen if it's a bit dull at time it was an informative read full of food for thought.
It's a good read if you want to know what's going on in the field.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

You know the scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off where the history professor is droning on and the students are staring, mouths agape, heads on their desks with drool trickling out of their mouths, or occasionally looking at him with undisguised loathing? I'm sorry, but I felt like that teacher wrote this book.

I found this book unbearably dull. It read like a college textbook of the worst kind -- insufferably wordy and bordering on pretentious. While I've made myself finish over 600 books here on NG, this is one that I gave up on after I realized that unless I was required to read it for a class or paid a substantial amount of money, there was no way I'd sacrifice the amount of my time that it would take to finish it. Two stars instead of one because the author does seem educated on the matter.

I've got to read advanced reader copy. Interesting and comprehensive overview on technology and technological companies disrupting well known existing industries. The book has a touch of author 's opinion and is well illustrated by different examples. It's worth reading to catch up with many tech trends.
